There has been a lot of questions about charging batteries lately. Lets look at it this way. A D3100 is around $350. A multimeter or volt meter can be purchased for $40 to how ever much you want to spend on one. IMHO it would be a good investment to get a multimeter/volt meter to make sure the batteries are being charged at the correct voltages. Multimeter/volt meters are just good things to have on hand for any electrical situation. You can usually find some pretty good deals in pawn shops on stuff like this.

I'm sure its not going to be a problem but wanted to check. My d3100's arrived from Summit today and one of them got the corner bashed in a little. Just curious how thick the plastic cases are on these. Here is a pic:

If I am going to be running two dc 2.0's strapped, pushing two Level 4 15's. I currently have a D3400 in front, and an XP3000 in rear. If I add another XP3000 will that be good? Going to have a 200A alternator, compared to 110 stock. Unfortunately cannot go bigger on the alt with my car due to belt wrap and pulley style.

Charger turns green after seconds connected to battery... this is the second one (first one was broke as well) The battery in the video is new Here's a video - picture quality will improve once youtube is done processing And why did my battery come back with a dent covered in some black shit and scuffed up? (obviously it wasn't shipping because there wouldn't be a black residue) I pay good money for these products and when I get them shipped back to me beat to hell it makes me question what kind of company you are.

I tried calling you today about it but no response. I finally got my VCM today after a couple of months and hooked it right up. My problem is that it tries to charge at 19 volts.... it won't let me adjust the voltage at all. I have quadrouple checked the dip switches and they are on the correct setting. My alternator uses an exciter I got from DC power to run... when I put the vcm harness in between it tries to charge at 19 volts and won't do anything else. The only thing it will do is go dim and bright and tell me voltage... it will go into voltage adjust mode (blinking decimal) but the voltage won't adjust up or down.... I've hit both up and down hundreds of time. So …

I have searched everywhere for a high ouput alternator for my 2008 Hyundai Elantra and nobody makes one! My stock alternator is a puny 90amp unit. I would like to be able to support +3000wrms. I plan on using a D6500 battery under the hood. By adding a second battery I would not be improving anything other than killing my alternator faster, right? Do you think I can support +3000wrms with my factory alternator and a D6500? Thank you! Eric

If i have a bluetop under the hood big three in two runs of 0ga (basically, doubling up), one (or two, working out kinks) 250-300A alts, and 4-6 runs of 0ga to the back, to three(or four, if i get dual SAZ-4500D's) D3100's how short would i theoretically have to have the dual 0ga to the SAZ-4500D(or two....Not sure) to get the most out of the batts and amp, mostly for comp concerns? holy crap, lotsa wire! Thanks, -Chris

Is this battery still for sale? I dont see it on PMs website, nor do I see it on any of the online dealers websites. If it is still produced, does it come with the i-BAR system, or is that an extra add on part? If so how much does it cost? And will it fit any other PM battery?

I have a DC Power 270XP a D3400 under the hood and a D3400 in the trunk. Batteries in parallel, no relay(one run 1/0 +, one run 1/0 -). All wiring is Stinger HPM 1/0. Wire connections are terminated with copper ring terminals soldered with silver solder and crimped. Fuse holders are screw down type with Kicker 300a anl fuses. I have two engine grounds in 1/0, alternator to battery ground in 1/0, both batteries are grounded in 1/0. Under hood battery grounded to strut tower, rear battery grounded to frame rail. The only amplifier I am using right now is a Crescendo 3kwp wired at 1ohm gain set approx 45ac volts. I estimate I may see 200a draw now but will be seeing 400a in …

i have a 2004 Chevy Blazer 2 door. my Bosch battery did fine when i was funning a little 300 watt system not long ago but i recently upgraded and am pulling over 1200 watts rms between my mono block and 4 channel. i want to run one single battery right now but will eventually run a second or more in the trunk area. What would you suggest for me? i'm looking at the d3400.. its a tight squeeze but i can make it work. is this a good idea?

  23. Gonna see if I can ask this right. No matter the 12v battery, why are the cells in side of a battery typically rest at 2.17v? What is so special to make this common, yet generic at the same time? Why do we not increase these just a hair, like 2.3v per cell? Why has something like this not been done? I do not understand the build of a battery obviously. @2.3v per cell, we would have a 13.8v battery capable of safely charging around 15.3v. Reason i bring this up is the 14v battery seems like a trial and error install in terms of it "may" work but if it doesn't.. your electronics will get damaged. That's not acceptable so why hasn't\wasn't a less severe approach going from …

Ok, what's with the reverse polarity deal here? What is the benefit? I'm guessing I would have to wire the 5100r different from the 5100 when running it as a second battery? So the black is actually the +, and the red is actually - ? Is the point in this so you can wire it in series?

What size threads are the post holes for the D-series batteries. Also, how deep are they? Mine won't be for about a week so I'm unable to just measure. I'm looking for ways to hook up three 1/0 gauge power wires.
