does anyone have any experience with the Pioneer TS-W3002D4? i want to buy 2 of them and have a 1500 watt amplifier. should i upgrade the amp? are they a good quality sub?

Okay first of all please don't ask if i have electrical upgrades because yes i do. i Just want some opinions on subs and an amp to push them.. I'm either thinking of 2 15" SSA XCONS or 3-4 12" AA havocs. Probably 4. The xcons will be powered by a saz-3500d in AROUND 6 cubes ported tuned to around 28hz and the havocs 3 would be saz-3500d about 6 cubes ported tuned 28hz or 4 would be by a saz-4500d 8 cubes ported maybe 26hz .. I want an ""SQL"" setup.. i know either are going to be extremely loud as well.. But i am going to attempt to make this setup as sound quality oriented as possible.lol might even just do sealed boxes. but i want my subs to get very l…

if i have two dual 4 ohm subs going into a 1 chanel mono amp..what would be the diference with wiring paralel as opose to just hooking up one voice coil to another negative to negative positive to positive and then hooking to the amp

I'm extremely interested in a pair of the focal 165 a1s and I went to listen to them at a shop and I was completely blown away... at first. The song started out I gave the guy my own test CD and the mids and mid-bass was awesome it sounded really really good. I have limited experience with listening to different speakers but this is undoubtedly really nice sounding. all things must come to an end however and a sample came in that was very high pitched and those tweeters are very bright. I like a somewhat aggressive tweeter but this was over the top. I still want to get the focals but I'm wondering about changing the tweeter. How would this be done with issues such as comp…

I have been in contact with many, many companies over the last few weeks. Companies that sell drivers, customize them, sell just parts, repair shops, you name it. No one has surrounds capable of more than 55mm one way. I keep getting told excess of 30mm Xmax is easy, 10" and 11" spiders not a problem. But surrounds. Surrounds is the issue. So then I emailed many, many, many companies looking for just surrounds. Stone walled. I am willing to pay $600 per 18"... either 4 for my van, or 6, 2 more for my home theater. $3600 for 6 18's. So I havent been on in awhile due to work and my amp being muffed up(my fault I think). I will be sending my amp into Sundown this week and while I am waiting to hear back about it I wanted to look into some component sets and I have found myself asking a couple of questions. Right now I have 2 pair of coaxial speakers, both being 6.5. I want to step it up into the big boy world and get a 2 way set to try out. My questions are will I be able to power them with just the head unit or should I look into getting a 2 channel amp? My head unit is the Alpine CDA-9883. Also I didnt know if I would be even better off keeping one set of coaxial speakers and just get two 6.5 mid bas…

I have a 2002 Trailblazer and just got an AQ2200D. Which of these subs would be best for me to put with this amp? Any better recommendations in that price range will be appreciated as well.I am wanting it for music and not competitions but still looking to get pretty loud. Thanks for the help

booth are terrific subs in my opinion. are they in the same class ?do they have a particular application?

Ok I bought an rd sonance last year for my girls car. I didn't install it for 3 4 weeks after recieving it. After maybe a week of playtime it started cutting out and if I pushed on the cone it'd start back up so I figured it was a bad tinsel lead. Then one side of the coil died off completely so I ran it on one coil for awhile and it was fine until we decided to introduce it to a wall socket lol. Now I have a rd super paper weight lol.. Is it worth a recone or should I just sell the motor n basket if possible?

I was helping my friend out today wire 2 12" jls and we got everything setup and things were hunky dory. We took them from his old car, built a new box and tossed them in his new car. We powered it on (using multimeters to measure gains and SSF beforehand) and we started playing some tunes. All is well but I go to turn the volume down low to where the sub is barley playing and I noticed some scratching noise. I went back and pushed on the magnet (power off of course) and no scratching, no huge resistances... about the same as my 15. We took out the subs and they look fine. No bent coils (as far as I can tell), nothing is stuck, no burning...I took a quick peak at the term…

hey guys! so im in a little stuck. im going to be gutting out my old system and throwing a 1cuft ported or maybe bigger (if i can) under the back seat of my truck. i just went to a shop and they had some demo cars with just one Avionixx amp i believe a 2800m series and one 12" Concept sub of some sort and sounded awesome. its not a crazy set up, but that sounded great to me.. SO has anyone heard of these two brands? i sure havent. would the above set up be any better then the audioque 1200 amp and 10" fi bl i plan on doing? thanks in advance for any info!!

Hi, im new here was wondering if you could help me with some ideas for subs. My current setup is 2 12inch Sony 1300w at 200 watts rms a piece. I'm looking to upgrade to a better system i want SPL while not sacrificing sound quality. The only thing is i don't want to have to upgrade my alternator I have been looking around at subs such as the FI SSD ,FI X(with BP power option)x2, DD1512,SSA DCON, and Audioque SDC2.512. I think i am also leaning towards getting 2 subs instead of one because i don't know what rms vs surface area does for SQ/SPL. I listen to Rap/rock if anyone can help me out that be great. So I was thinking about it today and I hear a lot of mixed opinions on subwoofer size and its benefits regarding sound quality and SPL. I'd like to here everyone's say on this one between a 10 a 12 and a 15 what are the main advantages or disadvantages of each of these as well as say 2 10s vs. 1 12 or 2 12s vs. 1 15 or even 2 or more 10s vs. a 15. what would you gain vs. what would you lose. As much details and actual real world evidence as possible. Lookin forward to hearing some good responses. Have at it. Also you could vote for your favorite setup above.

i havent been able to find out a measurement on how deep a xcon 18 drops down into an enclosure. the enclosure would have the sub facing up, so i need to find out the length of the sub to help determine how tall the box would need to be. any help would be appreciated.

alright i pretty much decided to go with 6 12's in a wall in the truck. should i roll with the T3 T600's, AQ sdc2.5's or SA 12's? i cant decide, ive already got 2 sa 12's, but the T600's can be had for 116 shipped each! subs will be run with 3 AP 1500s. one per pair. box space is limited to about 10 cu ft max after displacement.

hi i currently blew my diamond audio hex tweeters and am now looking for a new set of tweets.\ i want to stay under 150. i can supply a total of 300 rms if necessary. i want ones that come with crossovers too. thanks

Not looking for anything spectacular, just something decently loud with decent sq that gets low for around 150. This will be going in a suburban so there is plenty of room. I was thinking about 1 15" RE srx? Or maybe even a 18" dayton classic? Just looking for some cheap bass, nothing extravagant.

Ok guys. Subs are in the mail. Mono and 4 Channel amp will come with my next two checks. (RE SEx 12, AQ1200D, AQ4x90) As for the money I have now, I need 2 pairs of speakers. I have an Explorer, so 6x9's are out. I'm leaning towards 6.5 coaxials for the front, and either a cheaper pair of 6.5's or 6x8's for a rear fill. There is a hole already made for a tweeter in the door (as the car has a system in it already), so components would be a great choice, EXCEPT....I'm working in a semi-limited budget (not willing to spend more than 160 on both pairs). With all that said, I have two choices picked out. Rockford Fosgate T1652 for front, and P1653 for rear. Still a skeptic tho…

Anyone know where I can purchase a re-coil kit for JL12W6 D2 dual 2 ohms voice coil? JL audio doesn't offer any re-coil kit. Also, is it ok if I use any other brands of recoil kit such as, Fi and any other brands that has the same coil resistance and size? Thanks

What is the MX for? Im assuming it's neither an SPL driver nor a SQ driver. Why is it so weak? My IB3s are more than 12Bl!

i called the office.. and WOW... what a huge problem. 33 bucks for shipping if I SEND THE SUB TO ATOMIC to be reconed.... 31 bucks just for shipping if atomic mails me the soft parts so i can recone the sub my self.... then of course the soft parts alone are 50 bucks... so 83 bucks for ME TO RECONE a 100 dollar sub... sadly this is the end of the line for me and atomic audio. o yeah.. and the glue failed that hold the former to the spider... i ask what kinda glue they use... he told me its different special glue... and he does not know the name of it... and on the bottle it only reads "speaker glue" so its special "speaker glue" that no one else uses. and no one has ever …
