  1. You are not likely going to see full power. Overhead is your friend. 2 subs rated at 750-1000w each seems to fit that amp well.
  2. the font looks wicked close to another comapy aswell. just a thought.
  3. Don't assume I chose the name as a play off of Mark and Arron. I highly doubt anyone will confuse DSS for SSA. Mobile Sound Solutions have been around a lot longer than SSA and no one I know confuses Mark and Arron for Brian Scmitt. And Direct Audio Solutions is a registered name in Louisiana. It was actually my first choice.
  4. Don't care about the feds. I'm talking about the forum you use to advertise. I wouldn't name my company sunup audio even if it explained what my company does. Anyway just a thought I had.
  5. The Feds didn't have a problem with it. And the name explains the company. I sell car audio solutions directly from the manufacturer to the consumer.
  6. You don't think the name is too close to another brand already on the market?
  7. Wow! That looks great!
  8. very nice glassing skills man
  9. I'll get you a job here. You can sit around with everyone else while I do all the work. I will hand you tools, and provide you a solid alibi in case someones knees happen to just fail randomly and develop rebar shaped bruises...randomly. These things happen.
  10. Good God man!! Can't wait to see the changes.
  11. I would go with the aq1200 because the bc2000d is on back order right now. But I just got my bc2000d to power a single 15 xcon and its a well built amp for the money!
  12. Looks really clean!
  13. I agree with that recommendation, for your application, your money is best spent on the crescendo 2k. If you want to compromise a bit on a lower budget, then look at the aq 1200.
  14. Good God man!! Can't wait to see the changes.

Their specs are so close you wouldn't notice a difference.
  16. What car do you have ? A sedan ? If the box is in the trunk facing forward, they won't see it. So, you don't need too make the box unique, just hide it with some black carpet !!! Paint will require more work : sanding, mastic (don't know the english word, maybe bondo ?), and more sanding,... Do it simple and efficient. Good luck and show us some pics when it's done. Those subs are wonderful ! You'll love them.
  17. I wouldn't try that unless you have another amp to replace this one.
  18. you know.... i just don't know if those shoes will hook up enough traction... extreme wide WTF
  19. blue is even better.
  20. for the Sony XS-GTR100L, 10" 4-ohm subwoofer polymer cone features dimpled, five-sided design rubber surround grille not included power range: 75-330 watts RMS (1200 watts peak power) frequency response: 35-1000 Hz sensitivity: 84.5 dB mounting depth: 5-7/8" sealed box volume: 0.62 cubic feet ported box volume: 0.84 cu. ft.

I would say Mahem's just because you already have the motors. Or you could be cool and sell them and switch.
  22. Planning to run this setup for nSPL Finals this weekend... needed to stay under 5000 watts on the nSPL clamp meters. On my meter it clamped exactly 4000 watts last night which should be 4700-5000 on their clamps. Tuning is in the high 30s and peaks at 47 Hz... tuned to 30 Hz and also peaking at 47 Hz it was about 1.8 dB quieter but still not bad at all, IMO. I plan to try cutting the ports down a bit more to see if I can get a tad more from it on the meter... may or may not get that done before the Finals event. Best score with just me in the Jeep was 153.8 and with Nick from Stereo Integrity in it as well we got 154.0 dB -- sealed on the dash. * One SAZ-4500D chilling out on my amp rack. Running at 0.25 ohms for burps -- re-wires to 1 ohm for daily. * 3x 6" Aero-Ports... box is a hair over 6 cubes with my shortened ports. Almost exactly 6 cubes with full length ports. Team Sundown Derrick build this box for me. * One NSB-G3100 in this corner. * Added an XS Power D3100 this morning... score did not increase but my voltage doesn't drop as bad on burps and I'll be able to play music longer of course! * Standard DEKA starting battery. * External voltage regulator. * Excessive Amperage 225-amp alternator. Have been running this for about 2 years now.
  23. I would kill myself. I had someone PM me wanting some help on designing an enclosure. Twenty PMs later he was good to go.... What did you charge him? Nada. Just helped him work with his max dimensions to net volume, adequate port area, port displacement that jazz. Basically all that was left for him to do was figure out the cutout dimensions. Luckily I did make a site for calculating all that so it took longer answering PMs than doing any math. I'm just too nice sometimes.
  24. Keeps getting nicer. Awesome paint job.
  25. Haha. Thanks buddy. Appreciate that.I'm shipping your duals out tomorrow. Do you have any 1/0 left to use? Text me your address again. I should know it by heart by now. At least I know how to get there. idk why but it literally made me LOL.."at least i know how to get there." I can find my way to the house pretty easy now.
  26. Haha, this has been my idea for a while. Shortbus FTW.
  27. If the efficiency is identical, and the output power is identical, then the current draw would likewise be identical. If one amp has a lower efficiency, then the amp with lower efficiency would draw more current. It really is that simple. Ohms law has nothing to do with this, and is one thing that gets people confused. The impedance of the load only matters in so far as how it affects the efficiency of the amplifier(s). The only thing that matters in this conversation is amplifier efficiency (along with power output and power supply voltage, but since those are assumed to be constant between the two amplifiers we can ignore them for the moment). As shiz said, generally speaking as impedance of the load decreases so does amplifier efficiency. But that doesn't mean that amp A wired to 1ohm will necessarily be less efficient than amp B wired to 4ohm. It completely depends on the respective designs of the amplifiers.
  28. Like i said, if same efficiency, then same current draw, same output. That's how it could be same efficiency. lets take 800w. 800w @1ohm = 28.3v 28.3a 800w @4ohm = 56.6v 14.15a Both at ~84% efficiency, then same current draw, same output, The End.
  29. well, when you say same efficiency, then it would draw the same, but you are wrong. Efficiency is NOT the same at 1ohm vs 4 ohm. Efficiency levels on Class D amps at 4ohms is around 86-88%. 1ohm, around 78-82%
  30. Alright lads. There will be updates/videos coming this week do not worry(: i just gotta get them put on the computer and uploaded. bare with me my internet is not the greatest so i apologize if it takes a few days for videos
  31. There ya go, ricks have you covered.
  32. It's something you subscribed too. Quit bitching and just unsubscribe. Is it really that big of a deal you need to start a thread and try to put them in blast?
  33. just keep in mind those guys need to make a dollar too !! or else they end up broke!!!!! like you
  34. No need to get upset, just delete it. SSA is like crack, you start to fiend it. Make you want to sell a t.v. or vcr for that bass.
  35. This setup does keep gaining with power... with the full length ports (which are 1.8 down at this power level) I have done a 154.7 before with this same setup running two 3500Ds @ 0.25 each. I plan to try more power after the show... and eventually to try four Z v.2 12s with single spiders. I tried some Nightshades a while back with 3 spiders and it was actually quieter than the SA-12s -- so I think this box needs a much softer compliance.
