  1. If you have access to some average power tools you should be able to build it yourself. The only difficulty is with angles without access to a table saw they can often prove challenging to get cut exactly right on the width of the board with the angle on it. I've found it's easy enough to cheat that by making that dimension about an inch wider than required then just trim it down on the 90 degree side flush with the enclosure. Unfortunately now for the bad news. The dimensions you provided only give a GROSS internal volume of 1.91cuft. When you subtract from that the .14cuft that the sub will displace itself that only leaves 1.77cuft to work with and even if you were to settle with the minimum 1.25cuft that Quentin said is possible you still can't get a usable amount of port area to fit in that small of a space and the port length is just too long to easily manage in the enclosure properly. You're going to have to rethink your strategy with your sub and it's enclosure if you want it to perform at anywhere near it's optimum potential. Even going down to a respectable 10" size sub would present a challenge fitting in the available space, it's still going to need to be larger than that to get a usable port size. Hate to give you the bad news, but there's just not enough room in those dimensions to do it right.
  2. This is per your max deminsions and is a very tight fit but I doubt you would hear any audible difference. I assumed this is a single cab truck. Sub behind driver seat with port firing toward driver side (this is best for loading)
  3. Indeed. You need to either massage your constraints or sell your 12 and buy a 10.
  4. Seems like a rediculous amount of box for two 8's . Be careful with too much power in that huge box..
  5. I had a problem blowing subs too, and I shouldn't have because I matched them to the rms output of my amp...then I see people who know their shit running subs off of amps rated twice the rms power of their subs for years without incident! Sigh, that is when I knew it must be me and not my equipment, a tough pill to swallow. I had two main problems: 1) I was expecting way too much from my setup. Meaning I had a 10" sub in a prefab box to save trunk space and I thought it should shake my rear view mirror off of my windshield...now I am not saying you are as ignorant as me, I only bring my problem up because it led to the real reason my shit kept failing... 2) I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO SET THINGS UP PROPERLY! My goals were also not clearly defined, I had no idea what I wanted. I thought bass was bass, you hook it up, it shakes your brain. So when I wasn't getting what I wanted I boosted the gains, then turned down the gains and turned up the bass boost, then turned up the gains again, then messed with the eq, and like magic I had the sound I was looking for followed shortly after by the smell of a burnt sub coming from my trunk. Then back to square one. I still have no idea what I am doing and not quite getting the output from my xcon I would like but I know it's me not the equipment. So I error on the side of caution with my settings until I get things figured out and I suggest you do the same with your xcon, it is a phenomenal driver. Or do whatever the fuck you want just post pics of the install
  6. Just a couple pics from the show today, will get more tomorrow

  15. Got a little meter time today at our local shop Competion Audio and the results are as follows: 30hz 143.20 33hz 144.59 34hz 144.81 36hz 144.59 All sealed on the dash with a Term lab. Not sure how important the numbers are, but when we were testing the Evil sounded so awesome! The guys at the shop were really suprised at how hard it could hit and then drop low and be down right brutal playing music. My highest score was playing music 145.6 little bass race style. Some videos will follow once I upload them.
  16. go for the death row 12, gives you a little more room then the Fi x 12. Also depending on the roll off on the 30hz crossover when close to 30hz above and below its going to lessen those frequencies also.
  17. 1 point
I missed this, thank you! Just to update the second XCON arrived earlier today. Posting a buyer feedback now....
