Where to get mdf for cheap??
If you want cheap you have the wrong hobby. Get the MDF where its closest to where you live, and quit tripping over dollars to pick up a dime.

XS Power Batteries for my application
Do these or don't these have a metal/steel case? Nathan tells me I'm wrong for saying they have a protective metal case, Denim says (and everywhere you read) the "s" series steel case????? I thought the "s" stood for "starting" battery? I am calling mechman and nathan tommarow anyways with other questions about BOTH batterys I got, but thought others might want to know on here? I definetly like just talking to people on the phone when I'm giving them a bunch of MY money.

J-Roadtatts Honda Accord Build
I finally got time to notch and box the big humps on the sides of the trunk floor. Its a fight to get every inch. I really want the box to be 5cf net and still be able to get the spare out. So far its looking like I will have 13 inches behind the box and barely enough room to get the spare out. Once I cut the bottom piece of the box I will know for sure. The left side was about twice as much metal to remove. I welded plate over the holes and sealed what ever I didn't weld with silicone. I was scared to weld any more on the front of the left side as the gas fill is an inch away.(don't even get me stated on welding safety) Remember I am making two shapes of boxes hooked together to get the 5cf net/6.3cf gross and forward facing, sealed from the trunk with expanding foam. Anyway heres a pic of a little progress.

I think its preference more than anything. I am using the titebond ll because its sooo cold out I think it will be easier to work with. Otherwise I would of used subfloor glue. you could silicone the inside when done just to be safe just let the silocone dry so you don't have any fumes left. Me I am going to fiberglass the inside So I will not be using silicone.

J-Roadtatts Honda Accord Build
Its been a busy week, plus don't even get me started about the snow. I finally spent the last of my paypal money from all the stuff I sold to pay for this project. I spent the last 250 bucks on 20sq ft more dampener and four sheets of Luxury Liner Pro + can o' glue!!! WoW this stuff is HEAVY. Feels like the wrestling mats from school. I hope this will make ALL the outside noise go away and trap ALL the Music on the inside!!!

Nathan@XSPower IS Great Customer service
I want to start out by thanking Nathan again for his great customer service!!! Nathan is a VERY friendly and helpful guy. I know it never gets old hearing a "job well done" So here I am Telling everyone what a GREAT job Nathan did. Here is my experience: I read a ton of forums and everyone just tells you to buy the biggest, baddest battery thats out there.(the D3100 if you where wondering) I Wanted a Second battery in my trunk for a good spot to connect all the runs of wire to and wanted a matching technology battery under the hood. Not nessasarily the same model but same tech. I was under the impression you wanted the bigger battery in the trunk and was still lost to what i should buy for my application? I didn't want to waste alot of money on batterys I didn't need. I called Nathan on the phone (like we did before the internet) and like I said he is a VERY helpful guy! He took the time to listen to my needs and gave me a few differant options as to what I could do and even gave me totals for cost over the phone. My needs are I have a 1999 Honda Accord 2.3L and plan on running about 3000-3500 RMS. I DO NOT compete, and I only listen at full tilt on the highway about 20 min. at a time. I still only have the stock alt. but like I said I don't tax the batterys at idle. Nathan Told me I could do the 5100 under the hood as thats the factory replacement size. Since I already Had a group34 redtop fit under the hood he told me I could use the 3400 for a little extra power. He then told me I could use the 975 in the trunk or the 1200 if I wanted a little extra power. I immediately asked why not the bigger battery in the trunk near the amps? He said this is not nessessary. He then told me what both sets of batterys would cost. as soon I hung up the phone I wondered what the diff between the S3400 and D3400 ? I called Nathan back and he was VERY friendly again and explained that they are the same battery. I went with the D3400 under the hood as my starting battery and the D1200 in the trunk. I love a little extra power and didn't break the bank ! I am very happy with my batterys and the GREAT customer service!!! Thanks again Nathan. maybe someone can pin Nathans contact info and this topic for others to leave thier experiences.

XS Power Batteries for my application
Why doesn't the store on SSA carry the 3400 batterys?
-
XS Power Batteries for my application
Thanks for setting me straight Nathan, I should of just said they were the same batt. As far as ordering, The store on here DOES NOT have the 3400 batterys? or I would of ordered here as Mathew at MechMan was NOT very friendly. I am scared to call them back with ANY questions. This post was edited fo better choose of words.

XS Power Batteries for my application
Don't know if the deal is still good but I bought mine from MechMan because they had FREE SHIPPING!!! I payed $239 shipped for the d3400 and $180 shipped for the D1200. Also if your wondering the diff between the S3400 and D3400, The only diff is the S3400 is red and comes with An I-bar and metal protective case. They are the same battery.
