  1. I've been working with a friend on this project for a bit of time. It's an option to the termlab. It's not the russian meter, it's our own design. So far we have managed : Lower noise floor than the termlab (and implicitly lower than the russian one), without tricks from the software. VERY close measurements to the termlab. When applying exactly the same pressure on both the TL and this meter differences are very small. Small package At this moment the meter is not comercial. So please don't ask for prices or dates when it will be available Clips versus termlab :

Actually, nobody here knows that as it's never actually been demonstrated or proven. That's not terrible....that's well below the threshold of audibility. Which means you won't hear a any difference between .5% THD and .000001% THD.
  3. Grab a DMM and 100hz test tone. Unplug the subwoofer, set the DMM to Vac and put it on the speaker outputs of the amplifier. With the test tone playing, turn the lowpass crossover knob from minimum to maximum (or vice-versa) and see if the voltage output from the amplifier changes. If not, then it's fairly conclusive that the amplifier is indeed defective.
  4. this is by far the fastest flared port build I have ever done.....it will stay bare wood untill my Crown Amp comes back from repair then I will work on the cosmestics...build the amp rack cover and clean the wiring up not to shabby for only 1200w rms per sub ( EXILE 2400 ) everything on the rear of the enclosure by the hatch is for the front stage..(mids n tweets ).. two Exile Xi 800.4's running two channel briged ( 400w rms x 4 )
  5. Don't strap them at .5 ohm. You're just asking to fry the amps. That's the same as .25 ohm each.
  6. lol thats true. i dont know any forum where this term makes so much trouble. That's because it's so subjective. If he wants more low end and already has a ported box, that means he likes an overly exaggerated low end, which means a big hump in the frequency response between 30-50 hz. To somebody else, "SQ" means having a completely flat frequency response over the subbass range and likely using a sealed box to do so.
