  1. Your enclosure volume is less then what you stated, and the port might not work. The way the enclosure and port is configured there will be more then likely dead space along the port on the top of the box that wont count in the box volume. The port also is ending right at the bend which might make it act funny. Not to mention you more then likely wont be able to mount the sub where you have it in the pic.
  2. happyyy b-day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would be lost without you guys
  3. I've only just recently taken some steps into car audio but I've learned fast enough that SSA is by far the best forum out there, doesn't have all this BS crap a lot of others do. I thank Mark and Aaron for making some exceptional speakers and for making an awesome community.
  4. I would never use anything that doesn't have a flat back to the screw head. Deck and drywall screws don't cut it as far as I'm concerned. Those are for building boxes. Sheetmetal screws are much better for mounting speakers. They have more contact area on the speaker frame and you aren't going to distort the frame when you tighten it down.
  5. Thanks guys Next year i have to remember to bring a bunch of ssa flyers with me some folks heard the setups in the civic and the rsx and were extremely interested in the icon and xcon
  6. oh yeah..forgot these a friend of mine from canibeat.com shot these after the event
  7. moar other photos Black civic to the left has 2 12" icons on a sundown 300, rsx has a xcon 15 sealed on a sundown 1500
  8. Pushing the product is only a small part of my job online. my main purpose here is to help people with their sound deadening questions, and to recomend what products will help them with their specific issues. naturally, i'm going to recomend Second Skin as a first choice, but like i said, pushing the products not the only thing i'm here to do. AX Then why the fuck did you buy the company bro? I understand ANT wanted to sell, thats fine. But its bullshit to sell to someone who seems to think that this is fun and games. Sorry but people take their addictions seriously. Just like a crack head loves his rocks, audio enthusiasts love their deadener. If the dealer goes to shit the business goes away. Lets take this to PM's beacuse I dont want to clutter your thread anymore. J

just so you know, adhesion has asolutely no direct benefit to sound deadening. so long as the product sticks to where it's been applied, more adhesive doesn't help you sound deaden your vehicle AX I said that about the adhesion because when I stick something somewhere I like it to stay. That's certainly a requirement, but it's a very low standard to meet. You are right to point out that it can't always be assumed to be the case for products sold for this purpose. Once we pass that minimum threshold, the formulation of the adhesive becomes critical. "Butyl" covers a very wide range of materials Just being butyl based does not mean the adhesive was designed for vibration damping. The performance difference between an adhesive designed for vibration damping and those designed for other purposes is huge. Most butyl compounds intended for construction perform no better than asphalt, except that they will stick and are unlikely to fail when exposed to heat. I don't know anything about the adhesive used in this product except what I've seen in their previous products, so I'm not assuming anything. Just that "sticking" tells us nothing and should be expected.
