We just change our Regular Luxury Liner noise barrier. It used to be a two part composite system made up of 1 lb psf vinyl barrier 1/4" open celled foam We just gave it an overhaul and are now shipping it out. Over the years we have a had a lot of street rod and race car customer come to us looking for a product that could withstand the high temperatures on the engine side of the firewall. Some cars reach levels of 1000 degrees f. and for this application, we had no product to offer them. Now we are about 8 weeks out from releasing our newest thermal insulation mat. This new material is a multi layer composite that can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees when as little as 2 inches of air space is provided between the heat source and the product. I have to say it works very well. At the moment I am no where near done with my sound deadening, but the serious improvement on road noise entering the cabin from the rear of the car, is very nice for the long highway commute. So freaking easy to install, cut to size, spray adhesive from Second Skin on surface and on the Overkill, lay into place, hold for a few seconds, and done. Cannot wait to do the doors with this too. If I have enough I will do the firewall and floor. Install pictures will come later when I am done.

Sound Deadening Materials - Soud Deadening Pads

So this is what you get when you combine Second Skins new top of the line vibration dampener and a lil bit of rattle from the rear bumper.... Just when you thought my car couldnt get heavier LOL ~8.5 sheets of SPL Plate adding ~2.5 sheets of damp pro The rattle would completely go away if the tabs holding the bumper on top are pressed hard as hell so i probably could have just put a strip of overkill and been fine but thats no fun, I do plan on doing the over kill too just in case but that will have to be tomorrow.

The adhesive did not mix long enough when the Iron oxide (black pigment) was added. Just wondering how many sq ft there are in the pack. The website says 20sq ft. However, I just got mine today and it had a sticker on it saying 36sq ft. That sticker was covering an original 28 sq ft label. So how much dampening do you actually get in one of these packs? I haven't measured it myself due to the extreme laziness. Was hoping someone could chime in.

Second Skin being utilized in building construction??? Not everyone understands Second Skin Insulation is designed and used in many more industries then Car Audio. I'm an audiophile, I also happen to compete in SPL as well. So over the next few months I will be posting some before and after video's and pictures of Second Skin in some of my different builds. I had some laying around from last year and I just re-did my front speakers in my winter beater so I tossed ~12 sq feet on each door today as well as installing a pair of Hertz deici co-axials. A night and day difference from where I was at. As soon as I find my camera I will post some pics, plus it's night time now.

We are getting ready to have a video contest. I still have some kinks to work out, but basically, we want our customer to send us videos of them using our products.
