  1. Evil 6.5 with 6x9 pvc adapters'.
  2. This is an interesting year. Moved into a new house in Jan. Lived in our old house 13 years. Company paid for me to travel to Alabama for a week earlier this month to train another office on our system. First time I've flown in literally 10 years. Had never been to 'Bama before eother, so that was interesting. My office finished in the top 10% for performance in the state, so I won an all expenses paid vacation for myself and my wife to San Diego in April. Never been to the west coast before but always wanted to go. Will be the 2nd time I've flown in 2 months, after not flying for 10 years. Sending my daughter to college in August. She will be living on campus. Will be very different without her here. We're pretty close. Just a lot of weird stuff happening this year that I have either never done, or haven't done in a very long time. And we are only 2 months into the year.

With out a dedicated (all things considered) center channel setup, you're gonna have a VERY hard time to stage and image driver and passenger. Ask me how I know. Might want to listen to Sean on this one brother.
  4. Lil more progress. Its a multi phase enclosure design. This is 1 of many

In other words you compromised the driver settings so that the passengers were equally compromised. That isn't fixed for either person then...
  6. I always thought you were a Chevy guy. Nice truck. ....no longer the cable guy??
  7. Look for anomalies. Drop outs aren't as disconcerting as peaks, but all can be dealt with via processing of necessary.

I've had a short cab / short box S-10 back in my mini lowrider truck phase. It had a 350 with a 700r4 trans. Wasn't worried about audio in that one though. Guess what we were doing every Friday night with that one ?? LOL

You are the one not understanding. Time alignment effects staging dramatically. Even a VERY small change of inches can make a large difference. You should actually use your ears and listen to things before just throwing up on the forums. It would really help your posts make more sense. And yes I've driven S-10's, installed stereo's in S-10's and also understand the Physics of Acoustics.
  10. F'n beast right there bro! Time for the real fun to start now!

Delayed. ROFL. You CAN'T adjust it out. Defies Physics. No way to make things aligned for both. Ok, perhaps there is a way in a mythical world where you can have each and every driver EXACTLY the same distance from the driver and passenger. Now if you tell me you were running an ambiophonic array then my statement would be different, but you said active 2 way...

I think I'm gonna just order my subs or sub now, and while I'm waiting for it to be built save a little more money and just get the ampere 3800, or 5k and a high output alt from gp audio, as they are the only place that list one for the 2012 Cruze turbo. 2 12" inch evils on a ampere 5k sounds like a good idea. I plugged the numbers on 12volt's box calculator, and I have just over 5 cubic foot net, after port and .18 displacement, so they should fit, may be a tad small but I can always invert them I guess. Ok thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. And if Aaron reads this, I will place my order in a day or two when I have a free moment. #CruzeEvil

SoundQubed 7k is on sale now as well, if you're looking for inexpensive power. Maybe wire to 2 or 4 ohm depending on coil configuration. As for strapping, I had never done it until a couple of months ago, and the only hassle I had was the extra power/ground and fuseage. Simpler than gain matching two amps, at least. Other than that, +1 to what Julian said.

Personally I would prefer one amp over two, strapping amps in my experience has always been a bit of a hassle. The Ampere 3500 would be an excellent match for an Evil, I can personally guarantee you that the Evil can take MUCH more than rated as long as you're smart ;). As long as your electrical is solid there will be no issues there!
  15. D2's...wire them to series with a "jumper" at the sub to bring each pair of coils up to 4 ohm & then series wire the pair of subs, this will bring you to a final 2 ohm load and save you some feet of wire. Also if one coil fails it will break the circuit and save the other sub from possible overpowering.
  16. While on lunch: SSA STORE - Order #18706!
  17. Another shot of the gauges:
  18. Didn't realize how heavy the subs were until I had to lift them up to put them in the box!!

If Aaron is naughty, can we send him to Arizona for a few days of time out? Have you tried convincing Scott Owens to switch to ICONs? When will the next line come out (tomorrow!)? Has the internetz made you rich yet? Any plans to expand the forums you work on?

I have not tried them. I really try to avoid fast food all together. Tom is a very very bad influence on me Yup, Hybrid time & loving the gas milage! 1.) Well it got to the point in my audio career that I was burnt out with the business. Finished college and decided to move on to something else. At that time, I really didn't want the site to go down hill, so I asked Aaron to take over. Best idea I ever had for the site IMO. He's done a great job in my absense. He brought on the manufacturer section, cleaned things up etc...great addition to the admin "staff". Basically the original idea of doing a forum was to get some traffic and eventually put up a store. Aaron has done an excellent job at building this forum to what it is today. I never expected it to become such a great community, and i'm very greatfull for his help. Ok i'll step off my soap box now, lol 2.)Flame room? Remember? THat was my idea! lol wanted to offer something that other forum's didn't. I got so sick of people flamming ever post, I thought it would be a good idea to keep all the flamming in just one section, so the rest of the board had peace and quite. 3.)how long did it take aaron to talk me into the icon? Well he had me at hello on that one. I thought up the name ICON one day at a poker game. I kept racking my brain for a name that had multiple meanings and wasn't taken. Then I had to sell the idea to Aaron. I don't think he liked it at first, but i'm pretty sure it's grown on him since 4.)in the early days, you were like goob in that you were rarely here. now, you're here all the time. what's different (other then the business)??? Well in the early days you couldn't rip my away from my computer. When I first started a forum, I was watching ever post, every forum, just waiting for someone to reply! lol Then like I said in the first question, I got kind of burnt out with the installation businesss/competing etc...so I just let Aaron take over and see what he could do with it. And wah-lah, we now have become one of the best functional/content based web communities on the net! With Aaron's audio/technical background and my webbackground, we've been able to keep a handle on what is now, SSA. I met him on www.caraudioresources.com along time ago. I let him take over the forum and the site about 4yrs before I ever met him in person. I finally met Aaron in person before we got incorporated as a business. And the rest is history so far..
