  1. Cool. Thanks. Be sure to shoot me a message so I don't miss it if you don't mind.
  2. Thanks for the honest review. I will be running them in an active setup off a Pioneer 80prs. They will be powered by an old school Denon DCA-500 (underrated 50 x 2) around 6-7kHZ and up, with a set of the Opti8MI 8" mids on an Opti500x2 bandpassed on the low side around 100-120Hz and on the high side 6-7khz. The 8's are rated at 400 with a 97db efficiency so they should scream, hoping the tweets will keep up on a little over 1/2 power, until I can get my hands on a Opti100.2 (Zed made) to properly power them and complete my all Opti front stage.
  3. Nice! Sick flex. How you like those Opti tweets? I will be using the BT25's in my next door setup.
  4. So, the X has served me well. I love the sound and performance. Absolutely murders the lows and moves a shit ton of air for being in the back of a minivan. But, I want more. Have always wanted a fully custom sub and now I will finally be getting it. This will be happening after the first of the year in preparation for SBN 2014. Sub will be built off a 874oz Treo CSX 15 motor. Will have a 12" Ti basket, 8 layer flat wound D.7 coil from PE right here in Ft. Myers, FL. Will use 10" spiders, Zv4 surround and cone, basket will be powder coated lime green, and will use a lime green carbon fiber dust cap. Keeping the same box I have for the X-12 (may add some bracing) and adding a second Shark Audio SHKAMP-2500D to strap the pair at 1.4 ohms. Should be a solid 3K if not a little more. Gap: Mocked up: Carbon Fiber for dust cap:
  5. Been looking into the Lanzar Optis for my next build. Most of them are .5 stable and do rated power at that ohm load. I will be running a 3201D at .5 in my next build. They have a 4001D ($400 shipped) as well that does 4K at .5 and a 4601D that does 4600 ($540 shipped) at .5. Sonic Electronix is an authorized dealer. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/search?action=search&keyword=lanzar+opti
  6. Pretty much have my mind made up on the Opti3201D. It's the next one down from yours. Was looking at the 4000D and the 3500D, but the 3201 will be perfect for my next sub as it will be a D1 and the amp makes power at .5.
  7. Oh, just noticed the made in Korea on the side of the box in your pic. Nice. That covers one of my questions.
  8. Looking into these amps now myself. How is it holding up so far? Seem like it's doing rated? I'm wondering how different the new plastic end cap ones are from the old metal case ones. I know the 4000D and 6000D share boards with the SS XXX 6500 and 10000 and were made in Korea. Does it say made in Korea on your box? Any info provided is appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Wow, so much hate. I've had two subs with PSI recones, and besides my current Sundown X-12, they were both the best subs I've ever owned. One was an RE MT 12 and the other a RD Alpha 15. David is a great guy and has answered questions for me concerning potential purchases quickly and sometimes after hours. Quality products at a great price that don't take weeks or months to get built and shipped, like some of the OEM manufacturers y'all are referring to.
  10. Yeah, guy here in FL had Rusty special make him some lvl 6 15's. He kept breaking them (soft parts). Motors are great though. He ended up tearing them all down, putting Ti baskets on them, and reconing them with PSI softies. Hasn't had a single issue out of them since. This is in a daily with 4 on 20K+. I would definitely jump on that BTL. Great price like everyone said already. And UFO BTL's can in fact get low as shit. I have personally heard many of them do it.
  11. Decaf just redid all of his zips. Grabbed the new Zip 31 before I left the house earlier. Sounds amazing!! http://www.ram-designs.com/decaf/
  12. Wow, just WOW!! Sexy ass box bro. Bet that shit sounds great. Love the wires and terminals.
  13. I'd ask Mike to be sure. But, I believe the pulley on the HO alt is smaller to make it turn faster so maybe. Depends on how much slack is left, may be taken up by the tensioner.
  14. Awesome bro! Just read thru the whole log from front to back (thanks for putting the link in your sig btw!) and I have to say I am very impressed. Thanks for keeping it updated with each change. I love my X-12, couldn't imagine having 2. I have 1 in the back of a minivan and it is just insane. Nobody believes it's only a single 12 till I show them. Can't wait to see what yours does with the new box! The X's definitely do great in bigger boxes. Mine is 3 cubes net tuned at 31Hz with 50 insq of port and it kills the lows. Can play down to 20Hz with authority. Keep up the good work. Tuned in!!
  15. Ah, just reread and see you have the Lanzar. Cool. How you like your X's? I love mine. Must be nice to have two, lol. I may get another along with a second Shark and strap them on the 2 X's.
  16. I'm running the Shark Audio SHKAMP-2500D (Audiopipe APSM-2000 in a different heat sink) and love it for the price. On a budget it can't be beat. I know it's a little smaller than what you're looking for, but figured I'd make you aware of the option anyways. $112 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/shark-shkamp2500d-2500W-Mini-Design-Mono-MOSFET-Car-Audio-Professional-Amplifier-/261153556819?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item3ccdf70953

Good thing my 5 year old daughter was looking at her drawing and not at my PC screen as she was sitting right next to me when I opened this thread.

  21. Pizza vs cheeseburger. I'm a pucking idiot. ...cheeseburger pizza
  22. Awesome pics! I miss being on the water so much. I was a deck hand for a small marine towing company for a while. Then I worked at International Ship Repair here in the Port of Tampa as a deck hand on their tug boat. Moved the crane barges around and assisted putting the ships on and off the dry docks. Think those ships are huge, try walking underneath one that's blocked up on a dry dock, lol. That shit is crazy.
