  2. Some of you may remember the build I did for my sister in her 2002 Durango and the resulting review I wrote for her 12" DCON afterward, may not. It currently consists of a Kenwood KDC-X493 HU, Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 components in the front, JBL GTO 6.5" coax's in the rear doors, the DCON all powered by a Hifonics ZXi8010 five channel amp. Now, I mentioned in the review that it was easy to reach the limitations of the amp and hear it through either the highs or the sub. We did a little playing around recently and connected that DCON to my Sundown in the van and there was a night and day difference. I would attribute most of that to the MAJOR headroom the SAZ2K has at 2 ohms over the rating for the sub, but even at lower volume levels it showed the amp seemed as though it was pretty limited on clean power. So that sparked a month long search for a suitable replacement five channel amp that would give better performance without breaking the bank. I ran across an amp that I thought would be a very suitable replacement, was at a fantastic price BNIB on EBay compared to the same amp at other online retailers, and was a brand that I've been wanting to try out for awhile so she ordered it. I thought I'd share the pictures of the new arrival, a Cadence F100-5. I am really surprised by how heavy it is. Shipping weight was 22.8lbs and it feels it too. Should be a great amp for her if Cadence's reputation follows this line like it does some of the others. This thing is rated 100wrms x 4 @ 4 plus 300wrms x 1 @ 4 or 500wrms x 1 @ 2 for the sub. Not a bad pick up for $170 IMHO and that even includes a 4AWG wiring kit that hasn't shipped yet.
  3. Yes led is the way to go, you will like it. Just my 2cents, maybe for a bit more the 65 may be the way to go if you have the room.
  4. I have the same TV Jared, I love it. It's worth the extra dough, in my opinion.

Yes as it has RCA inputs on it. You will have to buy the cord seperately
  6. I assume you're looking for advice for your own system. If that is the case, you can help us out by telling us what car you have, the dimensions of the space you're willing to dedicate to your sub stage, what amplifiers you have (if any), what enclosure you have (if any), etc. Someone could name some really nice subs, but they might not work in your particular situation.
  7. Welding Wire is the best deal for 0 gauge. Good quality stuff too. However, that being said, I do run KnuKonceptz and it works well for me. But if I went back in time, i would choose welding wire instead.

I am trying to figure out the feasibility of supplying 1.21 giggawatts in a car.

You're making cooling towers for amplifiers?
  10. the plasti-dip comes in all colors.... like i said, best thing since sliced bread haha
  11. Subs are back for sale. Switching to 4 15s. 900 shipped for both obo
  12. im done with this motherfucker.

To support a 5k amp you need more than a 250a. You know this. Why would you, or anybody, buy a 5K amp and not plan on using it? Just to say oyu have it? I never mentioned not using it. Realistically if your playing music, the impedance in the circuit will be varying all the time, so you won't be drawing the max current 24/7. Between his alternator and his battery reserve, his electrical should be up to par. Sure he'll likely experience some slight voltage drop, but that doesn't mean his batteries will go dead, he'll get stuck on the side of the road, or his ecu will fry.
  14. If you can't get them ON axis it is really NOT a good idea. I can, as long as the OD is under 3.5". Now if I decided to go with a bigger midrange (~4"), then see below. The stage height improved immensely when I placed the tweeters up on the dash, I'm curious if the tweets were aimed differently in the kicks if that could achieve similar results. Though I thought even if they were a bit off in the kicks, the stage height wouldn't have affected. Otherwise I could always put a midrange + tweeter in the kicks, that won't take up much room, and I could use the on-board amp on the ms8 for the tweets. Definitely different aiming in your kicks can do the same. 4" is rather big for in car, but I LOVE my TB's. Getting them on axis and potentially in an enclosure is a much higher priority. the TB's are fucking fantastic in my kicks.
  15. Trying another design. Angled front this time around. It's still in the 2.75cuft neighborhood if the math is right and gets the viewing window up to 11" of viewing area. I don't have a saw worth a crap for doing angles, so anybody who does some professional box building who's got some insight on this one, please chime in or PM me.
  16. I'd have to say its the fuel pump. IDK how many ford rangers I've done that had the 4.0L engine which is the same engine in the Explorers but they are notorious for fuel pump problems, I've done IIRC at least 6-8 ranger fuel pumps and 2 explorers fuel pumps. As far as your voltage dropping its also can be related to your fuel pump again, being most cars have a set minimum idle of 750rom +/- 50 rpm from what I know as your engine starves for fuel your engine will of course lose rpm which in turn slows down your alternator and causes a loss of charging system output. But thats just my 2cents. hope you fix it.
  17. thanks for pointing that out. here ya go. ill take 1100 shipped for all of it !!
  18. they are being uploaded now, within 5 minutes, the 2 icp links on the bottom of first post will work again... Murder Go Round's peaks shifted some.. Now it peaks at 39hz, 31hz and anything else in the mid to high 20 range.
  19. Leave the amps alone. Jeez. No need to change it every 2.3 months.
  20. Loyal to some one because of their baskets? Lol
  21. It's quite necessary as we are actually shifting manufacturing facilities... while I'm at it I am improving them as I'd need to re-tool anyway. Going to a Chinese manufacturer?

No way I could fit 3 in straight row. I have 45" width, 32" heighth, 17" deep, to play with And thats after about 2" wood on top, bottom, left, right, front, back.

Lol it is between the 21s and 15s... The 3 18s is out of the question lol
  25. After a number of years we are finally on there. It is pretty simple, as posts increase and membership does to, so will the ranking. You can check out the listing here > SSA Ranking on Big-boards.com Just nice to see a quality audio site listed in the rankings. Plus the 'Post Per Member' ranking is very good.
