  1. Well I hope that every one has a great christmas!! :23) The new year will be upon us soon. Lets hear the new goals and new setup ideas for this season or even predictions for the up and comming season? I would bet there will be a new addition to the 150db trunck cars comming to the lanes soon? I am also hoping to maybe see 160db in a SSNW setup I know there are a few cars that are on the hunt for this score. Also there are many new setups that plan on bassracing the 149.9 class and a few new ones for the 159.9 class if they can get it done before SBN? so lets hear about the new builds comming out this season or tell us about what scores you hope to do or even what score will show up in what classes this year?
  2. Kinda hard to say because I don't know what certain frequencies are in certain songs, but I think they should be able to play the mid to upper 40's with no problems. I determined the frequency the drop off happens by playing test tones. As far as clean and loud and the definitions of them....The clean part was more me asking if the AQ puts out clean power...people are always using the term "clean power" and I was just wanting to know if the AQ qualifies as an amp that puts out clean power. Loud....what's loud is very much subjective, I get it, I guess I was just wondering if the DD 2512's would fall under the "loud" category if pushed with the AQ2200 in a properly built enclosure. I'm not looking for a meter monster or nothing like that, I just want a daily driver that has a bangin' sub stage with a clean sounding front stage. My equipment prospects are my own choices, nobody led me to either of them...I have an AQ1200 that I am happy with, it didn't cost very much and pushed my subs nicely which is why I considered the AQ2200. As for the subs, I just wanted to go with something not many others out here have. Your problem lies in the fact that you currently have SQ subs in a box that isn't geared towards your music listening style. It may be what ID recommended, but that recommendation was either based on information you relayed to them wrong or done blindly. I personally wouldn't buy an AQ amp. Has nothing to do with being clean and even still it is your subs, I pretty much bet you couldn't hear "dirty" even if dirty were 10% THD in your subs. Amazing how crappy ears are in hearing low frequency info. If you want a budget amp continue on the path, but I would personally either spend more on the amp or buy used. I also haven't ever heard a DD setup that I would consider adequate. Nothing to do with loud as that is no problem, but coming from the ID's you are going to be disappointed in the frequency response as what you have now will be way more musical. IMO if your fronts are truly clean it'd be a shame to dirty the whole setup that way.

I thought they were a good company until someone said they are almost the same as Hifonics. I dont know about that though. I know the prices are competitive. They are very similar to DD, and they will do more than rated power (see the AQ 3500 vs Sundown 3500 in the sundown technical section). while indeed losing to the sundown, it still shows it puts out more than rated power AND is about half the price of the sundown .they are pretty reliable. subwoofer wise, i cant comment. the HDC's are said to get loud but their SQ hasn't really been proven either way, some say they sound good and others say they sound hollow, would have to listen to one yourself to decide.
  4. Check out some subs at the SSA store they have some good quality speakers in your price range. Also a custom box built to spec is a must if you want to get the most out of your sub.
  5. Naw your looking at the resistance ohms, dont worry about that at all. Get the D1 version so you can wire it in series to 2 ohms: Dont use the cap, buy a volt meter also so you can watch your voltage to see what else you will need (extra battery or alternator). Big 3: There is no such thing as underpowering anything, so your amp will power the BL and BTL well (they would still have some more output in them if you got another amp though). That plug on your box is for the consumer who purchased the equipment to know what ohm load that it is running at without taking everything out the box (so it will be whatever your speaker is wired to).
  6. The strands increase surface area, most 1 aught wires are 4,000+ strands. Stay away from the very thick wire.
  7. X2 Also with the bigger amp comes more current draw! Make sure you have sufficient electrical upgrades! Plus the 2000D is on sale right now!
  8. Unless your chasing tenths on a meter there is no reason to put more then rated to the sub. Go with the SAZ-2000D.
  9. No it is not common at all but I was told it gives you better voltage and less voltage drops at idle so I went for it and havent looked back at all. I get a starting voltage of 14.8-15.2volts when car is cranked on and no accessories with stock battery and alternator.

its really install dependant, jacob just did a 150.7 on his single sa-8.
  11. Any sub sonic filter that has a frequency from 25Hz to 30hz will work fine.
