I've never even heard of a 15 foot sub. That is a hell of a big dog. So you already have a box, but aren't sharing the box volume? That is going to make whatever gets recommended an all out fail. I wasn't asking for a recommendation on a sub i have one already! The question was what is the loudest single 15" daily setup you've heard. Stupid fricking question. Its all in the install. And you didn't ask about a 15" sub, but a 15' sub.

There isn't an SAZ-1200D. I think he might have been thinking of the SAZ-1000D. Yep, that's what it was!
  4. If you're looking to buy online from a place you haven't heard of before, another source to see what their track record is like is www.resellerratings.com It's not the end all, be all, but it'll give you another resource you can use to help you decide if you want to do business with them.

That deck is sexy! Can it be used to run a 3 way active setup?
  6. watch out solder (lead) isn't at conductive as a crimped terminal
  7. Yep, I have my sub xover set at 80Hz too.
  8. Good info! I might have to give the mli-65's a try, the price is definitely right!!

Thanks for the input guys, I ended up making a sort of custom harness with the nine gauge wire: Hope it works OK. All the devices are individually fused and I'm going to fuse the wire as well.
  10. Did you seal off your rear deck as well? It looks like your subs aren't recessed anymore but in a previous picture they were, did you redo the baffle or something?
  11. Oh yeah resin takes FOREVER to set up if it's cold. The body filler not so much it cures quite quickly when exposed to lots of light it'll stiffen up within 2-3 minutes and be hard after 5-6 minutes. The sail panel resin took about 12 hours to cure to the point it was hard. I'll look into carpet and vinyl
  12. There are aprox 3 coats of body filler, all hand sanded. i think they turned out great what do you guys think?
  13. Got an update, doing sail panels right now. got em all ready to glass i think they look great for a first try! What ya guys think?
  14. a small update Not liking my my big 3 so i re did it Shorter ground shorter + Lead. waiting for my DC alt to ship out!
  15. Slight update: I think satan himself made side mount batteries Installed my 1/0 wire and fuse installed My IDa-X200 installed Memphis set installed still waiting for my amp to come supposed to ship this monday
  16. beautiful looking dog indeed!

If you want insane loudness, get either a 12" or a 18" Kicker solo-x. They may not be the bet speaker in the world, but they can reach a 170db easily even 180db if ur lucky.

What's the difference between the SAE1200 and the SAZ1200?
  23. Yeah man, I don't really care to do business with DC Power for this exact reason. 3 of my buddies ordered alts from them, neither one got their product in less than a month and all of them were strung along, misled and flat out lied to numerous times along the way. As a result, only one of them paid for his alt but he was also given a freebie on top of it. I thought these were isolated incidents but i'm quickly learning situations like these are standard operating practices for DC Power.
  24. damn, I thought I was gonna see a video
  25. Yes, I completely sealed off the trunk, including the rear deck with 1/2" mdf where the stock Bose subwoofer mounted and deadened the rest. I used 1/2" mdf to make the initial flush mounts for the box and then used expanding foam for the small gaps around the box from the trunk. The subs were recessed in the first box. The second box just has a double baffle with no countersink for the subs. Nice! I'm planning on doing subs/port forward in my car too and initially wanted to flush mount them in the opening behind the seat but that's proven to be more of a hassle than it's worth so it's looking like i'm gonna end up doing it pretty much like you did.
  26. To get these answers your best bet would be to email Mark at the email address that is why I gave it to you. If that information was available to the public it would have been shared by now I believe.
  27. I don't understand why people get so up in arms when something doesn't fit it a nice neat little box. My take on the issue is that it's subjective, just like the term "loud." To me, ""SQL"" means the mesh of a more SPL focused sub stage with a more SQ focused front stage, hence my username. In my car i'm running a 3 way active setup with my mids/highs all time aligned and balanced out for optimal soundstage and imaging. The only thing SQ about my sub stage is the driver itself, beyond that it's more geared towards spl than sq. From being in car audio for so long I have realized that I don't fit either of the "boxes", spl or sq, I like the sq side of things when it comes to mids and highs, but the spl side of things when it comes to bass. Why can't people just accept that, why does it have to be either a or b?
  28. i agree. it shouldnt have to be black and white. everyone looks at it like there should be no shades of grey. i prefer spl subs, with sq mids and highs... and i feel like whenever i mention this, people think im committing a crime. It just falls back to people wanting everything to fit into a neat little box and when it doesn't they try to make it. I'm right there with you though, I'm not SQ, i'm not SPL, i'm a mixture of both!I like that guys idea though, Clean n' Loud! Although i'm not very loud ATM and likely won't be until I get both of my 2512's
  29. That's exactly why it shouldn't be used. Well by that logic neither should loud. What's loud to me may not be loud to you. Can you answer me this please, why does it bother you so much how somebody chooses to describe their system, be it loud, sq, spl or ""SQL""? If SQ was so cut and dry, there would be no need to have multiple judges at SQ shows, but obviously what sounds good to one guy doesn't sound good to the next. I think there are more things to lose sleep over compared to whether or not somebody is using the SUBJECTIVE term ""SQL"" properly. Keyword: SUBJECTIVE
  30. It's just a term guys, no matter how you feel about it, it's just a term.
  31. They'll just find something else to bitch about
  32. I think we agree more than we don't because if you were to remove the acronym """SQL""" from the above and put "loud" in it's place the same would hold true. That being said, the issue is with the omission of necessary info, not necessarily with the terms.
  33. Also to add for future reference, I would like the inside of the port painted black, the outside a dark charcoal, and the inside covered with a really light charcoal carpet that matches the outside but a lot lighter in color, since I plan on putting a neon on the inside.
  34. After all of my reading. I knew I had read most of the pile. But then Jacob pointed me this direction. Thanks. The Aveo and the Fit are in the same sub compact class. No worries. Soapbox

If the question is so stupid, go clog up another thread!!
