I would highly suggest looking elsewhere before considering SKAR. As for the DCON, you're going to be hard pressed to find another sub that performs as well for the money. While it's okay to run a little extra power in most cases I don't think double the RMS is recommendable. The amp is rated at 400wrms @ 4 ohms. Why not order a 4 ohm SVC DCON and then in the future if you decide to go with two you'll still have that capability. You don't need to throw full RMS or more at one in order to get everything it can offer and that goes for any sub. The most important thing to consider and spend your time, effort and money on is making certain the enclosure is as close to perfect as possible.
  2. Figured I would get some pictures up of the stereo build up for my mustang. Nothing really over the top or crazy. Just wanting to improve on sound since its my DD. Worked well, but wanted more. Didn't initally want to go sealed, but the ported enclosure for the ICON was going to take too much space to work properly. The "skirt" underneath the box shows where the old ported enclosure came out. Wanted to use it over for this box since they were about the same size. 6. No they are not neccissary. But it depends on who you talk to. Rear fill's purpose is to reproduce reflections found naturally in live events. When at a live performance there will be sound bouncing from structures/objects around and back forward. Preferably there should be no reflections in the venue but sometimes it's not possible. Olde school Sq guys used rear fill. But did they sound as good or better than today's set ups?
  7. The numbers on your display are mainingless, uncalibrated and have no correlation to the output voltage of your headunit. Any time you change source material, mode, EQ or anything else, the output voltage will change even with the same displayed output level. To put things into perspective, those units of measure have the same amount of meaning as a speedometer that is labeled with pictures of fruit and animals instead of MPH...

Why did you make another thread only 7 hours after your first? Just wait for someone to see it. Don't make multiple threads of the same thing.
  9. that is very honest of them to say.... other companies should be so humble and admit things, but.. the proof will be in the pudding, from the track record when i was looking for a big buck alt, they were not even an option... simply because of how they handle stuff...
  10. Maybe I'll take over the farm once I become my millionaire. . I'm sure I'll have to fight my dad for it, though. I know he's looking forward to the planting twice a year, harvest twice a year, and 8 months of down time between it all
  11. thats why i never mess with used stuff. never know what the knuckle head before you did with the amp. try to get it swapped/replaced/your money back!!
