  1. Just beware, wherever else you are reading has some very confused members posting. The parameters you thought were positive aren't. Personally after seeing the business approach of Quentin and his reactions I'll never recommend a DSS sub to anyone. Turned into a Ben Milne the instant he had product to sell. There is no place for that on the internet or in life IMO. The SP4 & SSA stuff are built right, warranted right and supported right. I can't with confidence say that about the rest of your list. And while that may not be a concern in performance it says a lot about the owners and if you are going to give some of your hard earned money to someone I'd hope they are at least stand up people.
  2. OK so here is the hopefully last thread on my truck. I am buying a prefab box. I know no one recommends a pre fab box but there is only one way to fit it under the rear seat in my 2014 F 150 super cab. Unless I decide to take more floor space for more air space its kind of a set design. Id rather not eat more floor space because the back does get used a little bit. Anyways http://www.soundoffaudio.com/2009-2014-ford-f-150-extended-cab/ http://www.supercrewsound.com/09F150ECUTSdual.html Are the two I am looking at. No matter what air space is .80 cube before sub. I was wondering if for the space, I could get a little better smaller subwoofers. Instead of getting low end larger subs that dont take as much if I went with smaller 8" subs. Though they cost more, there are much better quality subs that would work for me. Example I was planning on RE REX 10s, then I decided REX 12s but looking at it vs say a Sundown SA 8, the SA 8 is a much nicer sub that takes more power and will move more air (although have less cone area). I guess all I am asking is if I should get as big as sub as I can fit/afford/use for enclosure or if I should get the highest quality sub I can even if it means going smaller? Would anyone care to comment on size vs quality? I am not sure how to approach a box this small and this little volume? Last truck I had I took half the back seat and had an SA 15 in it in an extended cab pick up and it was awesome. Not looking for the same out put this time though. Just low end that sounds good.
  3. How many ssa subs get bad ratings. I think they have one of the best line of subs made in America from all American parts. Just my personal opinion. Every brand has bad ratings, SSA is not exempt. Does it mean they put out bad quality, no. Just that people will find anything to complain or bitch about. Ive seen a few people bad mouth SSA even a member on this forum some years back, but it is far and few between. I am sure even if SSA did happen to put out a bad product.."which I do not believe would happen"...I am sure Aaron would make up for it a 100%....
  4. I would say their prices may be a bit higher due to the number of employee's they have on their payroll..If they are not making a bigger profit margin then their payroll deductions how could they have stayed a float for 40+ years... Great company though and sometimes the customer support is worth the few extra bucks

  10. My old build log was deleted when DSS lost their section. So I have to start from scratch. Here is the update for my truck for the 2015 season. This build will be complete by October 2015 and will consist of the following hardware. 6 Team SSA 15" subwoofers 3 Taramps HD30kSPL amplifiers 3 JuiceBox LiFePo4 80ah batteries and 1 20ah. Single Reflex Bandpass Enclosure 10 cuft sealed, 35 cuft ported, 900cuin port area The end goal is to do a 165 any where. My last build loudest score was 162.3 outlaw with 6 15" DSS Ethos and 3 Taramps HD8000 This is still my only vehicle that I own.
