I have been doing some research about diet pills lately to really see what was in them, what they are all about, and if they are really worth using. I thought I would share some of my findings and formulated opinions and would love to hear others as well. I would like to state that I am doing this research under the premise that the subject is participating in a diet and exercise regiment of some kind. It is simply obvious that no results can be healthily achieved through diet pills alone. The 3 must work together. It seems to me there are about 3 different things diet pills target. 1. Increased Energy - Diet pills tend to include caffeine, guarana and such. These type of…

Anyone have some recommendations on a door way type pull up bar? Between this, dumbbells, and pushups, trying to bulk up a little bit in the upper body region. I'm a skinny little fucker and my summer has officially started

Decided I wanted to burn off a little fat I gained from Freshman year. Started debating if the supplements or my diet was causing me to see a lack of results. Old routine (6 months, from 180 to 160): -Emerge Pre-workout + appetite suppressor -Take Five Slow Release Protein (Workout) -Whey -Breakfast without carbs (The last month of this routine, I began replacing a meal a day with fruit/vegetable juice. Dropped ~5 lbs in that month.) Began more weightlifting, instead of mostly cardio and core, and switched up my routine. I have definitely continued to gain muscle, but it doesn't seem that I'm converting the fat, just that I'm putting muscle under it, mostly around t…

Ok so this might get a bit long winded. So everyone believes that their metabolism is what keeps them skinny or fat, which to an extent is true, but in reality what you eat is. In simple terms Calories In > Calories burned = Fat Gain Calories burned > Calories in = fat loss Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. During this complex biochemical process, calories in food and beverages are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function. Even when you're at rest, your body needs energy for all its "hidden" functions, such as breathing, circulating blood, adjusting hormone levels, and gro…

Do you have a favorite food recipe? Post it up! Here is one of my favorite breakfast recipes : Oatmeal, cottage cheese, egg, banana pancakes 1/2 cup oatmeal (Quaker oats 100% natural whole grain) 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese (Friendship 1%) 3 whole eggs 1 banana Grind all the ingredients in a food processor minus the banana. Mash the banana into the mixture. Pan fry the mixture with coconut oil (the MCT oil is an added bonus) into 4-6" round cakes. Makes 4-5 cakes depending on size. I top the cakes either with honey or peanut butter but taste great with nothing else added. A buddy of mine likes to add coco to the mixture. Good sources of protein, ca…

So I wanna hear what your favorite supplement you have EVER taken was/is. It doesn't matter what type of supplement it was, just your personal favorite. My favorite was BSN no-xplode. It gave me a great energy boost and kept me upbeat during my workout. I did also take NANO Vapor which was ridiculous from my experience. It gave me a huge boost, the downside was it made me sh*t my brains out...haha.

I've recently started working out again to try and get back in shape. I'm not really "out of shape" but could benefit from gaining some muscle and getting back to where I used to be cardio-wise. A little background: I ran cross country my junior and senior year of high school and track my senior year. I haven't ran since until this past month I also worked out heavily the second semester of my senior year. This was at the close of cross country season - 6'0 and 155. I've never had a lot of body fat but I was at a ridiculously low percentage at this point. I started the semester with my bench press and power clean 1RM at 135 and ended with 170 on bench and 190 on power c…

I have just started to incorporate protein into my workout. I work at a grocery store where we sell whey protein, and different types of powders for shakes along with different types of Bars, and stuff. They only protein stuff I have tried was a Shredder Shake from Smoothie King. It was pretty good after I got over the protein after taste. I had the chocolate one if it makes a difference. I also noticed they sell a Jerky stick that is high in protein. Are the drink/shake mixes any good, and what ones do you recommend? Also what are some other good supplements that contain protein?

First a little back ground info. 5' 3" with weight fluctuating between 150 and 160. Fat content normally between 10 and 15 percent. I have an auto immune disorder called Lupus so I workout 5 to six days a week, eat extremely heathy, and get blood work done every 6 weeks. I've used BSN cellmass for years and my creatine levels were always around .90 mg/dl. For the past two months I've been using Six Star Nitrition creatine x ^3 from walmart and after a 16 hour fasting blood work my creatine level was 1.17 mg/dl. For reference the lab references normal levels between .63 and 1.13. I can't really say I've gained any weight from it because I've been taking 200 mg of Megace …

Screw the mind-numbingly boring Elliptical machine. Lifting weights on machines is too repetitive. You need to change it up and start injuring people who have no gym etiquette. They are morons and will always be morons, so they deserve it. Right? Here's a few targets that are in every gym that will surely challenge even the most in-shape guys around... - The nubnutz that drops the dumbells 4 feet above the bench after he's done with his chest press. For him, it's a self-worth booster; for you, a perfect opptunity to work on your right hook! - Mr Upright Row With Wayyytomuchpuckingweight. Give him an upper cut just before his last rep of body-swinging the bar to his chin. …

Choc, PB protein bulk bars 3 cups oats 1/2 cup PB 1 cup whole milk 5 scoops choc whey protein 2 whole eggs 2 tablespoons milled flax seed Mix all ingredients in a bowl until it becomes a good sticky consistency. Pour into a greased baking dish (I prefer glass) and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Don't ask me about serving size or nutritional info because I wasn't born with a vagina... Just pucking eat em. Just the other day i was on bench.. now it has the lower rack just incase u cant get it..well, doing some drop sets it would seem 1 arm is stronger than the other so, i get 1 side on the high rack and the other on the low rack. the guy across from me runs over to help lol...Good times in the gym

Keeping myself honest by setting this up here. I need to drop a lot of weight. I am flirting with 400 lbs currently and only 6’2. For the first time in my adult life my weight is putting a strain on my day to day life. Up untill recently my lungs heart and muscles have been able to make my weight seem trivial. I even had a recent stress test where they had me pedal and took movies of my heart and measurements after 2 shots of adrenalin and I got 2 thumbs up from the cardiologist. I didn’t feel so great though, but the docs chalked it up to indigestion. The other day though I was going up a few floors of stairs and I was honestly winded. I’ve never really had that …

My pant size went NEAR 50... i nearly crapped myself.. After taking a good look at my lifestyle, it's time to make a change. I started to look into a gym membership, 9Few deals thru work) Soda consumption is WAY WAY to high! During one sitting I could pound 2 or 3 mtn dews like it was my job!.. no good. My question is, a lot of people at my work use the gallon milk jugs and go to town with the water. How much should i realistically attempt to consume in a day? One of my main problems is, i work 4 days a week, so i have a whole lot of nothing to do for 3 days, i'm trying to save up for a new jetski for next season so i try not to spend money on stupid things... emphasi…

I saw this video this morning and thought someone might at least use a bit of the info in their quest to become healthier. Before you click in the link and think - wtf is this crap - it is about a doc that over comes MS, by changing her diet. Give it a look and let me know what you think. http://www.terrywahls.com/current-information (If the link doesn't work let me know)

I am definitly not in shape. As of this morning I am: Age: 17 Weight: 250 Height: 5'10" For starters, I just joined a gym, planet fitness. Was 99$ Cash for 12 months. I know it's not the greatest gym but I feel I'm heading in the right direction. As far as physical fitness goes, I am way out of shape, I get winded very quickly. As of tomorrow, I am cutting fast food, for good. I am also cutting soft drinks, and one of my favorites, sweet tea. My concern is, I have no idea where to start in terms of working out at the gym. My priorities are to lose weight, and gain strength. My overall goal weight wise based on my current information is 170. But for now I will realistica…
