Would i need a double thick front for 2 15 inch IA Flyatlyns?

Im thinking of getting (4) Selenium 6w4p speakers and curious which four channel amp you guys would recommend for them? Im not sure if around 150 bucks will give me a decent amp or not, but that's prob as high as i would like to go price wise! Let alone. What do you guys think of Selenium? Im def in need of better midbass and those seemed to catch my eye. So throw me some amp suggestions and that would be great!! Thanks guys!

Hi all, Some of you may be following my build log. Well my dad is seeing my progress and he's getting jealous. He drives a 1986 Mercedes 300SDL. He's the person who got me into audio in the first place. He as an incredible-sounding system in his car, with the exception of bass. He only has 4" MB Quart speakers installed, running on a PPI amp and a super high-end Nakamichi head unit... the one that's all metal. The detail I hear in his system is just incredible. He hates loud bass, but he most definitely could use some improvements in the low frequency range. So I'm looking to go bigger (who isn't? ) and I was checking out obsidians. They look pretty nice, I'm pretty sure that the product is going to be great unlike some brands that are just starting out since obsidian was established by some reputable people. I've been wanting to do a big build for a while now and I've been hopping between brands, doing price checks and just seeing what I like most. im rebuilding my whole setup in my 86 camaro the only thing im keeping is the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X891 deck. what would be 2 good 12's and amp 4 the hatch. i want something that hits very hard but still has great sq right now i got 2 re audio re12's in a bandpass box running off a sony 1000w amp and i want louder. i think about $1000 will be my limit 4 both subs and amp.

I currently have an RE SX15D4 in a 4 cu ft net box tuned to 31 hertz running off an SAZ-1500D. I want cleaner bass with equivalent output or more. So I was thinking about just buying an XCON 15 Dual 2 and putting it in my current box. Then while i was looking at the classifieds forum i found 2 XCON dual 1 15's for sale for just over $500. Basically $100 more than buying 1 new XCON. If i bought them i'd put them in a sealled box 6 cu ft net. So i guess i'm asking what would you do? And i'm also wondering about power. Icy_chris and I are going to start on my car in the spring. I want to get some ideas first on what kind equipment I should be looking at. I have not used winISD or any program like that before. Is it a freeware program??? or does anyone have some plans for a SI 15 ported???

Ok so my sub stopped playing today; neither coil will measure either. The only thing that is bothering me is that I cannot understand why. I do not think I overpowered it in all honesty. I've had the same amp on it for 2 years. The coil visually looks brand new: no melted former or discoloration. I cannot see breaks in the tinsel leads or wire ANYWHERE. There is no evidence whatsoever that the bottom of the spider crashed into the top plate; none that I can see. There is no rubbing when I push down on the cone. I've tried the sub on multiple amps. Any ideas what broke on me? Tinsel leads broken inside of the spider? That wouldn't make a lot of sense, though. The spider is…

Well don't know if you guys remember or not but I was going to do a comparison between the D2 15" and the xxx 15" so I bought both, the RE 15" is coming and I haven't heard it yet so I don't want to cancel my order cause I want a chance to hear it first, if I like the RE sub I'll keep it, if not I'll buy another D2. My nitrous setup is going to cost a little more than I spected so the wife made me compromise Its in mint condition. Just bought it last week. maybe has 2-3 hours on it. I'm selling it for the same price as nick sells them. If I don't get the money oh well i'll just keep it I guess cause its worth no less. Since they will not be available for a few month…

I'm just curious is all. Looking at these for my application they don't look back spec wise. $ wise is really good for me. I'm broke as a joke right now. Sealed box like .8ft^3 ish depending on where I buy the box. Could be .5 could be .65 could be .85. So this 10" wants .75 so im in the ballpark. I've just never heard of these. Tried the search and 0 results found. Gotta be an error. Are these as bad as the price reflects?

i am just trying to get a idea which ones i want to choose. which ever one i choose will be in 4 cubes tuned around 30-35 with a AQ 3500d running them. which one would have more potenial to get low? thank you for you input

like the topic says, i'm looking to do a budget build. I already have an old 500/1 amp. I'm looking to pick up a used 10w3v3 on ebay for like $110. I want to build a 2.0cf box with a 4" port tuned to 32hz. Question is: is the 2cf box and 4" port too big? or am I still within the realms of "should be ok". I'll be giving it 500 watts. What it's rated at. thanks. PS: If anyone can name me a better sub for around $120 new or used, I'm still willing to listen.

I know a few little terms about a subwoofer's specs like xmax, spl, rms...... but what about these fs re qms qes qts mms cms sd vas bl these terms confuse me alot...... it makes my brain shizzle on itself. I would feel alot smarter if I knew what they meant. Thanks in advance ~MadroX

Well i finally got my gcon 15 put in on saturday and for some reason all the owner of the store wanted to do is play songs as loud as he could. When talking to my friend i over heard him say thats the loudest F350 I have ever heard and probably ever will hear. I was held up at the store for a good 20 minutes after they had the sub installed and i didnt have to pay anything for the install. Thanks Mark and Arron for all the help SSA for life.

Well, since the mags went on backorder i went to a shop owned by my cousin, and he hooked me up w/ an L7 12", on a price i couldn't really resist. sooo, after 2 days of hell making my box, i finally put it in the Jeep about an hour ago, and have been able to get an idea of what it can do (turned the amp's gain up to 4v for about 1 min.. JBL 1200.1). I'm using my friends 1200.1, and i'm very suprised at what this sub did for not being broken in, and being in a 2.2 cube box tuned to 43 hz. the box is as close to kicker "street bass" as i can get. :boink: :boink: but wow, this L7 blows the doors off the HC i had in there in terms of output hands down. my bosses son has a 03 chevy 1500 cab and a half with the 4 speaker non onstar,. from what i know it has 6.5s in the fron doors with a what seems .5 inch tweeter mounted above the 6.5 ..... the 6.5s are trashed, i wanted to see if anyone has had any luck with just replacing the driver... i have a pair of 6.5 mid bass speakers laying around brand new in box, they are 4 ohm. i wanted to just switch out the driver and leave the tweeter, looking for anyone that has been in the doors, thanks

i have a 2000 explorer. my box takes up the entire cargo area. i need to put 2 batteries somewhere in the car..any suggestions. theyre too tall to put under the back seats and too wide to put next to the box. im out of ideas here.....? (posting for magnolia guy)
