Best 12in sub for 1.4cu sealed box in a trunk
I think both would be great. The Q you can get configured specifically for using in a sealed enclosure which may benefit you. But it would hurt resale value down the road and if you decided to go ported later it wouldn't be as well matched. Just something to think about.3 points

3 pointsi thought i killed the nightshade on the NS1 @.25 figured i cooked the glue on the coil.. but from what it looks like so far, the coils look good, so do the tensiels...seems that the bottom of the former is jacked up, IE jon bottomed them out one too many times.....ohhh yeah i rememeber on my streetbeat run : the fucking bad ass part is.. the one that cooked is the one i reconed in july, the other one is a year and a half old OEM from sundown... so this thing has stood the test of time! plans are to keep the NSV2s and rebuild them.. and if for some strange reason the Zcons dont tickle my fancy then ill sell them and throw my V2s back in,.... but i cant wait to see what the Zcons can do. i should be playing friday. saturday at latest3 points

2 pointsLooking forward to your results. You've come a long way since we first met. Impressive what hard work and determination gets you. Congrats.2 points- Zed Audio Leviathan III
1 pointFor sale is a Zed Leviathan III. Barely used, still has the plastic wrap on the Plexiglas cover. $600 shipped. From the Zed Audio website: Specifications Rated power is 190 watts x 6 into 4 ohm or 300w x 6 into 2 ohm. Bridged power is 380w x 3 into 8 ohm or 600w x 3 into 4 ohm. The 3 pairs of channels are independently bridgeable. Two, four or six input configuration. Channels 1+2 feature a 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High crossover. Channels 1+2 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass or Low Pass from channels 5+6. Channels 3+4 feature 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High and Low Pass crossovers. Channels 3+4 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass, Low Pass or Bandpass or Low Pass from channels 5+6. . Channels 5+6 feature feature 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High and Low Pass crossovers. Channels 5+6 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass, Low Pass or Bandpass. The High Pass crossover doubles as a subsonic filter as it is able to respond down to 10Hz. LEVIATHAN Is well suited to running a multitude of different systems from simple 4 satellite/sub woofer type to tri and quad amped systems. Level controls accommodate input levels up to 8.6v RMS. Pre-amplifiers utilize a fully isolated power supply for zero ground loops. Pre-amplifiers drive the main amplifiers in a fully balanced mode. Class D amplifiers utilize high-speed high current low gate charge MOSFETs. Fully regulated power supply delivers power independent of battery voltage. There are a total of seventeen regulated power supplies. The power supply utilizes twelve 110 amp MOSFETs in a source follower configuration for maximum bandwidth. Low ESR 105°C capacitors are used in the power supply. Very high efficiency owing to the smart power supply. Tiffany RCA's with Teflon inserts are used for ultimate quality and reliability. or they just don't want to talk about it yet.... But your probably right. I bet AA/Fi hates SSA.1 point- *Swift's Rebuild* 3 SP4 18's, 12k Walled F250
Well I only have one laying in the floor just to have sound until they are all mounted up but its getting 75rms. I can tell with both of them at that power I will need maybe four 8's to keep up with them. They scream and sound incredible. Really wish I had listened sooner. Not sure why more people dont run them. Well they are expensive as FK. haha1 point- sundown lincoln
1 pointI guess his box liked 12s better because he gained by switching to smaller cone area. It would be a sight to see if the zcons can't do what the nightshades did? I'm tuned in he gained going to 12s i belive because his enclosure was TINY! i think he would have gained going to Zcon 12's..... mine will be damn near a direct swap... only the nightshades were ran at .25 and these will be ran at .33 so a little less power. not a heck of a lot but...1 point- Team IAK helping Sponsor a Family for Christmas
Awesome, everyone who helped out should stand proud!1 point- Should I buy Discover G31 UPS Batteries??
The sears Platinum IS MUCH stronger.. It's the same battery as the Odyssey 2150 as comfirmed by EnerSys (who makes them for both).1 point- sundown lincoln
1 pointoh and no they are not steves old subs, we worked a deal on them but chop wanted all 4 so it seemed right to keep them togather, i bought mine from multi bass boxing champion nic watts1 point- *Swift's Rebuild* 3 SP4 18's, 12k Walled F250
Could get front speakers to play, thought it was the new rca's or headunit. Threw the trusty Alpine PDX in and I'm back in business. I will send the Crescendo back and hopefully get that squared away soon. That will give me time to install the 8's and horns. The Rockford 6.5's and one horn hooked up it still loud as hell and I am now sold on hlcd's. Mofo is loud and clear. So after playing the radio for one hour straight with the truck off on battery only I decided to go have a listen once it was in. Took the meter to get a baseline. It will be louder with a fresh charge. Same meter placement, same song as my 156..7 run on this song. Im very happy considering this is a low tuned daily work truck, Its loud as piss.1 point- Team IAK helping Sponsor a Family for Christmas
Thanks to the couple people that donated! The family was in complete, but happy shock when we showed up with 7 bags full of wrapped gifts for the kids. This is something I do every year so I hope that we can continue the tradition next year Thanks Again! -Mike1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointKeep that shit. We got 3" and the idiots on the road are driving me nuts. No, send it to me. I've got another good hour worth of work to do on the sled, but that can be done by 8am if needed. Two little stupid problems. Smashed o-ring in the carb to seal up the float needle which caused the flooding add no fuel shutoff and you are wet. TPS sensor plug installed backwards. Fucking drain means pulling the engine. Pulled carb, reeds, plugs, and exhaust and tipped on her side in every which way and pulled recoil until she stopped spitting. Letting her air out overnight. *wondering if I should squirt some oil anywhere before starting her up. Oil was premixed at about 100:1 for insurance purposes since I had pulled the oil lines and didn't trust my arbtrary oil pump calibration. Figured a shot down the plugs and through the reeds and a few pulls before turning on the ignition may be a good idea if the gas washed everything down. Even though my guess is that 100:1 is way more than needed to keep everything okay as long as I let it idle and get happy. I would put some oil in the cylinder and crank it for a bit with the fuel off and plus out. If the walls are wasked the rings will never seal and you will have no compression. Just a tablespoon of oil will add a quick seal to the rings and cranking it with the plug out will allow it to toss the excess and disperse the oil throughout the cylinder. Sure. I view scan data. Most manufacturers use an input of 5 volts reference, and we see what is typically a logarithmic voltage at the ECM. Some use dual stage sensors which can be tricky. Fortunately for you, you know someone with a ton of info available to them . Here is the resistance chart for you.1 point- IAK needs an "IHOP"
1 pointIndy blizzard of 2012 was kind of a let down. Happy everyone is ok but wasn't what the news media hyped up. Should be ordering at least the amp & batts next Friday when I get paid. Not 100% on what else will be ordered but it's should be the bulk of the rest.1 point- sundown lincoln

ah come on, we already have 5kw subs on the market.. let's move to 7.5kw daily, lol1 point- * Trevor's 2010 Audi A4 Trunk Build. Sundown. Fi. *
Hey guys first off sorry about the MIA but back now and the build is complete! (for now).. Picked up the box today and just screwed the sub in with T nuts wired it in and was ready to go. Unfortunately I rushed and pierced the surround when screwing in the last screw but it is a small whole and I have not noticed any defects or air passing. Should I seal it with something, get it fixed, or is it something to not worry at all about? I will upload a bunch more pics and a video tomorrow but for now I will just show you guys 2 spoiler pics. Sounds absolutly great right now and really balanced. Going to be downloading music all night ofcourse1 point- JL Audio Stealthbox for F350???
1 pointI have an F350 that has captains chairs with center consoles front and rear. The stock head unit is quit acceptable feature wise, and even the door speakers are not awful, the lower frequencies are quite lacking however. I thought a nice clean way to solve the lack of bass might be to put a JL Audio Stealthbox in the center console (preferably the rear one) I don't even know where I can get one (I'm in Kamloops BC Canada). Another option is a "custom made" box with another sub in the center console, or a "truck box" behind the seats ( ick :-/ ). Any opinions? Know how I can get the Stealthbox at a reasonably price? I do have a 10" Cadence Beast subwoofer here not in use. Another problem I think is the stock deck "adjusts" (lowers) the voltage output to the sub as the volume increases. Anymore issues? FYI, I have access to: - Alpine PDX-M12 amp with bass knob - Audio Control Epicenter (1st generation) - Carver KLW Audio Phantom (bass enhancer) - Audio Control EQX - Audio Control MVC Thanks, The Hammer1 point - sundown lincoln
