well i gots an 03 jetta which is already fairly quiet (ive heard much worse) but im curious of the power of dampener. i plan on ordering about 80 sq ft and starting with the trunk and working my way forward. My goal is mostly to keep the sound in and maybe take out a few small rattles in the process. My question is if ordering the overkill where do i put it in the trunk and how much should i order? i noticed the placement behind the door speakers and on the inner wall of the door. do you think overkill over more layers of dampener is the way to go to up the sound quality inside or should i put more money into more dampener?.... so whats ur advice? thanks in advanc…

Here are the doors in my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, Driver side, dont have a current pic of the passenger side but its basicly the same. Im just curious how much i should order to cover the inner and outer skin of the doors with (2) layers? Doesnt have to be a exact number just rough estimate thats all. This will be my first time using a sound deadning product. I plan on using roofing flash to cover the big holes. My drivers (ID oem 6.5s) will be in fiberglassed pods in the bottom of the door panels. Thanks.

Upon opening the Damp Pro box first thing I noticed was the nice wood roller and sample of the old Damp Pro. As I picked up the sample, first thing I noticed is how much thicker, stiffer, and stronger if felt compared to my Stinger Road Kill Pro. I was very impresses with the Damp Pro already and I hadn't even pulled out the new stuff yet. As I start taking the deadener out of the box, I noticed how a whole sheet 20"x12" can support it self without much help at all. I pulled out all 8 sheets and was very happy with the amount of deadener I had received. It was night so I had to wait till today to install it, it was pretty hard to sleep to be honest. As some of you know, Second Skin Audio had a contest a few months back for "team members." I placed second or something on the ssa forum, and was told I would receive a one time 50% off discount. No where listed was an expiration date. Two months later I needed sound deadener. Lately in Dallas, TX we have been having 100-108 degree days this past two weeks and I notice that my car stays hot and attracts heat since it is all black. The car is a 2003 Saturn Ion and the hood is 56" x 36" so after doing some research I can up with some better understanding of how I wanna go about this process. I plan on buying two sheets of Heat Wave Pro or Motor Mat Pro(which one would be better?) and just use the extra heat wave for the top of my reat deck in my car to keep a little less heat from that area since my amps will be mounted under their which probably wont help but oh well. We have been developing a new product for SPL competitors and bass heads that is going to be unlike anything the industry as seen. Basically it is a beefed up version of or spectrum coating, but along with it, we are going to include a couple pounds of our rubber tire strands. These are little bits of rubber that are made from recycled tires. The strands are very small but super strong. According to my rubber vendor, when these strands are added to acrylic coatings the network of interwoven strands that is created will increase both elongation and tensile strength of the material by almost 500%.
