  1. Of course, what kind of complaint is that? Every sale by every company is done with the intent to increase traffic, exposure and customer base. Do you think companies give up large amounts of profit margin simply to be "nice" one day a year? No, they do it for the ancillary benefits to themselves. That's common sense and basic business. The IA comps were on sale for a very short time for $40. They can't sell very many as they are losing money on the sale, but hopefully gaining customers, traffic and exposure in the process. If you're miffed because you missed out on the sale, tough luck. "It is what it is".
  2. let me just take a second and say THANK YOU SSA (MARK AND AARON) FOR DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR EVERYONE!! and i did not get to take advantage of it.. but its really nice knowing that it was a possibility ... says alot about you guys.. and im hoping that those who did get to take advantage of it , were regular members of SSA and not some one who came because of an email or a member that have 15 post here in the last year....
  3. i see alot of members BITCHIN like little bitches.. but i dont see yall here any other day.... so what what does that tell you about your self. go cut your self.
  4. we are trying to get the server up to par to handle such huge traffic bursts, once we feel confident that is done, we will announce the next one.
  5. Adrian, I would recommend weight lifting 3 times a week. If you can do more that is awesome but it's hard to coordinate a work out split past 3 a week for most people. M, W, F is usually what people naturally fall into. You want to split your work out into one muscle group per day. So Monday chest and shoulders, Tuesday Back, and Friday legs. Seth is 100% right about doing compound movements. So benching, deadlifting and squats are your holy trinity. I like dips much more than benching for chest development, but to each their own. Something generic that I really feel has merit is anytime you are moving your body through space with resistance it's going to be a better work out than moving just weight through space. An example would be Squats vs leg press, or deadlift vs a rowing machine. If you can find a spotter, go to failure and aim for about 10 reps. Make sure you really warm up and LIGHTLY stretch before lifting. Save the hard stretching for after your workout. Your muscles will be filled with blood and it will really help stretch out. Stretching really hard before a work out makes you a little more prone to injury and will hold you back from lifting your potential. Once you get comfortable with lifting I would switch to aiming for 6 reps untill failure. I landed at 6 reps to be the perfect happy medium for heavy lifting. 3 rep max lifting is too tough on the body to do every week in my opinion. It's just not something sustainable in a work out. For me it also makes each set last for 8-15 seconds, and that's that explosive power time frame. Breath in on your negative motions and breath out on your "work" motions. Lots of people naturally hold their breath while straining. Try not to. It's a great technique to squeeze out a giant mega ultra push but it makes it a lot harder in the long run. YMMV. My room mate always holds his breath and it held him back for a long time. He needed to try some breathing techniques before he could start controlling his lifting. If you have any specific questions post 'em. Seth is on top of it, and I will give you any help I can. As for food, untill you tell us specifics just make sure you get sugar in your body within 15 min after your work out and try to get a gram or more of protein per pound of body weight for now. If you notice anything once you get that down, speak up and I'll help you find a happy spot. A high quality multivitamin is a great addition too.
  6. Mark and Aaron this Outrageous Deal was a great idea! I was not able to buy anything, but I enjoyed looking for the sale item on my phone and it helped pass my night at work. Hell we were acting like it was a scavenger hunt to see who could find it first.
  7. 1 point
    Scott owns it.
  8. I finally found mine. For some reason all my ssa email was going to my spam folder. Got it fixed so that shouldn't happen. Yeah the outrageous deals were pretty crazy but still some good black friday deals thru tomorrow
  9. Agreed^^^^ and why else would they give things away and lose money. To get more TRAFFIC and get more people to try out their forum and products.
  10. ..... And does that surprise you? It's all in the name of business and increasing traffic to the SSA Store. The more people you get to the store the better chance of selling product at a profit. Doing the "Outrageous Sale" was/is a great idea. Sure SSA lost money on a few comp sets but the increase in store traffic will pay dividends in the end.
  11. Thank God, some companies, like Sundown for example, change stuff up so often it becomes annoying. I ordered a SAZ-2000 about 2 month after they released, 3 months later I wanted another. And poof, they are discontinued. So 5 months after initial release they are gone...... This is one advantage companies like Kicker, JL, and Rockford have over "most" smaller companies. They keep the same product for 2-3 years. I don't think I have to worry about my ZCON's changing much in the next few months, because SSA kicks ass.
  12. Can't even get to checkout. Damn errors.. I'm done
  13. Not going to lie, it's pretty shitty to send an email About the deal 2 and a half hours after it ended.
  14. My email was dated for today at 8:26 PM EST. Never have I had a problem receiving emails.

Why buy an SQ driver only to wanna push that much shitty power to it?
  16. Excuse me? All I'm suggesting is to reach even more people, since they're considering doing this type of promotion again, they should send out a notice a few days, maybe even a week in advance on the site home page / newsletter subscriber base to really hype up the event and get people excited. You may be a forum faithful and you may want to keep these deals for yourself, but there's also a business side / product exposure that can be gained from this but hey, maybe you just don't get that. Oh and by the way, I've been watching the deals since Friday, so just like you I haven't missed a thing. I think they've been outstanding, especially the "Outrageous" deals that a few members have been able to catch. Unheard of. Thanks for your input! Or you should visit the site more often, or maybe even contribute to the site. Dont complain about a sale you missed regardless of the conditions. I dont want to keep these deals to myself, I could care less about sales. If I cant afford it at the regular price then I dont deserve it at the discounted price. My first comment wasnt even directed to you but thanks for feeling guilty
  17. I want to update my build log thread title. Can I do it and if so how?
