  1. Big power out of 1 amplifier chassis of korean and/or chinese descent = big problems for speakers. The only way you CAN do it properly is how jbl/crown did it with the A6000GTi which was an a/b amplifier. Bigger and bigger class D switching power supplies, and H bridge motor controller amplifiers will yield nothing but problems and hell on speaker parts. My grandmother always said "If you don't want to listen boy you'll have to feel..." SWITCHING FREQUENCY OF THIS "GREAT" CLASS D TECHNOLOGY MICROWAVES THE VERY SPEAKER PARTS THAT THE AMPLIFIER WAS NEVER DESIGNED FOR! ..it works great on a resistor...until you put it in the real application that it belongs in...then 1+1 makes 3...and speakers die. :shakes head...walks away:
  2. there are many batteries that can't be used as starting batteries. They have maybe enough CCA/CA but if the electrical reserve is not high enough you can damage the battery when you pull to much from it. Deepcycle AGM batteries shouldn't be discharged more then 50%. So if it's below 0 outside, you have a little bit weak CCA and you use the car a lot during the winter to do small trips to the store. Then you'll probably discharge it below 50% if you do not use a battery charger, this will shorten the lifespan of your battery. I have used a Kinetik HC800 as a starting battery on my 1.8l engine, it works ok, a bigger battery would be better. Especially if you have a big engine. you can read a little bit about battery types here: Deep Cycle Battery FAQ
  3. RD is great quality ? Based on the business practices of RD, rd and ssa shouldn't be in the same phrase. "oh, we're going to call back all the amps and you have to take a hit because of our fuck-up"
  4. You can bet that people are going to break these. Excesive vibration, wiring too low or low voltage aren't things that should be covetred by warranty. Curious to see the guts on the AB1100.1 and the SPL dyn version...I sure hope it isn't another discussion like the bxi2608 vs aq2200 and there is real proof that they are different.
  5. 1000 watts will probably b fine on stock electrical. the q and the w7 are probably fairly close in all aspects.
  6. Two things. No more ellipses. Your "sentences" aren't understandable when you type that way and it is probably a good portion of the antagonism you feel. And as for pointing in the right direction, that is what we are doing. If Robert promotes the PA2 it is a fucking joke. Completely unecessary product at this point. In fact EVERYTHING is not helpful to the OP unless he has a current situation that he is dealing with and wants to make better. EQ's in the wrong hands just cause problems and do not help the sound.
  7. Stop taking everything I type personally and there is no problem. You offered to sell something before having enough posts. Normally I just delete those posts and probably should have as it is a blatant defiance of the board rules you agreed to. Also offering to help in PM's only states you are trying to hide. Not a good way to help anyone if you ask me as it just smells shady. Throw your opinion in public. As for "speaking for itself", the PA2 is a line driver with a few EQ bands. Without knowing what anomalies the OP has in his system offering it as a solution is flat out wrong. On top of that with today's stereos there really is no need for a line driver. Add one more thing the eq settings and availability on the PA2 are crap. Overpriced paperweight IMO as even a fairly low cost headunit can have significantly better offererings for what the OP needs.
  8. You don't have enough posts to sell anything on this board. Please read the rules. And to the OP, do not ever buy something from someone new on a board via PM. Dangerous. Not saying there is anything wrong with this guy but with no history I'd advice HIGHLY against it. Plus notice how he didn't offer to answer your question, but just to sell you something?
  9. Hard to recommend an eq without knowing what you need to eq for. If you just "want" one then you'll need one for each set of rca's that you want an eq on. Personally I'd recommend just changing your headunit if you really need one, but again knowing what frequency anomalies you want to deal with would help.
  10. The one you pick! Seriously with a question like that it is impossible to tell you! Do this....Buy both, test them, pick the one you like the best and sell the other one. Then give us your review and then we will all know! SPL and SQ are totally different. If you're looking for a good "daily" subwoofer then look through the SSA store, a lot of great products to chose from with great customer service from the owners of the products and the members here will be able to advise you better as well. Not trying to call you out, but lately there have been way to many "This vs. That" type of threads and it wears on people
  11. Yea man. I think its something to do with the coils IMHO. I think am going to get a recone from Fi or possible get a Hybrid made. I always woundered what difference in sound would there be with a motor from one company and soft parts from another. But anyways, thanks for all the input out there.
  12. lol thats not a fair comparison. two 4500s new would cost way more than an AQ10k brand new. im pretty sure almost everyone on here would also rather have two 4500s, but its just not a fair comparison.
  13. 2-3 mth old thread, but dont sleep on RD products nor SSA. Am good friends with ppl that use both products. All I can say is dont jugde a book by its cover, dont speak what you dont know, and try both before talking S$!t like ive heard lots of ppl do on this and many other sites. Both products are great quality, its just user decision on what they want. Just my 2 cents.
