My ass has been asking this on just about EVERY forum, but because I'm an indecisive idiot, I'm gonna ask here. Okay so I've got a Honda Fit hatch, looking to put the ol' audio in. I'm pretty much set on everything but the subwoofer. Comps: Alpine Type-X Refs, 6.5 Comp amp: Profile AP600 (got it for $55!) HU: Clarion DXZ785USB Sub amp: JBL bp1200.1 (spent $100 on this one) Now I just gotta figure out what to put in the ol' hatch. I've got about 1300 watts to work with at 2ohm, 1400 at 1ohm. I can fit a box about 38x17x17, so somewhere in the area of 4.2cu if I push my limits and have a 3" wide slot, aiming to tune it low-ish, around 32Hz. Like to snag a single 15 due to …

So my system was stolen out of our mini van but the left the 7" touch screen, it was all old stuff been saving this year to replace it next summer anyways. But I got sick of not having any bass so I got 2 Phoenix Gold QX 12" for $20 off a friend and I picked up a Phoenix Gold QX180.2 and Phoenix Gold ZX350 for $65. The 180.2 will run my kappa (witch are running off the deck right now) in the front door and the ZX350 will run the 2 12" @ 2 ohms. Now my question is, if I would build a box for each 12" would it sound the same as one box for both 12"? I'm looking through my subs owner's manual, and I can't find the displacement. What is displacement represented as? I've Googled it every way possible and still have come up with nothing. They are Clarion SW1051's. Sorry for the noob question.

I know a few little terms about a subwoofer's specs like xmax, spl, rms...... but what about these fs re qms qes qts mms cms sd vas bl these terms confuse me alot...... it makes my brain shizzle on itself. I would feel alot smarter if I knew what they meant. Thanks in advance ~MadroX

I'm looking for recommendations for a sub. I've got a .82 cubic ft custom sealed fiberglass enclosure and a Polk Audio PA400.1 which does 300w at 2ohm - actual output could be a little higher from what I've read. I'm looking to spend under $200. I like to have some "thump" but accuracy is far more important. I had a ID12d2v2 from about 5 years ago but that one's done. Ok so Ive had many systems in my life time. I am looking for a 10" or 12" no more than $150. I would prefer a 10" in a ported box. I have a jl audio xd500/3 so 300 at 2ohms on the sub channel. I'm not gonna upgrade amps. I will run the front speakers off the front two channels at 70x2 or something like that. I can buy jl audio, alpine, kenwood, and hertz at almost cost. For example jl10w0v3 $65 ea. So I want to know some what you all think. I was thinking about 1.5ft^3 but I know it will depend on the sub. Let me know what subs.

Man, I'm impressed by the looks of this thing...I saw pictures and all, but in person is just that much better. Dig the look of the spoked basket b/c you can see a lot of the cone...just gives it a better look, IMO. Chromed motor = I'm surprised by the suspension stiffness, though...seems to me fairly soft compared to the old one? Maybe it'll make the cone move "faster"...help out transient response... It's just too bad that all I have is ~300w @ 4ohms right now...waiting on my Tantrum to arrive. Must...go...install...

Last year I purchased a set of Image Dynamics CTX-65CS for my front stage. I was running them on an AQ200.2 amp. The right side tweeter kept blowing so ID upgraded me to the XS-28 tweets and the matching crossovers from the CSX set. Well, after 3 more attempts the tweets kept blowing. They said it must be something wrong with my amp, so I swapped the amp for my Kenwood KAC-7005PS. I bridged the channels to get 100 watts per side so that overpowering should not be an issue. Well, after the warranty ran out my last replacement came in. It lasted a week. Is it possible to just replace the surround on a sub, let's say Xcon? Can you do it without having to actually do a full recone?

I am looking at getting a new 12" or 15" sub for my 2001 Jetta. I am looking between the IA Death Row and the FI BL. I listen to mostly rap and I would be building my own box to spec. I only have enough room for one 12" or 15" so about 3.5 cu. ft. Currently I have a Hifonics BXI1206D so 1200 w rms @ 1 ohm. Any other suggestions would be apprecitated, looking for something loud that sounds good.

Ok, I'd like to know something.. I read a recommendation of using a 25in^2 port tuned to 34hz. So I understand how to figure out the port size, what is meant by "tune to 34hz"? Or is that a statement, that a 25in^2 port will be tuned to 34hz.?

Here are my babies fr the end of the 04 to 05 season. They are a pair of dB Drive Platinum 10's that are dual 2 ohm. Should be well with about 2k of power of each one. They seemed great for the price and build quality looks decent. Having the box made as we speak. Will get to do some tests with a little power on my Linear X this Saturday (my MECA setup) and get some tests done at the Hurricane Relief show on Sunday (hopefully) with the Audio Control 190. Not going to put the Concepts to the subs yet because of my stock electrical system. I will update everyone when I get some numbers. Anyone have any experience with the dB Drive Platinum's?

I have a 2006 KIA SPECTRA SX sedan. I have HAT Unity U-61 powered by an Arc Audio KS 300.2 amp I have a TREO RSX 1600 amp who is subless. TREO RSX 1600 312 x 1 @ 2 ohm 600 x 1 @ 1 ohm I am looking for a subwoofer that can handle Jazz music? I am not sure which subwoofer to go with that amp. I am not sure if I should do Fi Audio, Incriminator Audio SSA, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics or Arc Audio. I am looking for something for under $200 because of financial reasons. I am not sure if I woudl do sealed or ported plus I am not sure if I should go 10 or 12. Thank you.

Yo.. As of right now I have 2 12" kicker cvrs and a 1000watt kenwood.. And frankly it's jus not enough. Im drivin an 03 Pontiac grand am..budget is not an issue I'll be puttin everything together over time.. I've been doin alot of lookin around.. I've set my mind on gettin 1 15" (daily driver) and I'm goin to upgrade all my eletrical etc . I'm jus havin a hard time finding my sub and amp.. I am looking at these Treo SSx series components and am wanting to know if anyone has heard them or knows anything about them? I am curious as to how that dual tweeter design sounds and what the price of these things are. Any help is greatly appreciated.
