  1. We are proud to announce that Stetsom, the Brazilian amplifier company that currently holds the over all SPL record of 181.7 is now joining SSA. We will be selling their product in our store along with housing their forum on SSA. Please help me in giving them a warm welcome to our community! Shop will be updated with products and prices in the next 24-48 hours.
  2. Okay so obvs this is NOT car audio build log, and i couldn't decide if this belongs in the Off Topic or what so fuck it Most people don't know how it's done, a lot of people ask me.. but it's to complicated to explain in a small conversation. So.. what's better then a build log? This is mainly for my SSA brothers and sisters to kill some time This is going to be a Soccer Field in Scottsdale, AZ It's 14 thousand square feet. This was originally an Inline Hockey Rink, but in AZ Soccer is SO much more popular. Pulling the rolls of Turf off the trailer Before we touched anything Dropping the rolls of Turf in place Second roll dropped Keeeeep em coming! Rolling them out Once rolled out we have to cut a strip off on one side Another rolled out! Third one down! FIFTH ONE DOWN! -- We we're kickin' ass! Sixth one downn! One more to go! -- rolled it out right after this picture.. see the roll past the goal? Now start the gluing! This shit willlllll make you a DIRTY STICKY MESS!!!!!!!!! Got Glue?! Spinning the glue More spinning Seam Tape Glue Tray!!! Thank god for this... best 300 dollars ever spent! Field marked for Seam Tape AND WE'RE ON! Waiting for the glue to tac up, rolled out a all the lines Glued down and drying ( don't mind the wrinkle, 30,000 pounds of grounded up rubber flattens them all! ) ( we walked on the seams for better stickiness, thats why the seams look like that ) Tomorrow we will be cutting the circles, goal boxes, and other little things required Here's some random pictures, tomorrow i will have more pictures of progress for you guys! "Cobs" from the rolls of Turf, when these get wet it is a PAIN to roll the Turf out. Backing of the Turf, those rows are called "Bead Rows" Thats us!

  4. So today kind of sucked, we didn't get shit done. There was an issue with the Goal boxes and Scott ( client ) was in a meeting ALL day so we had to hold on on doing them till 11 o'clock at night... Straight up a MILLION bugs everywhere! They LOVED the lights and our sunblock.. it was bad. Here's the pictures! With it being Arizona and all we get a lot of heat wrinkles.. some we have to cut open and trim down and glue back down, no biggie. After we fixed some wrinkles, we centered the field off so we could get out Goal boxes cut out. Cut strips of white Turf for the Goal boxes and such. Laid out where the Goal boxes should be -- This is when we had to wait hours too find out Scott wasn't even going to show up.. -- So, we said the hell with him and continued on with something else.. like picking dry glue off the Seams. After we picked the SHIT out of the Seams we Groomed them. With this beast haha Now, on too the center circle.. Cut and laid in so we can slice relieve cuts ( haha, looks like 3 guys standing around looking at one guy working ) On with more gluing, oohhhh joy haha. Glue ready Glue placed in for Center Circle After we laid the glue down and everything for the Center we ended up cutting and gluing the Goal boxes in
  5. Box for the subs he has now OP, what don't you like about the subs you have now? what kind of box are they in? Dudes are so quick to tell him to buy a new sub without finding out why he doesn't like what he currently has.

What kind of truck do you have? How much power do you have? What do you listen to? And what do you want out of the woofer?
  7. Please reference our tech center, that will answer any questions you have on XCON box types. Also the XCON page would be of help as well. Sound Solutions Audio - Technical Center | Enclosure Designs http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/xcon.html
  8. All done To the person that asked we use the V&S spray glue. It is really strong!!! Andrew
  9. ^X2 Patience is the best thing you can have when installing your own gear. Take your time and you will see the results of a job well done. I have blown up far more things trying to rush through something because I couldn't wait to hear it only to have to rip it all out and start over when something went wrong. Like Sir-Lance said, look through the build logs, get a feel for what it takes to tackle a project and be realistic with your skills when starting one. It never hurts to push the envelope on your skill set and look at it this way, if it doesn't work out, you didn't fail, you just found a way that won't work! (I have found literally hundereds of ways that won't work, but it only takes one to get it right) Good luck and here is a good website to browse... Basic Car Audio
  10. There's nothing wrong with doing it, it doesn't inherently hurt the speaker. Yes it will halve the speaker's power handling, and change several of the speaker's T/S specs. And yes, woofers are that inefficient.
  11. Just remember that half of the reason most people aren't happy with their component choice is because of their install... or lack there of. You absolutely cannot slap a brand new set of speakers in a factory car door and expect them to sound phenomenal. You have to deaden, seal and prep the door accordingly.
  12. How are they going to be rated on stock electricals when every stock system is different? Your car has an 80 amp alt, mine has a 130. How do you think that changes things? And to get 4000 watts from that amp you'll need about 450 amps of current. How is your 80 amp alt going to do that? Being "power hungry" is a relative term that is thrown out the window when you're talking about 4000 watts. What's the difference at that level if the amp is 80% efficient and pulls 450 amps or 90% efficient and pulls 420 amps? You're still pulling 400+ amps. Not gonna matter.
