  1. Mehh the hop is a place to spam, the way that I see it is if you don't like it ignore it. Plenty of other people come in here and complain, but ChILL does hold the record lol.
  2. I don't want any money. I will be glad to help you out, just need to give me a few days... Busy as hell... PM me dimensions...
  3. You need to understand what the gain setting on an amplifier does. It does one thing and one thing only, it sets the overall voltage gain of the amplifier. It doesn't set output power, it doesn't set maximum output, it doesn't limit anything and has nothing to do with clipping. When you set the voltage gain you are setting a ration (in db) between voltage input drive and voltage output. Current and power will vary with load impedance. So, what does this mean? That gain knob is arbritary, and usless in most cases. If it wasn't there (like most home amplifiers) the voltage gain of the amplifier would be whatever the overall design was intended to be. And that is how a car audio amp is designed to work before they stick the voltage gain adjustment pot on the amp. It really doesn't make any sense to have it anywhere other than full clockwise if you have a single amp and adjustable sub level from your HU. If you have multiple amps, it helps with matching, thats about it. So if you understand that it only sets the voltage gain and nothing else, you'll see why making a comparison about gain and HU level in comparison to overall output is pretty meaningless...
  4. I ordered two SSD10 woofers back before xmas. I have them installed in a vented enclosure, and have now had a chance to listen to them daily for a couple of months. I just have to say that I have never been happier with any drivers I have owned. I have yet to find any music that gives these Fi's any problems. They do everything I've ever asked. Rap, Rock, Electronic, Country, Bass CD's... Everything I've played through them sounds great. They are loud, play low, are tight yet still boom when needed. Never do they distort, pop, overheat, or anything like that. I've used everything under the sun over the last 17 years, and by far these are my favorite subs I've owned. I was a little leary ordering woofers over the internet, never even seeing any of their products in real life. I liked what I read, and the construction, but never had a chance to hold or listen to one. Just wanted to say that anyone who is looking for a woofer in the price range, you can't go wrong. They are actually a really good deal for the $194/ea that I paid. They are far better than any "brand name" driver you may see in the stores at similar prices. As soon as I open the box and picked this monster up, I knew it was a serious driver. Love em.. Think I am going to replace the Type R in my Eclipse come spring... The only real suggestion that I could make would be to update the information on the website. The pictures no longer represent the subwoofer. There are now spacers between the motor structure and basket for cooling, and it seems as if the motor/magnet structure has been changed a bit also. The woofers are a larger magnet diameter and depth than are posted on the specs sheet on the Fi website. Although it may not be a big deal, in some situations when mounting space is limited, it could cause unexpected problems for the customer.
  5. i really don't care dude. you say you have the "sexiest team SSA car" i call bullshit. i drive a Hummer with $10K+ in extras and an soon to have plenty on SSA products. BOW DOWN playa It's called personal opinion. To him His car is the sexiest in Team SSA. Him claiming that would be similar to me saying I am the 'best at laying the pipe on SSA'. Until we have a contest to find out and numerous women chime in on how they feel about the pipe laying, it is just an opinion. If he feels as though your posts are a waste, then let him state his opinion. Considering you have been called on bullshit, and numerous other things bro, simmer the fuck down. And if you want to get all 'bow down' on people because of your ride, you have even more growing up to do than I thought. I shall quit this comment here as I am kinda tired, and REALLY do not want to say something I may later regret typing. J
  6. ...we were just outside of Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs kicked in...
  7. Maybe we can get a "drunk" thread going haha. But that is half of the fun in the ihop.
  8. Lol you are crazy.
  9. this is our version of the thread.... only rules.. no racism or discrimination will be allowed of any kind... u aren't allowed to like ricers or be prepared to be made fun of... and anything else goes... so wh0re it up, cuz it's allowed!! welcome to the IHoP..the International House of Poo where everything is on the menu...u just can't have it... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. Planning to run this setup for nSPL Finals this weekend... needed to stay under 5000 watts on the nSPL clamp meters. On my meter it clamped exactly 4000 watts last night which should be 4700-5000 on their clamps. Tuning is in the high 30s and peaks at 47 Hz... tuned to 30 Hz and also peaking at 47 Hz it was about 1.8 dB quieter but still not bad at all, IMO. I plan to try cutting the ports down a bit more to see if I can get a tad more from it on the meter... may or may not get that done before the Finals event. Best score with just me in the Jeep was 153.8 and with Nick from Stereo Integrity in it as well we got 154.0 dB -- sealed on the dash. * One SAZ-4500D chilling out on my amp rack. Running at 0.25 ohms for burps -- re-wires to 1 ohm for daily. * 3x 6" Aero-Ports... box is a hair over 6 cubes with my shortened ports. Almost exactly 6 cubes with full length ports. Team Sundown Derrick build this box for me. * One NSB-G3100 in this corner. * Added an XS Power D3100 this morning... score did not increase but my voltage doesn't drop as bad on burps and I'll be able to play music longer of course! * Standard DEKA starting battery. * External voltage regulator. * Excessive Amperage 225-amp alternator. Have been running this for about 2 years now.
  11. Nice job on the wiring. It's not easy to make that many cables look clean. Do you have any suspension upgrades for the rear? That's a lot of weight in batteries for sure.
  12. I'm pretty sure Chill should become a country musician. His insistent whining about ex's and being drunk I'm sure he could have quite a few #1 hits. Now he just needs a trailer and he can go platinum. Also if you want to act all manly about buying a hummer why didn't you buy one of the h1's instead of your soccer mom version.
  13. I'm 5'8", skinny as shit with small hands and feet and have a 10" cock. Don't believe me, just ask your wife or check the knot on the back of her head.

That's the cost of being a good uncle As was said....stay away from Bose. You can get a full kit from PE, Madisound, Meniscus, etc that includes everything including the cabinets, some of them are even pre-cut for the drivers. It's really a matter of slapping everything together, and they would walk all over the Bose. If you can build your own enclosures then there are a lot more choices to choose from. Still need a budget
  15. Just a little build log of what I have done so far, with crappy cell phone pictures. The Truck Making holes to run the wire. Installed grommets for two runs of 1/0, one positive and one negative. Mocked up false floor. Wrapped up and wired up distro blocks. Wired up the stereo Wired up and mounted the amp. finished as it sits now. Still have some ideas to remount the amp/amps. When it gets warmer out Ill be laying down some fiberglass for kickpods and working on mounting tweeters somewhere.

Bose don't sound very good. All marketing hype... Most of thier towers use garbage 99 cent Chinese junk cone tweeters... I have re-coned 3 of thier flagship 901 sets over the years. Every set sounded like shit, even with the Bose EQ and everything set up right... I don't know how people can live with them honestly.... Look into a kit from Parts Express or Madisound. Check out Zaphaudio.com also. The full kits from the first two vendors are a piece of cake to build...
  17. Agreed, there is no denying that he made some good music though.
  18. You have been with her since you were 20? That's crazy.
  19. That's awesome man!
  20. ill be 30 in a a week and a half
  21. after 10yrs i stil thinnk my wfe is sexy. is there something wrong with me? i can make that bed rock
  22. take hold!!!i remeber saying something like.... i feel light headed...maybe you should drive....
  23. Another one of my favorites.
  24. Yeah every year goes by faster. Next year I'll be 25!!!
  25. i wish you would son!!!! ha ha.. money makes the world go round!!! get your own section... what would you name it?
  26. George Dickel is the "other" brand of Tennessee whiskey. Comes in 3 regular varieties and a limited run variety. They have proper names but I just call them Red, Black, and White label. Red is the low end, Black is the mid range, and White is the high end. Locally I can get Red label for 20 bucks a handle and it mixes great with everything.
  27. the stripper pole is a inch and a half i believe ? might have to double check on that its welded with a plate that is attached to the center of the box and the floor with bolts and pl also the top is welded to a plate then fiber glassed to the roof and the pole also yes i plan on metering as soon as fi gets done with the recones theres a show at the speed way "import face off" this Sunday coming up so we will see how it does and as for the port the comp one is going to be 37 daily 31
  28. Never heard of it.
  29. Old thread, but just wanted to say how much I love mine too. I have an older model 12" ssd with "BP" power, D1, in a 2.5 cube 35hz box. Im running 2ohm on a AQ2200D and love it. I get a lot of people on demos who love the capabilities of this price range setup. It is really impressive, and some people who do not know much about car audio are shocked when I pop open the trunk, and all they see is one 12"!
  30. Holy fuck! Gun shots, fire works, horns and people out running in the streets all around here.
  31. this guy is one smart dude, always look to him for technical info and advice...
  32. OK, you need to attribute the differences to the overall voltage gain of each amplifier, not power output. It is very misleading to other people who don't understand how this stuff works when you make erroneous comparisons like you did.
  33. I'm going to guess it was a 30th birthday cake.
  34. It gets too big when the power you have and your settings kill the woofer. You can view port velocity in WinISD. And by power I mean your amplifier. Input the signal you have into WinISD, it will compute excursion, port velocity etc... based on it. Don't forget the EQ tab either. It does a lot of stuff and you should look at it all before making a decision. You've just found why most people fail at modeling programs. They don't ask the questions or try like you are. Keep it up! Your doing better than 99.9% of car audio forum goers!
