It's funny that people like to make big claims about a product and then get defensive when everyone doesn't jump head-over-heals about it. If you want to have a discussion about the products where claims such as "made his with all their positives and none of there flaws" go uncontested you should probably find another forum to host the thread, as that's not what this forum is about. On this forum, when BS claims are made they are going to be pointed out and critical questions are going to be asked. This forum is about educating the member base, cutting through the BS and not falling for marketing statements. There are plenty of much more gullible and less critical forums out there upon which the type of discussion you wish to have can be hosted. But don't expect it to happen here.
  2. A friend of mine from work listened to my setup about two weeks ago, he said he wanted better sound in his car but couldn't spend much, I asked his budget and he gave me ~$300 as a limit, so I told him I'd get something for him. I worked on a design, and approached him with a 12" SSA DCON S4, a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, and an enclosure 2.25 cubes tuned to 32 Hz. He liked it, and gave me the go ahead. The amplifier was the first to arrive, no pictures of it though because it was shipped to his house. Then we got the DCON, and I much say it's an impressive driver. I wouldn't consider it entry level at all! It is extremely well built, now time for the woofa porn My dog approves Mark and Aaron! Then we started working on the enclosure: Test fitting the top: Painting the port: Test fitting the woofer: How it rests currently: He wanted to paint it black temporarily, and carpet it later on. I'm trying to talk him into letting me build an amp rack on the side of the hatch, I think he'll break down soon since we have plenty of leftover MDF I must say, this DCON is very impressive, being such an overbuilt woofer it is performing far beyond my expectations. It's incredible how loud it gets and sounds SO smooth, I'm jealous of him now. We started playing some rap because I wanted to see the low frequency response, and it was LOW, it didn't take much power to get this woofer to drop and that was impressive, it was equally impressive in the upper frequencies as well, we played some Police and the kick drums were incredible, that's when my friend jizzed in his pants(or so he said).

Actually, they're not the same thing. They're both butyl compounds extruded and rolled up the same way, but they aren't the same butyl compound. There's no doubt that they could be used for some of the same purposes, but I would never suggest that anybody use the product I sell to set a windshield. My Extruded Butyl Rope is the same as the adhesive on the CLD Tiles I sell. It's optimized for vibration damping, not sealing.
  4. welcome to the forum man .....i agree with demin damn nice h.u
  5. best to keep them in the same line but its all up to you since your buying the speakers You keep saying this and I disagree. OP go and listen to some speakers that sound good to you. You may not like a different Alpine in a different size from the same line or a different line fo rhtat matter. There is no reason to stay with one brand or one line from that brand. The worst thing you could do is go buy an alpine set without listening to them just to brand match. Thats crazy!
  6. Tint is pretty much mandatory as far as I'm concerned; interior lasts a whole lot longer and you can use your air conditioning less.
  7. If you don't know if they will handle the power, it's best not to do it.
  8. fyi you should do 3 6inch ports, thatll put you up to almost 17 per. but Round ports are more efficient than square ports. did you tell the DC rep you will be using round ports??? reason being is More air is traveling in open air than against the walls because of the ratio between sqin of port and perimeter of the port.
  9. oh so i believe the formula is L x pi x r squared/1728
  10. with 17 per, there will be no audible port noise. if you go with psps, no turbulence as well.
  11. dude port length depends on port area. DC says 17 per and you got 10 per with the 4s. up to you
  12. wow at this thread. all everyone is trying to do is dog on him. thats what im talking about... and notorious get out, your 7th post is that. fukka you was only here for 2 days and a week and you already talkin shiit.
