  1. Dumb fuck is dumb, troll is gonna be a troll. I find it funny, a few years ago it was SSA subs cost too much and now its Fi. Bro we know your a DD nuthugger so this isnt a suprise coming from you. Whats funny is that you think Fi owes you an answer about their Neo prices going up but your to dumb to notice they are not the only company that took a hit, i guess you didnt notice IA is not selling Wardens anymore. Price of neo going up has nothing to do with China hoarding it, its because all these hybrid and electric engines. They are made of neo and are taking the large amount of supply with their demand for it. Everybody wanted more fuel efficient cars these last few years and came at a price, the raising cost of neo. On a side not how do you feel abot the 1800 dollar price tag of the DD Z, let me guess well worth it.
  2. With a name like Chris the man, you have no right to ask such a question! You have proven time and time again that your nothing but a douche! Go suck your DD nuts and leave this quality forum and it's vendors to people that have an appreciation for the products and company intrests. Nobdy owes you an explanation on why neo has gone up or even acknowledge your question as to what they pay for neo.

A single 1/0 copper run can support 300 at failure... Only passes 100 or so under standard duty. Good rule is 100a per run. In a 350a alt you won't stop seeing DB gains untill the 5th run. My .02

would you mind posting this chart?

Chart i have here states in open air wiring (not tunneling it through conduit), copper 1/0 can handle up to 290A but at 221F... That's ridiculous hot... Car audio wants least voltage drop. Most of us are aware of what a cable can handle.. but the lowest voltage drop is always best. According to calculator, single 4/0 cable run at 200A (when hot and maxed out) will exhibit a 0.3v drop in the rear. This is only when maxing alternator out... At that point.. you will be well into the 13.0-13.6v range already. So, yes, single 4/0 run for each is fine.

4 runs of 4/0 is pretty excessive IMO Im running 2 runs of positive and 1 run of negative for my 320a alt.

Running that much power I would try for at least two power two ground. However this is coming from someone who has never had more than 3k. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

You will be fine. A single run of 1/0 full spec copper will support over 300 amps of current. A single run of 4/0 even CCA on a 220a would be more than sufficient.
  9. It's about time I can legally drink.
  10. To show how increasing the input voltage really does nothing for output.
  11. If I were in charge of Fi, I'd charge more. A lot more. They could and I doubt it would affect the sales all that much. Pretty funny that the OP starts the thread to rip Fi on pricing and has pictures of DD in his sig. Doesn't take ANY audio education to see the comparison of whose prices are out of whack there....
  12. If space isn't an issue, I'd rather use a larger enclosure and less power. Less power, and perhaps you wouldn't need to spend additional money on batteries or h/o alts.

  14. Stop feeding the troll. No matter how much you explain, he's just going to bitch/cry/whine/complain. And to top it off, he's an idiot. As the saying goes: Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell a difference.
  15. Typing this while bobbing my head, and grinning.
  16. I know when I speak to them on the phone.
  17. First off...you seem like a genuine Fi fan, which is cool, but at the same time you seem like you REALLY don't like Fi. Which is it? I've never seen either Nick or Scott boast their product over another company's product unless directly asked "which subwoofer is better" in which case they reply with the FEATURES of their sub, not downtalking the other sub. I'm not sure why you think that the guys at Fi think they're better than anyone else. Secondly...the price of neo has more than MULTIPLIED BY FIVE, and you're complaining cuz the price ALMOST doubled? Are you serious? They're making less and less money off of each sub and you're upset? I ask you this question, as a serious question.? What do you want them to do? Make less and less money until they go out of business? Just so you can feel better? Look around bro...look at DD prices, look at DC prices. Not Team prices either, because you're not looking at the Team price for the N3. If you feel that Fi is trying to steal from you then just buy a sub from a different company and be happy. EDIT: And if you think people are getting rich off of building subwoofers.....then nothing we say will change your mind.
  18. Also, To the "You need to sell at OEM prices" argument. Absolutely not. OEM work does not involve anywhere near as much work as the Fi product line does. OEM clients buy hundreds of speakers at a time and they are all the same which makes it easy to build and do. Margins are VERY VERY VERY slim doing OEM work in the USA so you have to sell hundreds and hundreds of them in order to make a dollar.. I don't know about you, but I don't think you would like to bust your ass for 10 hours a day and walk home with 50 bucks in your pocket. That doesn't exactly pay the bills and earn you a living.
  19. Consdiering a 20 dollar hunk of neo previously is now 114 dollars..I wouldn't be bitching if I were you. It's still cheaper then anybody else on the market, you can go pay 1800 dollars for a Z series woofer if you would like...that's known as raping the consumer. The price is only adjusted to the cost of materials going up..which EVERYTHING has gone up. We ate it for quite some time while I was there and the reason was waiting until the SP4 and Team versions of the subs were available, or near available. If you don't like it..it's as simple as not buying it. Go pay 1800 dollars for the Z series woofer or 1000-1200 dollars for the DC neo woofer. (and no, i don't work there any longer)
  20. Build is going great! Did you use a single layer for the port length? Should easily do over 150's, maybe even high 50's
