  1. I was looking for team pricing BTW a sponsorship is where a company gives u their product for free to promote them lol never had a sponsorship Sponsorship is any circumstance in which the company gives you a discounted price on a product or other special treatment, sometimes that includes free products. Getting team pricing is a form of sponsorship, and requires justification by the company to give up profit in order to support you as a competitor.
  2. I ordered my IB315's through Fi's website. The ordering process was very easy to navigate. I had contacted Fi Audio one time after ordering and I received a response within six hours. My subs were shipped by FedEx. They arrived at my doorstep efficiently packaged and unharmed. The subs have no scratches, paint chips, excess glue or any other abnormality. The build quality looks excellent without having any extra unneeded cosmetics.
  3. ahh this is priceless... if i owed a speaker company i would not want you to run my subs either.. you will do more damage to my image then help. the more post you make i see why the local shop high sided you . edit: you should go with skar, you will fit right in
  4. i just dont get this guy, where do you get off??? if you go to walmart a bag of chips is 3 bucks..... when you go to the gas station same bag of chips is 5 bucks.... do you get all pissy and call fritolay and tell them that the gas station is trying to rip you off... and you eat chips in your city so you deserve a special "asshole" price " bro"
  5. I have confirmation that he will be running a single DCON 10 and some super tweeters. I shouldn't be giving out this top secret info but the world must know!
  6. Nice Neal. FYI, apparently all it take is 5 doubles of Disarrono and I am FUCKED.
  7. Here's where it sits right now. Not too much more I can do untill my welding cable gets here. Much more room this time. Moved a few things around and will re-route some wires once it arrives. I can now fit 11 group 31s in the trunk + the underhood battery. It's kinda hard to tell anything has even changed. My main goal in here is to streetbeat the best I can so battery bank is key for me.
  8. Woot! Two 15" Icons on their way up to Canada! Time to get loud fairly soon.
  9. Description says it all! Please subscribe if you haven't already and share this video with some friends!
  10. SQ setup, IB in my trunk. Powering them with 1200-1500wrms.
  11. I thought this was going to be another whiney post. Glad to see its not. Glad it worked out so smooth and you had the patience to wait the alotted time. Cheers.
  12. I tell you what, you make mine loud and I'll make yours pretty. lmao
  13. So mad that he posted twice You know those big southern boy's, when they start repeatin'.... RUN
  14. Got it all sealed up and trimmed out. The truck is just plain brutal to sit in. Had several demos / bailouts today and my brother called me 30 minutes after leaving and said "man Im gonna go lay down I still dont feel right after that shit" LMAO
  15. It isn't funny that I picked the ER. It is a super forgiving driver that excels in a 2 way. Great bottom end with some nice midrange as well. And yes, cone material is exactly what typically causes the resonance modes. Fancy cones have audible breakup usually in the lower tweeter range. Obviously if they are high enough up it can be okay, but if the mode has 10dB of gain and your crossover only has it down 6dB you have 4dB of gain where you were expecting a roll off. A notch filter can pull it out completely, but those aren't usually available in a headunit and making one from analog components while not hard is probably beyond the scope of what you want to do. Don't take this the wrong way, but buying that Scan set would be absolutely STUPID if you were running active. A good portion of its cost is in the crossovers and you wouldn't be using them. I also haven't had the best luck with ~7" Scans run in a car door. The Seas do a better job. If it were a 4" mid, then kiss that statement goodbye, but the OP needs a 7 not a mid. That comp set you linked highlights something though that ALL car audio comps suck at....having good crossovers. In general you should figure nearly the same money for drivers and crossover components. So yeah, complete waste to buy a comp set and run it active, but at the same time most car audio sets have a crossover I could build for less than $30 and regularly way less. Now perhaps you know why they all pretty much suck. This doesn't even take into account the compromises they make to make the drivers cheaper in quantity either. Not a single set on the market right now that I like for the money.
  16. The fact that you don't act like you are from here.
  17. Oh man, now you've got Big Jon pissed.
  18. Blood alcohol level and tolerance are not related. You may live near Spirit Lake, but you can't be a MN/IA native... why do you say i can't be a native? born and raised in Fairmont MN, but lived down south by El Paso for about 6yrs Then there is the issue. El Paso. J
  19. looks like another chat log
  20. Blood alcohol level and tolerance are not related. You may live near Spirit Lake, but you can't be a MN/IA native...
  21. love the sled, great brand! thanks for the support! I do a ton of work with Polaris and actually even get my parts direct from Engineering Even if I didn't though they are far superior to everything out there. Cat's break like hell and drive like shit (perhaps the new chassis is better, but I'm no guinea pig), Ski Doo are uncomfortable like hell and are found dead at every corner in the trail, I am not 70 so a Yamaha is a joke, which leaves the bulletproof, easy to work on, amazing parts availability Poo. That and getting darn near 150 hp out of a smallblock no other manufacturer can muster. The only non-Poo engine worth a shit is the AC 800, but I personally prefer the agility of the smaller engines.
  22. Ya I guess its gonna have to be like that from now on. Unfortunately. Gotta find some comps for next ur to go to so I can meter.
  23. Don't bump by your house! I always drive to a nearby empty parking lot when I need to mess with settings.
  24. Sounds like a slow week for me
  25. In the very first response to your thread someone told you the best way to contact Fi.
  26. You don't care about loud but you want to move air??? Oh, it was impressive.Maybe it's just me but I found that I listened to the same tracks on OCD repeat. Stock stereo in Civic right now, and find that I've been able to actually enjoy the music, rather that the result of it, if that makes sense. Huh? You are changing subs because you only listened to a couple songs? If so, easy cure. Turn down the bass.
  27. RMS is NOT a measurement of how good a sub is...in the car audio world "you get what you pay for" could not be any more true. Not being able to afford, or refusing to believe something that costs more than something else does not equate to being ripped off..
  28. If you're only comparing RMS rating and price you really shouldn't be getting team pricing for anything.
  29. Not many companies anymore offer "team pricing" to anybody. I believe there might be a few left, but generally to get any kind of special pricing you need to be either specifically on that manufacturer's team (which is a form of sponsorship), or sponsored specifically by that company. Team pricing is a form of sponsorship in most cases. Since I'm here, I'll try to direct the thread in a useful direction. You need to better define your goals....is this a daily driver, SPL only, or both? How much space do you have to work with? "Slam the lows and still put up decent numbers" is more about the box than the subwoofer.
  30. Not getting TEAM PRICING (since you already corrected me) is getting ripped off?
  31. Please tell me how ssa could possibly be ripping you off.
  32. U assume right smart guy lol I knew there would be a troll in the group gotta love forums I compete within my region I keep it in cali I have been to every single show down here I went to finals last year would have went again this year if Wayne Harris didn't think that Indianapolis was the "half way point" for every one in America but yes I do compete on the regular So the answer to my question was no. Competing regionally "on the regular" is not the question I asked, and isn't justification for a company to give you special treatment. I do believe the "troll" is the one who expects to get special treatment from a company with no real justification. Build a competition record including major wins at national shows and world finals, build respect from other competitors, build respect from companies....and then you can go to companies and ask them for support as you'll then have something you can give them in return.
  33. I assume you have an extensive competition record including wins at major competitions across the nation as well as world finals that justifies your expectation at getting them for "the right price" ?
  34. I found an active repeater usb cable on that monoprice site. im going to try it. thanks for the heads up. hopefully this does it!
  35. First it's to ensure adequate protection against over-driving and potentially damaging the tweeter. Second, generally speaking distortion is lower and frequency response is smoothest outside of the range of around an octave or two above of Fs. This obviously depends on the specifics of the tweeter itself and the intended crossover slope as well; a shallower slope would need to be crossed higher than a steeper slope.
  36. thanks man yea i tried thier email but no response :[ yea i would buy from ssa if the price wasnt so high im buying a bunch and im a competitor so i have a ton of stuff i have all ready thrown money for on this hoping they can get back to me So you basically want to get them at a discount because otherwise they are out of your price range? Simple solution is to either 1) buy what you can afford instead, or 2) save up more money. SSA isn't expensive...they are selling them for the price they are supposed to be sold for.
  37. 10/10 for me as well SSA has amazing customer service and great products, love my 2 15" Icons, even on only 100 watts each they are nuts! Placed 3 different orders in last 2.5 months and i've been extremely happy with everything so far, and don't expect that to change. Thanks Mark and Aaron.
  38. Keep me posted on your newest project chuck. Swag
  39. So what do you need help with? Sales "at" ficaraudio.com is the best way to contact them. SSA sells AA woofers if you still need them.
  40. I updated the pic from a few pages back, but since you guys don't read backwards here is the tunnel polish Was stressing over the EGT gauge mount, but you'll see I got smart. Sled came with an extra set of hand protectors so I took the aluminum mount and grabbed a few things from the hardware store and now the EGT follows the bars when I raise and lower them. Nearly 4" of travel which is enough to adjust from sitting to standing. Requires a 1/2" wrench, but I'll keep one in my map bag on the tank.
  41. How exciting! Are we talking custom? I know you won't answer haha but I figured I'd try.
  42. Friday for meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
  43. In LCD I have been extremely happy with Sharp. Price/performance they do really well.
  44. Well, people have said things at shows as to why but i did not post it here because it's not proven. I sometimes do not want to know the reasoning even if it were true because then it would be forced upon everything one designs for and if the reason is actually lowering the score, it's caused by another random variable. Instead, i only use very basic principles on designing and everything else be optionally used but never forced regardless of outcome before testing. I could say, 6th order is always louder than ported enclosure.. So, without testing anything, i build a wall with a general ratio and assume that the score i'm getting is always better than ported.. No! Instead, i'd rather build a 6th order with the ability to adjust both ports and volumes independently to test for months to see what the meter is showing. How what effects what on the meter. The best thing i can say is this- There is and will always be unforseen variables in SPL whether it's environmental or user error but the point is this- No matter how much one knows on paper, it will never translate into the real world 100%. This is why many suggestions, rules of thumb, etc tend to be ignored for SPL only because of random outcomes. So, even by me saying less cone area is better for burps, i will elaborate and say that's a general rule of thumb for burping scenarios. It is not an end all solution to all competitors. These rules of thumb have been duplicated numerous times, but how they are duplicated should be past on with it. Example- the wall ratio i mentioned earlier. If it were true 100% of the time, then here is the problem- The suggestion has been taken for those who meter sealed on the dash. If I open a door, the conclusion may suffer and hurt the score bad. So, if a rule of thumb canis able to be duplicated, information about the environment it is duplicated in and how it's metered should be a part of that suggestion to give it just a little bit more acceptance as a possible norm for SPL.
  45. High end Rockford amps are great, their entry level stuff not as much. Boston Acoustics left the mobile market, that's why you can get those really good amps dirt cheap, I'd get one of those with the GCON.
  46. I think you should have took the time to do 45's on the port though. Or better yet! Do some kerfing!
  47. 1 point
Takes about 4 weeks. Be patient.
