alright this car has seen quite a few different systems in its life and im gettin tired of changing so i figured do one big one to get it done. here are the specs of the build. car-1998 dodge neon HU-Alpine IVA-D900 Mids- 2 Mach 5 audio mli's tweets- have them dotn know name. mid amp- proto type i bought of ca.com(not hooked up yet.) Subs- 4 10" SSA Dcons!!!! Sub amp- 1 Audiopipe 1501d at 1ohm box- custom 2.9 per side clamshell tuned to 30hz also- custom headliner and seats and doors wrapped to match. enjoy! on to the pics in no order cause my camera is stupid.

Because we haven't done it yet... I told you we do recones 1 day per week. We do not want random stuff getting mixed up in production. When you actually manufacture something you do things in runs with new orders for a given period of days..everything is custom built to order. When a sub comes in for a recone we don't drop everything that we are doing and jump right on it to get it done in 8 minutes and have it packed back up and shipped out..that messes up flow process in the build facility. We'll get to it..recones are done 1 day per week and are not top priority as it messes up processes if we stop to do 2 recones in the middle of a build day... Having new orders go out on time or ahead of schedule will always take precedence on a sub in for a recone...that's simply how it is and it isn't going to change because it would make everybody's lives in the build shop and shipping department a lot more difficult

Is your friends ported enclosure the exact same size and tuning frequency? The simple answer for the difference would be that his enclosure, with it's enclosure volume and tuning frequency, is controlling excursion at given frequencies in such a manor that the driver doesn't excurt enough to cause lead slap. If it is supposed to be the exact same size and tuning frequency as yours, then there is something different with your enclosure that is allowing the driver to have more excursion which is causing the slap. EDIT: Missed that your enclosure was sealed. In which case, your friends ported enclosure is limiting excursion around the tuning frequency whereas your sealed enclosure is not (excursion is necessary for output in a sealed enclosure). That is likely the reason why there was no lead slap in your friend's enclosure.....it doesn't have as much excursion at the frequencies where the slap is occurring.

I believe those amps have only been out a couple months at most, and as you can see they are presently out of stock for another 2 months (I assume the first run sold out and are waiting on the 2nd run). So you aren't going to find many people with experience with them. I'm not sure what impedance you are running, or why you only need 40w.....but since it's for a subwoofer you would probably save a little money by going with one of the low powered Dayton plate amps; http://www.parts-exp...FTOKEN=20242447 And I would agree with the others.....I wouldn't recommend going with a tube amp. The low damping factor as a result of the high output impedance has the greatest effect on the low frequencies.

I would look elsewhere. I don't think you could even get a kit anymore for that, and if so, it probably would be a small single ended amp. When you are talking that power, you are looking into at least push-pull with EL34s or something similar. Additionally, the dampening on tube amps (especially something cheap with a cheap output transformer) can be poor at those frequencies. I built hundreds of tube amps working for Audioprism/Redrose music in the early 90s. Buy a cheap plate amp and make a cool box for it if you want to go DIY. It'll work well and you'll be much happier.

I just don't feel it lol That's like getting a $1,000,000 bill/payment that you didn't agree to, or did you? The worlds population is growing at 90,000,000/year and we still can't take care of the people that are already here. We don't need more people, we're nowhere near prepared for +90,000,000/year (and that's going up). I'm pretty sure we have kids to feed our egos, to give someone something that we never had, and that's wrong, it's evil. Everytime you have a kid you drag an innocent soul down here from heaven to inhabit this horrible place. I'm glad this new generation is more advanced, I think when all the 20 year olds of today are 50 they'll still be like they're 20 - stress free, humorous, and smart. Don't have a life-epiphany in the room and pass out like Jung, congratulations. I'm supposed to have 2 kids by the time I'm 28. I'm not going to lie to them. I don't want kids and the only reason I ever would is because if it's true that they want to be here, than it's true that I'm one of the best choices they could make, and I'm sure if I say no they'll move on to some shit parent and that scares me.
