Why not get dual 2 ohm SSD instead? it would be cheaper to get an amp in your price range. And you sure you can fit a good size box for that 15" in a mustang trunk? Its a bitch to get any box in that trunk besides building it inside the trunk. And why are you gettin that brutus 1200d amp? That's not 1000 watts at 2 ohms. lol. If you're looking for a cheap amp for near 1000 watts at 2 ohms then get an Audiopipe ap15001D. You can get these for under 200 shipped.

Doesn't sound like you made the right decision on that head unit. You should do some more research to truly find one that fits your needs instead of one that fits 50% of them. You still have a hackjob going on in your install.

BTL = peaky and doesn't drop worth beans but great for spl or just plain loud....models terribly on the graph Xcon = flatter response ,drops lower and has much better note seperation and tone definition .....less DB output than the BTL but much more musical...models really nice on the graph

Tested this particular amp for about 3 hours on the bench just to be sure it was good to go and it worked flawlessly. You really need to check your speaker wires and coils etc. Not saying the amp couldn't have some other problem other than what we fixed, it could, it is after all just a piece of consumer electronics, built on an assembly line in Korea probably by children.... So anything could happen you wouldn't believe some of the things I have seen come in here straight from the factory.... Do check everything in your install well, usually when outputs fail repeatedly in someones amp and we end up warrantying it like 3-5 times for the customer (loosing our ass on it BTW almost not worth doing at some point) it turns out to be they have a bad woofer coil they didn't know about, even on brand new woofers it's possible, or a screw through a speaker wire somewhere, speaker wire stuck too far through a push in terminal on the speaker and shorting to the basket, etc. Check it good, and no need to post this kind of crap on these forums, it really is only to start shit it serves no other purpose, even suggesting that we didn't fix your amp is just overly completely stooopidly ridiculous, ask the hundreds of happy dB-r refurb customers on this message board, maybe that will "ease" your mind a little bit. We have a system for you to use if you have problems here on our website: http://www.db-r.com/cs/ please use it. Sorry if I seem a little "pissed", it's just that we are so damned good at repairing these things that it almost always turns out to be the customers fault, and when I see posts like this one discussing whether we actually fixed your amp or not or ever tested it before sending it back to you, it really pisses me off. You see how many people have come to our defense here, it's because we have done them right, we don't screw people over, you can STOP worrying about that. I think just the fact that I am willing to come here in public and give you hell about this should be enough proof to you that we are not out to screw nobody over.

well i havent killed anything yet to date so i must be doing something right, i just would like to know how it will do with daily abuse and how many people have ran them deathrows at 3000 rms daily. Little benefit to running them both, other than more money in wires, more space taken up and more time installing. The audible difference between 2kw & 1500w is only 1.25db at best, under ideal conditions.....by the time you factor in power compression, the difference is going to be well below the threshold of audibility.

Either, doesn't matter. They're fairly similar in power output, either could destroy your sub just as easily as the other with the wrong finger on the volume knob. It's all about how you set/use the gain.

I know a very nice amp is the Alpine PDX 1000.1s but be careful if u use this amp... It also does 1000w @4ohm so if you decide to go crazy with the volume control... this amp has plenty of juice to do some damage as i can visually forsee in many people's futures.

you can easily get a used saz-3000d for ~550 dollars.

And refurbed for the same price. i would rather have a black than a very gold amplifier but do what you want.
