PSI Subs
2 pointsWe've had 3 psi recones go mysteriously soft to the point where you could bottom them out with your hand. One coil go mysteriously bad. So I tend to say no to psi.2 points

PSI Subs
2 pointsI have spoke with him over the phone several times when I was looking for a competent supplier between my dealings with Wiggens and being pushed towards Pat Turnmire by Uta Klippel. Three parts suppliers that I deal with recommended his advise and services, so I wouldn't say he doesn't have a clue what he is doing. As far as his spiders there are only a few suppliers and I'm sure he uses the same stuff as most others use. Maybe there was a bad batch of resien on an order or something but it's HIGHLY unlikely The majority of his product has this issue or he wouldn't be in business as long as he has.2 points

PSI Subs
2 pointsAt least Fi and DC have specific upgrades. Not sure what "high performance" means. Right from their site: "High Performance" option. Here’s what all upgrades you’ll get for the Platform 2 Series 15": Extended length aluminum flatwound voice coil Dual stiff spider suspension Dual stitched heavy gauge leadwires I honestly don't understand all the hate PSI gets around here, especially from people who have not used the product. I don't have a ton experience with PSI but from what I have used, they are comparable to many of the other brands that receive blind praise. Thanks for the info. It's not just on this site that ive seen PSI bashing, lots of different places ive looked have said bad shit about them. I partially agree with you on the blind praise that the other brands get. If I look on SMD for info about subs DC almost always wins. But ive heard DC Fi Aq ect but not PSI. DC? I got you bro!2 points

2 pointsI HIGHLY suggest sticking with the coil/spiders/cone/surround that was designed for the Zcon. I promise, getting "custom" bits from someone throwing parts that fit, with zero testing and no specs, is not an upgrade.2 points- 2007 Durango Limited Evil 18 Build

Thanks guys. Yeah, he has gotten very big. Sureal. Anyways, going to carpet the box gray to match the interior, I have had this playing a few days, Mechman is building me an alternator for this car, got the battery installed yesterday, going to have to wait till next week to see what it can do with that new alternator. So far, with stock 118amp alternator and the one battery, this thing is nuts. Peaks at 38hz sealed up. Does a 146.6db. Plays nice and low, and make my back itch lol.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 pointI personally love my psi subs. They are extremely musical and sound soo good. They are taking everybody of 4500rms a piece for3-5 songs with soft clipping. Never had a problem. If you don't have personal experience with the product, don't say a word about how they perform.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 pointMeh. I do understand the burnt ties though. I was screwed over pretty bad in 2007 with an Adire Audio deal that went south due to Dan Wiggins not being straight forward with me. It took me a few years not to be pissed off whenever I thought about it. It was simply caused by poor business practice. I won't defend any wrong doing, but as far as current product, I don't see the problem with PSI.1 point- single cab blow through

1 pointLOL, I had bought a pair of those in the early 90s... Were those the Isobaric or Trisobaric ones? They went into the rear deck of Camaro Berlinetta, lol...1 point- PSI Subs
1 pointI also don't understand all the PSI bashing. Especially since it is from people who have never actually used the equipment. If you bought one of the drivers during RE's glory days, it was likely you have a driver made by David Moore. I think he knows what he is doing.1 point- PSI Subs
1 pointLOL ... Man I don't know much about them actually. I just go by what most SPL folks tell me at events. From what I saw, Those "on demand" built drivers held up really good just for being built the night before ... but for stability and musical performance ... Sorry guys, I haven't been around them enough to know ... It seems like what most people read /post on forums and what people actually say /do at events is two totally different things ...1 point- PSI Subs
1 pointso what are you looking for in an upgrade. describe what is was and how it performed and someone could help you out.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
1 pointNo preservatives, no water. 100% Kosher materials including: Propylene Glycol USP Food Grade 44%, Vegetable Glycerin Food Grade 44%, roughly 3-4% USDA verified food flavorings, sweeteners. Each of the PG/VG totals will be reduced by .24, .18, .12, .06% pure nicotine. Propylene glycol is not the same ingredient in anti-freeze, that is ethylene glycol. PG is used in hospital air purifiers. I am sure that is the first ingredient you are referring to. However, I suggest buying juices from US sources. All the negative shit you here about e-juice is based on foreign juices. Again, what you are interested in will help. I may use you as a guinea pig for flavors that may be outside my palate. I might try different flavor enhancers (all safe, such as Ethyl Maltol, Tart and sour, and simple things like lemon juice) to modify flavors. I am not interested in the same shit you can buy over the counter. My goal is to be unique, with regards to flavor profile, but keep the base fairly common, so you can say "hey, I like cotton candy" not "hey I like ethyl maltose, sucrose, and other odd flavorings". But I want someone to pick up my cotton candy and say "holy shit, that is an amazing flavor", rather than "dude, that tastes just like crossroads vapor's cotton candy". if you are looking for a 'new to vaping' guy I would volunteer my palate. I figure Jared is being nice enough to hook me up and get me started, I would be more than happy to check out new juices as well. J You're on the list, brother.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 pointConsidering it is a one lane road (or sure as hell felt like it at the time) I certainly had the pucker effect going on. I will say this tho, you may drive like a mad man, but you know what you are doing. The trip wass certainly woth it once I saw the view. Have my fingerprints finally came off the door? J1 point- How to hit 150+db with 1 Fi BL12?
I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, But While I'm making my strolls around major events ... I have noticed vehicles running higher frequencies are going more and more to smaller enclosures with bigger ports ... Heck, some of them are using nothing but large scale PVC pipe and positioning the enclosures in the vehicles that best performs with vehicle resonance ... and just about every one I see is knocking on 160's door ... especiallly in the CRXs ... Please understand that I'm primarily a Sound Quality guy with ALOT of friends and competitors in the SPL realm ... So this is primarily just an observation ...1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 point- How to hit 150+db with 1 Fi BL12?
If you gonna say DD-Z, i'll say Shocker Apocalipse. The only current contender to the DD-Z successfully.1 point- Recone for a Zcon
1 pointI would highly suggest not to do so. I guess you "could" send you zcon to PSI, then order zv4 softparts, and send that to them as well. But, even still, the measurements might not line up, and could sound like poop. Well my voice coil is all messed up right now on the Zcon,so I'm thinking about an upgrade. I have it running on a 3500 no clipping and not ran below 12 volts I don't know why the coils are going out. One of the coils are reading 20.8 and changing constantly but the other coil is 2.4 a sign that it is also going out I just want something that can handle the power Lol. Installation issue man, not sub. I played my zcon full tilt on my bc5500 for 8 months. I have had this sub in my car for 1 year 2 months defiantly not a installation issue. If you have a blown coil, that is absolutely user error. Figure out what you did wrong or it doesn't matter what you put in next, the result will be the same. And don't recone it with anything but an OEM recone kit from SSA. Using anything else will result in a cobbled together POS sub with zero engineering behind the design. That's not an upgrade no matter what soft parts you drop in it. If you didn't want to wait for a recone, you shouldn't have blown the coil.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
1 pointSorry to do this to you, but I am not a fan of Mazda. The Genesis is really solid. I just did some work on one , normal 60K stuff. Hyundai has come a long way, while most manufacturers seem to be going backwards. Don't say sorry. May I ask why? Both of mine have been great to me and I have one from each end of the spectrum of their offerings. No complaints here outside of sheer horsepower. Just from a mechanic's perspective. Ford ideology abounds, reliability is weak at best. They have gotten worse over the years, by huge strides. I had no huge issues with 90s Mazdas, although I would not personally own one, but their recent stuff borders on Mitsubishi junk. Rotarys run strong, but again reliability is an issue. They are leaky pigs, and diagnostics is odd, as the design really creates odd looking pids/scan tool info. I so badly want to argue this, but I can not argue your experiences.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 pointThe I-70 corridor between Gwood and Denver is one of the funnest drive's in the country. Several canyon's, not a single straight stretch the whole 200 miles. 6% and 7% grade's with non stop corners. I have done 150+ mph going down the passes before when I was shagging Audi's. Ask Jordan, riding with me is not for the faint of heart. He was ready to get out and walk after I drove him up a jeep trail in the Honda with a 1000+ foot drop off on one side.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 pointYou need to whip that woman. First a knife set and now electric. "Dying" to hear the reasons. She's never lived with gas and has been scared to think its unsafe and could blow up the house.Isn't your water heater and furnace gas??Yep! Other good thing is when the power goes out, you can still cook and run your furnace of a small generator. Few years ago we lost power for 6 days and had gas water/heat, had all the hot water we wanted as always, and had the generator hot wired to the blower fan so when when the generator was on the furnace was running.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
1 pointI dare you All the kool guys are doing it. I did them for completely different reasons than the SPL kid's. On the other hand I finally got time to get the kid's head wrapped around octaves, slope orders, and phase. Would of helped had he played an instrument. lol1 point- sp4 dust cap warm
1 pointMissed you're hunting for an alternator. Look up Singer alternators, Mike is good people.1 point- PSI Subs
0 pointsjust went to psi's website. oh god they have options you can add to their woofers. one was called "high performance option" for $25. I'm staying very fucking far away0 points- PSI Subs
0 pointsIIRC they have a reputation of slapping together woofers with random and often inferior parts. I'd stick to companies that actually know a thing or two about speaker design or employ individuals who do.0 pointsAccount
