Hi, i have a 96 ford x xlt, i live in a medium size town, so competition is scarce (spelling) never the less i love to BLOW people away with my subs, i own right now 2 jl 10w3v2 with a jl 500/1 and any one who has a chit system loves it, and people who dont have systems crap there pants, atho i know its not much they have no idea. Any how, i wana run MB quarts, PCE 216s in the front and back and 100x4 watts amp, not sure which yet, and i wana push alot of air around in my car, i dont do sealed, i do ported. hi first off im new. I am going to get a 15" xcon with the khaotik ported enclosure and i still have stock speakers. I am looking for speakers that will sound good with this sub. Im going to upgrade to a 260 amp alternator, new wiring to the speakers. Its going in a 2008 Trailblazer LT with bose and onstar Look to use the Stetsom TH 4080 Amp with them Any help would be appreciated

I am asking this for a co worker of mine wanting to get a single 12 Skar Audio VVW12. It is rated at 600RMS and I know it can take more power easily. Now my question is that he has a all JL setup and has 2 12 W0's in a JL ported box. That box is huge and doesn't sound to good to me. I would like to replace it with a single Skar and run it off his JL J2 500.1 amp. It is rated at 500RMS @2ohms. Will this be enough power to use with the Skar? He is doing this because in his 2006 4DR Civic the other box is taking up all his space, I am thinking being custom built box the single sub will be less space and sound alot better. Anyone have experience with RE's SR/SRX lineup? Ready to order sub(s), but have come to a fork in the road: Multiple good subs vs one stronger sub of equal build quality. From what I've researched I could probably feed the SRX's 500w (<600w) a piece just fine; though they're 300rms rated. My thoughts: Wanted to stay under/around the $300 mark for the sub(s) and ~1kw of pow-a. Budget-"ish" build. Could have more cone area and better cooling w/ two subs on equal wattage. A single Q 18 seems loud and clear enough on it's own, from what I gather. I have no 150db targets or some ~ish not competing just knocking music. Hey guys it's my first post here. I'm trying to "upgrade" from 2 IDQ 12 v3's in a sealed box. Basically I'm changing my setup to 1 12 instead of 2 because I can't fit a ported box for 2 12's in my trunk and the output of them sealed isn't cutting it for me so trying to find a single sub solution. The sub would be powered off a SAX-1200D and my budget is whatever I can sell the 2 IDQ's for hopefully in the $300-400 range. I pretty much narrowed it down to the SSA ICON and the Fi Q. Any comments on which sub will get louder off 1200 watts, dig deeper, and take a daily beating. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

OK I made a new box (sealed) but I dont know how many cu.ft net it is? the box it the inside is 12"D 27.1/2"H 23"W with a driver displacement of 0.25 how many net cu.ft is it ????? help!?!?!

Which would you use? I'm not sure what I'd use for power.. Depends on my electrical.... I'm thinking a Maxxsonics amp or Sundown..

I am getting back into audio after a long layoff. I wanted to know what you guys thought would be the best speaker setup for mid and highs. I am planing on buying the new Zed Audio 6ch 150w a ch when it's released. I have been thinking of such brands as morel, focal, dbl, and polk. Price does matter would like to keep it under 1000. I was on sounddomain.com reading a thread on the XXX subwoofers and how people were building these snail shell boxes for them. They were saying how the sub got crazy loud and its the best ever. Has anyone here put their sub in a snail shell and listened to how it sounded? Anyone got plans so I can try this?

Im having some minor issues with my two Z 15's and i was wondering if i upgrade to a couple of btl 15's what will i gain/lose wit output and sound quality? Is it worth the extra $80?

I'm looking for recommendations for a sub. I've got a .82 cubic ft custom sealed fiberglass enclosure and a Polk Audio PA400.1 which does 300w at 2ohm - actual output could be a little higher from what I've read. I'm looking to spend under $200. I like to have some "thump" but accuracy is far more important. I had a ID12d2v2 from about 5 years ago but that one's done. i just put the order in for a 12 d2!!! now i must have the box ready when it gets here!!! so her is what i have to work with *i have a 2003 mustang and a hifonics 1500d *i want to go ported around 3.0 with a tuning of about 32-29 ( i need help there) * i listen to mainly rap so i want a loud loud bass! the box i have in mind is a 14hx31x16d which equals 3.091 internal volume. -when i get ready figure out port tuning, will i put in the calc that the box is 3.0 or 2.7 due to the port and driver displacement? -what is the difference between tuning to 29 or 32 sound wise? -is 3.0 internal volume to big for a mag? -would i be wrong for just spraypainting the box instead of c…

i got my 18 XXX today. it has broken tinsel leads that were semi repaired with speaker wire. though still broken. the surround is scuffed bad all the way around but the duscap is still pretty. lol. motor is still in really good condition other than a scrape on the very bottom. i tested the coils with a DMM and they both read 2.4-2.5. if i remember clearly(haven't tested my 15xxx in a while) though not 100% sure but aren't the coils supposed to be like at 1.7-1.8? so what i was thinking was what should i do?? i still have about 2ft of tinsel lead i got from fi. i was contemplating on resoldering all the leads then just sticking it to a wall socket and take a vid, but that…

Hi Guys I'm also planning to do the door speakers (With an Amplifier) in my car and I have never done this I've always only added a sub. So I may have a lot of questions and I'm looking for some direction. This will be hooked up to factory Head unit Via LC6i (unless directed otherwise.) My car has 8 total speakers. Front door has 6.5" speakers and then tweeters in the dash. Rear doors have a 6.5" at the bottom and then a tweeter next to the door handle. I have added pics below for reference. So my system was stolen out of our mini van but the left the 7" touch screen, it was all old stuff been saving this year to replace it next summer anyways. But I got sick of not having any bass so I got 2 Phoenix Gold QX 12" for $20 off a friend and I picked up a Phoenix Gold QX180.2 and Phoenix Gold ZX350 for $65. The 180.2 will run my kappa (witch are running off the deck right now) in the front door and the ZX350 will run the 2 12" @ 2 ohms. Now my question is, if I would build a box for each 12" would it sound the same as one box for both 12"?
