  1. 15" DCON in 4 cuft. tuned to 35hz with 82in of port. These subs are crazy efficient and sound extremely smooth on so many different genres of music. People seem to get carried away and think they need the highest power rating sub available to get loud and sound good. These people have never demo'd a DCON as it would change their minds real quick. I am stoked I gave this sub a try. I have been very impressed with the performance AND output. Thanks SSA for an above average sub in this class!!
  2. Like i said thats what i would do !!!for fun i havent been to that website for the specs I dont give bad advice so take it how you want it.. I am intitled to my opinion last time i checked! That is bad advice. You haven't done your home work.Omg! Lol i said thats what i would do..not for him to do it.. You kind of implied that is what I should do. You asked for the specs on my areas to work with, car, etc etc then mentioned that I should L port it @ 4cft @ 35hz. Being totally off-spec or not, it was way off from what I was asking of the forum, which was info on how to go about a smaller and better enclosure for the Ethos since the current one isn't ideal for it.
  3. Looks nice from here. Thanks Aaron.... SOUNDS great over here! Looks nice from here. Nice work man.... looks great!
  4. going for spl..yea maybe 3.5 that is just me though..Uh no, I'd stick with the manufacturers recommendation. A box that large tuned that high WILL sound horrible.
  5. I'll bet it's the center one isn't it. Nope, not likely your imagination. As I had mentioned when designing the enclosure for you it's possible for the sub(s) closest to the port opening to move a little funny, even unload when the other subs don't. It's not something that can be modeled either, at least not at our level with easily to attain/afford software. There might be some FEA or other high end software that could but I'm not even certain of that. That's why that loading wall/brace was in there, to try to prevent that from happening. Apparently it's either not large enough or isn't in the right spot, damnit.
  6. That is terrible advice. Dss recommends 1.5 ft3 tuned to 32hz with 40in2 of port. You would get terrible performs out of the ethos 12" in that large of an enclosure. Chances are you would also damage it. The reason I love SSA is because of the solid accurate advise so please stop given such bad advice.
  7. My first attempt at building an enclosure (with help from a friend). 4 cubes tuned to 32 Hz.
  8. No plans of reconing it. I already like the sub as it is and I prefer a smaller box, thus the reason for this thread. I think I can actually achieve more hatch space with the two variations I mentioned above along with better sound since my box was clearly wrong. I do appreciate the offer to help though!
  9. Ethos like small boxes. I know this!
  10. Small box means less output, usually, don't you think ? Try it sealed, it will be cheaper first. If you don't like it, then you'll try something else.
  11. I got a demo of this sub and box combo and was surprised with the sound this dcon made. Great bang for the buck.
  12. Awesome! I love the DCON!! Here's my Sister's 1st Generation 12" DCON in her 2002 Durango. Here also, is the pair of 10" 2nd Generation DCON's I just picked up for my wife's 2010 Traverse build. And for giggles, the 1st Generation 15" DCON I picked up used as well to have more DCON goodness but ended up selling to a local guy who never got me a pic of his install. Hope that helps the campaign Aaron!!
  13. My opinion..I would do away with the tube port. And L port that dude at 4 ft3@ 35hz..Like I said this is my opinion

  15. going for spl..yea maybe 3.5 that is just me though..Uh no, I'd stick with the manufacturers recommendation. A box that large tuned that high WILL sound horrible.Like i stated thats just me..Could it not handle it?What does it matter if it could handle it if it will sound horrible? These subs were already desinged for smaller enclosures to begin with. It matters..
