Hi all, This is my first on the forum so please bear with me. I just installed a bass tube in my hatchback Toyota Yaris, the Pioneer ts-wx20lpa http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/TS-WX20LPA/index.html. The sub is hooked with the factory oem h/u, therefore I installed a high/low converter, the exact model being this one XScorpion LC09 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40150_Xscorpion-LC09.html . The power cable is a standard cable which came with the sub and is directly connected with the car battery (no capacitor or fuse). The sound is quite good and solid considering it is a bass tube, however I notice that at certain very low frequencies the bass response suff…

I got an Email from this guy awhile ago named John from adassa audio promoting the Kevlar subwoofer. It seems to be built extremely well and its a daily driver and it says it takes 6 k! I talked to him about it and he said it takes 6k extremely well. And the spces seem very good. What do you guys think about this woofer? http://www.adassaaudio.co.uk/Kevlar15SubwoooferPage.html Here's some more stuff on them (Research) "We at Adassa Audio are always working on new product like the new Adassa subs ADA-KEV-15.1 and ADA-KEV-12.1 it has a 200oz and 440oz its a dual 1, dual 2 its has a 3" voice coil and 6 spiders on the 15 and 4 spiders on the 12” CCAW Flat wire Voice Coil a…

So I’ve narrowed my choices down to the FI Q Neo 15 and the FI BTL Neo 15. My indecision is which would be best for my tastes/application. I’ve never had a system as quality as what I’m looking to get into, so I’d like to get everything right and feel satisfied with the end result. I’ve had 1 15” l7 and 2 12” l7 over the last 6 years. Both systems were adequate, however, the most recent system being the 2 12s wasn’t put together properly by the audio shop I had install and build the box for them to be housed in. Long story short; the box and wiring didn’t jive with the setup, which burnt my coils and broke the surround on both subs. They were dual 4 ohm wired to a Hifonic…

Aren't going to be around much longer. And the CVX's are a Natural to TH's - the X's didn't like TH's.. The 4 CVX 15's met and exceeded the performance of the X's in every way as TH's vs our 'large low tune" recommended ported enclosure for the X's at max power with only 1kw per driver. IOW these are a FAR more accessible driver - and system combination. The system requirements lead it to be something 'everyman' could aspire to. Did you see that F/R? Un Equalized. 135d…

Aside from the 2 15" subs having the cone area advantage... Why would it be better to have 2 15"s over 4 10"s.....

Hello all, I have to say that Fi car audio has really caught my eye.. first off I will say Hi and that my name is Tyler. With that said here is my question. I have been looking at the FI SSD 15 and I'm not sure about what ohm and stuff to get on the sub with the amp I have. I currently have a Crossfire VR602 and I need some help with picking the options on the sub ( such as Ohm: FlatwindCoil: BP Power: ). Im sure i dont need flatwindcoil or bp power as they just seem to be upgrade options.. so basically all i need to know is what ohm I should get on the sub dual 1 or dual 2.. and im sure the amp will be underpowering the sub but should it sound ok bridged?

since i finally have my head unit , sub , and amp i guess its time to upgrade the door speakers. im going to leave the 6x8's in the rear fill simply because i dont feel like messin with it or see the need to. im wanting to get adapters to fit either 5.25 or 6.5 inch speakers for my front door for a ford pickup. i was wondering wheres the best place to find some to buy or should i try to make some. im decent with making things but have no experience with anything like this. http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6201-ctx65cs-image-dynamics-65-component-speaker-system.aspx was wanting to get these since ive seen so many good reviews

I am almost done with my sub-stage and Sound deadening So its time to start planning my front set-up. I want a midbass in the front door with my midrange and tweeter Now that I will no longer have rear's. I had been thinking of a round misbass but have heard such great things about the XS-69's and know they are same SD as an 8". I am also VERY interrested in the XS-65 comps for the mids and tweeters, but honestly have never heard any of them. I like the speaker's specs, ID customer service, and want to give my money to an American company. I will be driving 200 miles to Denver to hear them for myself before making any final decision. I am after flat response, Good sound …

Subwoofer Comparison Test: Round 3 By Vance Dickason Photography: Rob Mcpherson As in amateur boxing, this is the third and final round of the Subwoofer Comparison Test. This time we feature four speakers in the highest price category, $499 and up. No knock-outs or TKOs but certainly there are winners in our series of tests. But you are the judges and make the final determination. In the end, context is king. The woofer that is best is the one that is best for you. Objective: Four Max Performance Long Excursion 12" Woofers In the first round of the Subwoofer Comparison test we looked at four woofers that had price tags from $270-$300, followed by the second group that ran…

ok folks... here goes an impromto comparsion between a proven talked about sub, the re XXX against a relative newcomer, the soundsplinter RL-p first things first..some side by side pics... head on, they look like relatives... from the side, the xxx is deeper..8 1/4" compared to the rl-p 6 5/8" a little different angle... xxx 12 spoke venuzula, rl-p 4 spoke.. a close up of the xxx terminal's..while i like the set screw design and 8 gauge input, i don't like the unwoven tinsel leads. for a sub with this kinda potential, i would've thought woven tinsel leads would have been in order the SS's spring loaded terminals....used by many...i actually lie the set screws of the …

The other day when Mark and I were talking about his new model subs, he suggested he send me one of his new prototype drivers, the Mach 5 SPL 12. I got this sub in this weekend and had a chance to look over it and install it, and throw some real power at it (above 2.5kw, per his request). This will be Mach 5 audio's first real SPL dedicated subwoofer, and from what ive observed this weekend, I only wish they had them in 18's First off, here are the pictures of the driver. The first thing I noticed about this driver is the heafty weight of the assembly, it comes in at 54 lbs  The basket is a standard 12 spoke style, however its been machined and milled …

I still can't quite get my subs to sound more up front. My fronts just lack any kind of punch though they seem to be able to handle bass if I toy with boost or loud modes but they don't really have that punch that some OEM speakers without any amp have. I'm sure you know what I mean, like the mid bass region isn't tight despite the door is all sealed up and I use time alignment. Here is what I have and what I have done. Pioneer avx-3700bh JL Audio C5 component speakers up front. woofer is in door and tweeter is up far corner of dash where default tweeters were. JL Audio XD 3 channel amp Silver cladded OFC RCA wires and Knuconceptz power …

Hello All, I'm relatively new to this and i've begun to build up my first system in my 2008 Chevy Cobalt Coupe. I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, and the speakers with Infinity Reference series. I'm looking to add a subwoofer to the system but I have a constraint. I'm an avid mountain biker and I transport my bike in the trunk often (Bike rack won't fit over the spoiler). I either need a subwoofer that's easily removable, or something that fits tight against the side of the trunk (requiring a custom box?). My first choice is to get an integrated subwoofer/amplifier so I can easily remove it when I need the space (something like a Bazo…

Hello everyone, new to the forum and looking for a few thoughts or ideas. i have a brand new FI Q12 basic sub that sounds horrible in my opinion. I have had my hand in car audio for 15 years or so and this sub is driving me insane. its installed in a 2004 ram 1500 hemi and powered by a new kicker zx1500.1 in a box around 1.25 i know thats just outside the sub requirments. the speaker sounds as if its bottoming out or not getting the needed power, plenty of movement but no sound at high volume. low volume (scale of 1-20 lets say 10) the bass is clean 18-19 bottom out sound little bass 2-4" flex. i have a rockford p3d12 powered by a kivker 1500.1 in another ram it slam…

I have a set of Kenwood KFC-P709PS connected to a Kicker 350.2KX *i think it is*. So about 3 weeks ago I moved the amp so I can put the back seat down. Then today, I put hooked the RCA cable back to it, and Im getting bass and whatnot but no vocals at all. I changed RCA cable. Did nothing. I changed the speaker wire. Did nothing. Tried just the speaker without the tweeter. Still nothing. Checked power and ground connections. Nothing. I factory reset my headunit which is a KVT-516, and that didnt work. Im lost here. I checked all the connections on the back of the head unit and all that. Everything is good. I wanna say my amp is buggered but its pounding my speakers like n…
