  1. Exactly, Fi Is No eD, Robot Underground Or T3 Audio. You're Safe. Rome Wasn't Built In A Day.
  2. This is absolutly retarded. Fi is a very busy company they are very small and recieve a lot of orders every day. They are a very credible company. It took my BTLs about 2 months to get here. They aren't gonna steal your money
  3. I am designing an enclosure for a Sundown Audio Z-15 (D4 wired to 2 ohms on a Sundown Audio SAZ-2000D), it will be a daily driver. I listen to a lot of chopped and screwed, r&b, old school and rap so I decided to stick with 31Hz. This may be a temporary box or a full time box depending on how it and the sub treat me. I havent build a box since August of 2008 so its been a while, my max dimensions are 16.5"H x 34"W x 21"D. Jacob told me I can make the enclosure as big as 4ft^3 and tuning anywhere from 30-35Hz and 28Hz if I wanna go lower. So right now Im sitting with a box at 3.85ft^3 @ 31hz with 60 in^2 of port area (port area range = 46-62in^2). Made of 3/4" mdf, standard slot port (l-shaped) opening. Enclosure Dimensions Outside = 16.5"H x 33"W x 20"D Port = 15"H x 4"W x 29.75"D Sub Displacement = 0.19ft^3 Physical Port Length = 15.25" Cut-Out Baffles Back = 33" x 15" Front = 28.25" x 15" Right Side = 18.5" x 15" Left Side = 19.25" x 15" Port 1 = 14.5" x 15" Port 2= 7.75" x 15" Bottom/Top = 33" x 20" (2) Thanks for help, if there need to be any corrections than let me know I would appreciate it. I got the specs from two different box designing programs.

  5. x2, it is a decision that you have to make. I dont buy used but I would take Sundown all day over Audioque but both amps will be perfect for your application. You wont hear the difference between the two at all.
  6. I thought you fella's might like this. I tossed it up in the HOTS too. Subject: The Ant and Grasshopper - Two Different Morals (Updated) THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER This one is a little different... . Two Different Versions.... .......... .... Two Different Morals -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OLD VERSION The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODERN VERSION The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving. CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and every- body cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.' ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake. President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight. Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper. The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood. The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it. MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

Nice way to express yourself that you had to race in there not that it matters, real mature. Read the rules if you post something and dont like the answer deal with it, some people find it funny and some dont oh well who cares. Why do you get touchy because somebody doesnt laugh at your joke, did it have to be the funniest one in the world and everyone laughed no. I came in to give my .02: funny or not, agree or not. That is what this forum is about regardless if you like the responses or not. Chill and move on, who cares about a helpful list. Some of you guys on here get real touched or let your emotions flow over nothing, but Im glad I got under your skin if that is the case, get some thicker skin. We should have and emotional label on this site like dont respond to this guys topic feeling opposite from him or he will just get upset and go off on you. To each its own, its not a cocky Im better answer than you but if that is how you took it then sorry for offending you.You read it that way so that is the way it comes out, I cant control that only you can I know how I meant it and definantly not to put anybody down but no matter what you cant please them all. #1, You're Absolutely Right. no, that's overkill. When you have a high output alt, that's overkill. I would recommend a single d3100 just for the 3500d but since the 100.4 is also in play, i'd look at getting about 150aH worth of batt from XS Power. If going with Kinetik, i'd look at gettin around 200aH.
  10. Thanks Chuck!! Glad you got your parking pass back man, sorry my phone died - and I will post pics of your build in a bit.

You can make something 72 point font and big flashing red letters and they will still miss it and not understand it. The only way you will make anybody listen is if a little guy locks the screen up and yells at them with a megaphone so they cannot 'X" off of it. ...which might be an idea...
  12. I really like this build, nice simple and clean . I wish I kept the pictures from all my previous builds.
  13. You really don't want any vibration damper for a pure SPL car. Vibration dampers eat energy. If you only care about numbers on a meter, find a better way to reinforce the panels to prevent energy loss to panel motion and deformation.

You call me "so critical over nothing" yet ironically you're the one who ran to the internet to laugh at a guy for mispronouncing the name of a product. Because he's a competitor, he's supposed to be aware of every product available? He probably just competes in smaller shows where the lesser known brands aren't prominent. Stop being so critical over nothing.
  16. Dont mind the braces, I get to the epoxy on it later almost done
  17. Do work son! Get this thing built!!
  18. I've already built 2 systems with that chip so far so i've got some OC knowledge about that design. If you ever interested in really seein the performance increases your setup can do, let me know. You 're gonna need a Thermalright Ultra 120 xTreme Black Edition with 1 fan for it. DO NOT GET THE COPPER VERSION! (if u do, you must lay the pc down on it's side as it's too heavy) Anyways, that heatsink + fan holder and fan is gonna run bout $100 so if u wanna consider oc-in it, just let me know. You got the right type of board to do it. We can push your FSB up from that 1333 to over 1600 and that will allow your memory read\write speeds to sky rocket even when maintaining stock speeds. Also, if you haven't been tinkerin with your BIOS memory settings yet, your memory may only be runnin at 1333 as well since the SPD values will always default memory speeds to a slower speed than rated.(bastards, lol). I just wouldn't suggest OC'ing with stock fan, not a godo idea on Intel chips. On AMD you can cuz they overrate their speeds drastically.. therefore they run cooler at their "supposed" speeds. If you want, you can always bump your memory speed up to it's 1600mhz rated speed on stock equipment, i just wouldnt do anything else until the cooling system has been upgraded.
  19. An 8" woofer will play the exact same notes as an 18" woofer. Size does not matter, the only factor that changes is output. With an 18" woofer though it will play the same notes with less "work" vs. smaller woofers, making it sound less "sloppy".
  20. Another question is what is your budget for subwoofer, amplifier if you want to get a new one and what electrical upgrades have you done or are willing to do?
  21. 1 point
Srlsy? We have to ask someone else why you don't like them? ROFL
  22. Anything else going in there besides subs and amps?
  23. I'd say get 2 AQ1200's and strap them for 2400 rms @ 2 ohms x2
  24. 1 point
I think it would be better if you continued the discussion related to the amp and subs in the thread you already have open about the amp and subs instead of opening a new thread to ask that question.
  25. I remember your carpet around your subwoofers from your previous pos t awhile back. Im glad to see you got your upgraded amp, did you ever get the issues you had with your subs and box fixed?
  26. 1 point
Some of them on here dont understand the correlation at all.
  27. 1 point
Why is this in the FI section and not under the amplifiers section? I wouldnt buy one of there amps.
  28. Expect the shop to butcher the hell out of your active settings. * I don't see a processor in your list either, you are going to need one.
  29. Imagine that no, reply.
  30. 1 point
Xmax is nice, but it is not the only parameter that determines the performance of a subwoofer. . . Just the box design alone can determine how much of that Xmax you really even need.
  31. Seriously? You are the one refuting science, why should we go into Aural 101for you? Let's make this more productive and why don't you tell us how humans can perceive where an omnidirectional source is that is playing only below 40Hz. Then we can continue.
  32. So your saying that in my cut sheets just change the port length #2 piece to 17". Does anything else need to change besides that and the volume?
  33. I want it tuned a little lower, really between 30hz if you can get it accurate.
  34. See I knew I was messing up or the enclosure program I was using wasnt right. Well Im trying to get a rear firing port and subwoofer enclosure (17"H x 33"W x 21''D=max dimensions) double baffle, between 3.75-3.85ft^3 @ 30-31z.
  35. People have put subs in their doors before. By the time you add the weight of a subwoofer, amplifier, fiberglass/etc.....you may be in need of new door hinges. You also have to consider the subwoofer you plan to use and if you can work an adequate enclosure into the door. Are you wanting to do this just for the "wow" factor?
  36. They probably didnt respond since they wont be showing you anything.

Sweet build man, what are the specs of that box? What are the numbers it put up?
  38. Yeah I hate bad drivers or people who are just to impatient to wait, especially the ones who jump in front of you turning from a side street or shopping plaza when there is nobody behind you.
  39. who the hell is voting jay cee down, don't worry i got your back
  40. You guys are getting closer and closer, looking good .
  41. Yeah congrats, I see some of you guys have some real interesting jobs. I do local installs in the area for now, looking for a job but not really. I decided just to go back to school and get my Master's Degree, why not when they will pay for education and training right now for almost any job. Good luck to all unemployed on landing jobs and the ones not certain about there current 9-5 jobs.
  42. x2, you can hook it up to either set of +,- speaker terminals on the amp and it will work.

What kind of idiot breaks into a car and takes the head unit when there is a $700 amp and two $350 subs in the back. If I was a criminal I'd at least steal the stuff worth stealing
  44. Congrats on the job you landed Duran.
  45. that's rough Who are you telling, feels like Im naked when Im driving around like Im missing something.
  46. My ears havent seen any action since October, it is time for an eargasm (I need to hurry up and build a box).
  47. Thats what I need to do, get a job. Thats the main goal for this month and next month at the latest. You need monies for earsex! Among other things, but yes for earsex as well. Im loving that word, already used once and will have to store it in my vocabulary for future use (just letting you know ahead of time).
