That is something I wouldn't worry about. GM's specifications on magno shocks and their control are more stringent and modeled than the other manufacturers. The DCT I am more concerned with, but they watched BMW's learning curve and are not putting any new wicked tech into the car outside of it. I am HUGELY against first year anything. I really, really subscribe to that theory, but I ordered one.
My guess is that year 2, they can still sell 40k of them at an extra $20k. Used prices will hold like new for 3 years trying to sort out the market and then everyone will forget any first year woes which GM will take care of as this is the vette. I could be overly optimistic, but this is their car. It can't get soured on. If the corvette is a flop it would be akin to a Mercedes with an autopilot that had a crash rate of 70%. Just can't happen.
I am sure there will be first year fun, but it is fundamentally a super car for $60k. I almost bought a Gallardo for $70k just a few years back. That would have been a much bigger hole in the pocket book even without a ton of depreciation since then. The GM parts bin makes shit cheap.
That being said, if I don't fit a nasty-Stang will appear here. I need a car again....BAD!
