So the smileys might be different. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well I was supposed to be working on my car today. I didn`t Decided to wire up the Directed 1100d to the system an got carried away with the bass. Woah!!! Played SLAM & I nearly had a heart attack!!! :help: The bass is absolutely mental :earmuffs: :earmuffs: My missus ran out of the house to say the whole house was vibrating So there`s me sat in the car listening to the tunes at a much lower volume setting now. I did a few videos too. Sorry about the quality - the video doesn`t do the …

Well first off, howdy to all. Just joined the fourm and im sure i have some friends here from sin. What i was wondering was how many people here have inverted their sub? Nick told me the basket would grow on me a long time ago and it did. Has anyone else seen a sub with the same basket?

As of right now I have 2 dd1508s on a MB quart discus 1.5k. I'm looking to get rid of my 8s and upgrade to a single 15. Power output of my amp I'd 4ohm=375 2ohm=750 and 1ohm=1500. I have plenty of space to work with (olds bravada(blazer)). 2 agm deep cycles, and a 200a alt. Depending whether I sell them or trade them I was seeing what people would recommend on my power supply that is reasonable. Like I said I might not buy new if I can get a decent trade for them. Any ideas? (I know daily or spl will be asked and it needs to be all around. This is a daily driver but I do meca on weekends.)

  6. I have a 95 s10 which im planning to put some new gear in. first i will be using the new brz3000.1D ( which is cea certified btw) it is 3000w rms at 1 ohm. I have enough room to fit 2 15" btl's, but i was wondering how much of a difference going with 2 btl 12's would be compared to the btl 15's? i have a 150 amp alt and i will be using the biggest batt. xs offers. Let me know what you guys thinK? thanks, kyle

  7. I am asking this for a co worker of mine wanting to get a single 12 Skar Audio VVW12. It is rated at 600RMS and I know it can take more power easily. Now my question is that he has a all JL setup and has 2 12 W0's in a JL ported box. That box is huge and doesn't sound to good to me. I would like to replace it with a single Skar and run it off his JL J2 500.1 amp. It is rated at 500RMS @2ohms. Will this be enough power to use with the Skar? He is doing this because in his 2006 4DR Civic the other box is taking up all his space, I am thinking being custom built box the single sub will be less space and sound alot better. I am running a single Skar off 800-900rms and is mor…

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14757 The girl blew her HWS 6.5's so im looking at new 6.5's. Must be bale to handle ~50wRMS minimum and be fairly efficent and sound good. Loud would be good to because while im swapping them out ill be putting in a 50wx4 amp i had lying around bridged to 100wx2 (turned down for the mids/highs) and the NX4400 is going independant for th assasin's which means 220w each. trunk dances with 55w each, i should gain ~6dB i love that smiley

Just curious if anyone here has any experience with these speakers. Everything I've found on google is in German for the most part. The set I was looking at was the SLX 265.20 X-Plain component speakers. From what I've gathered, these are the entry level speakers from Rainbow. Just wondering how these performed compared to other component sets in this price range. I can get the component set for $175.00 shipped.

http://www.reddit.com/r/CarAV/comments/2qzbmm/500_budget_help_me_please/ <----- old post...... I've came to the conclusion of getting some sundown X 15's or 18's since they're only $20 price difference OR some 12' JL W6's since it's on sale for $500 with the original JL box. i have a budget of about $400-500 just for the subs since i need an enclosure and an AMP that i still need to find... What's the cheapest amp(not some walmart $100 amp that says it powers 3k watts) but a decent one that can power those sundowns or JL's without a problem? I drive a 2007 civic si so i have about 11.5 cubic feet in the trunk so.... what do you guys think? sundown or JL? any other bran…

Hi guyz, Just wondering if someone has already used one of those? http://www.tymphany.com/products_Tymphany_LAT.html How big should the box be (sealed) for, let's say a LAT 700? Last question, and a stupid one, would those work in an IB alignment? seems like vas and qts are good enough (my guess)... heh

Ive read quite a few different posts on the net and there seems to be an argument with what the correct port area for one of these subs is. Im trying to come up with a new box and im unsure on what kind of port area i need. Ive seen on the smd forums someone said the minimum should be 52 sqin of port, then ive seen the number 38 sqin on other, and also had someone say they contacted sundown and it should be 20 sqin?? This is the only thing keeping me from starting on a new box. Can someone please help me out with this? If it helps, box will be around 2cubes at 30hz ran with a hifonics brz2100. I know its not the best of amps but it is what im stuck with for now. Also thi…

  15. I have been out of the car audio game for sometime. One thing that has always been hard for me about car audio, is it is really impossible to say that brand x is better than brand y and that everyone has an opinion regarding their equipment or product line. Realizing that I also believe that there are products outside the main stream distrubtion that are equally as good if not better for less cost. This is where I want my journey to begin... I have ad 2 12's in a 2004 honda accord refiring. The sub brands were MTX 5000, Kicker Comp VRs, and JL 12w3v2s. (I realize this just dated my last setups......). Bostons for seperates up fron and coax in the back. Amps were on…

I currently have 2 05' s12L7's running on a bx1605d in a 4cuft box tuned to 35hz. The box has the subs and port facing up. I have been looking at alot of different subs and decided to ask your opinion. I have about 5cuft for an enclosure after subs displacement and port area. What two 12"s or 15"s could I get that would sound better and get just as loud or louder preferably with the amount of space I have and my bx1605d? They will be in an 04 Toyota Tacoma Ext. cab. Thanx 4 any help.

i got my 18 XXX today. it has broken tinsel leads that were semi repaired with speaker wire. though still broken. the surround is scuffed bad all the way around but the duscap is still pretty. lol. motor is still in really good condition other than a scrape on the very bottom. i tested the coils with a DMM and they both read 2.4-2.5. if i remember clearly(haven't tested my 15xxx in a while) though not 100% sure but aren't the coils supposed to be like at 1.7-1.8? so what i was thinking was what should i do?? i still have about 2ft of tinsel lead i got from fi. i was contemplating on resoldering all the leads then just sticking it to a wall socket and take a vid, but that…

My ass has been asking this on just about EVERY forum, but because I'm an indecisive idiot, I'm gonna ask here. Okay so I've got a Honda Fit hatch, looking to put the ol' audio in. I'm pretty much set on everything but the subwoofer. Comps: Alpine Type-X Refs, 6.5 Comp amp: Profile AP600 (got it for $55!) HU: Clarion DXZ785USB Sub amp: JBL bp1200.1 (spent $100 on this one) Now I just gotta figure out what to put in the ol' hatch. I've got about 1300 watts to work with at 2ohm, 1400 at 1ohm. I can fit a box about 38x17x17, so somewhere in the area of 4.2cu if I push my limits and have a 3" wide slot, aiming to tune it low-ish, around 32Hz. Like to snag a single 15 due to …

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34766_Rockford-Fosgate-P3D4-12.html The styling on that bish is craaaaazy. I just want to know from designer's and manufacturer's how much thought goes into the looks department of a sub, or...any product for that matter. I know there's you "I could care less how it looks, it's all about performance" but to me that's almost never true. Those blue ass "HIFONICS" logos and smooth one piece dustcaps like the AA Havoc has all add to the final product. (Not saying you should buy a Hifonics or Rockford P3 or even a Havoc just for looks) So I just want input from other people. I'll probably get mad hate for puttin the Rockford link, but all th…

currently i have 2 12" boston acoustic g5 subs with 2 12" gtr passive radiators running off a mtx 1501D in the spare tire well firing up. im not satisfied with the spl and want something louder. im thinking about taking them out of the spare tire well and removing my rear strut bar and then make a box where the subs can fire towards the rear of the car or fire them towards the cabin since there is only a metal cross brass between the trunk and cabin (2003 mitsu evo 8). since i have the gtr radiators, im also considering firing my subs to the rear of the car and have the gtr radiators fire towards the cabin all in a sealed enclosure (shown in an example on boston's websit…
