BL 15 box build
The sub arrived on Wednesday last week, so it hasn't been in that long, but here is what I did with camera when it showed up... Heavy duty packaging... Chrome dustcap I like the sticker on the magnet... I don't know why. My two "woofers"

O.K. so here is the box getting finished construction-wise, (cosmetics pics on the way soon) Box with only single layer top: Second layer in place: Screwed, (lol), and waiting for the glue to dry: Maybe I went a little overboard with the clamps, but better safe than sorry... "Speaker wire" cut and ready:

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35
I hope so. You got all this nice stuff sitting around and getting dusty... Gotta get this thing bumpin' and blow off all those cobwebs! Good luck with the rest of the install, hope it doesn't go as funky as this first part.

First box build
Not saying that good bracing isn't important, just that you won't need to get your knickers in a twist over bracing for these subs.

First box build
I don't think the type S's will be so utterly destructive that you will need to worry about serious bracing. So yeah, x2, it's your choice.

New amp
Thanks for your input. I'll check that out.

New amp
Basically... IF I had the money now, which is the better amp? By better I mean more reliable/powerful. I know that the 1200d can do 1450 according to the audioque site, but I have seen anything for the sundown other than "1000 at 1 ohm"

New amp
So, I just but in the new BL, (see sig for more info), and I am very displeased with the amp I'm powering it with, so I think it's time for a new one. Current amp is putting out 600 at 1 ohm, (so it claims, not so sure it is), and I am looking to change that; on a $300ish or less budget I was thinking an audioque 1200d or an SAZ-1000d, (the pre-order for the sundown 1200 will be long over by the time I have the money for a new amp, so it is probably out of my price range). Are there other good choices out there? This is going to be a budget-concious set-up so if there are two solid amps putting out decent power, then I'd go for the cheaper one, unless of course it is obvious the pricier one is of extremely high quality, (there are always exceptions)... Let me know if I have yet again forgotten to give out some important information... Don't worry, finishing the Big 3 soon and looking at new battery/alternator before new amp. Thanks

BL 15 box build
Here, in grandma and grandpa's, (box would not be possible without gpa's tools and woodworking knowledge/expertise), basement, we have something that is starting to look like a box... Wow... ummm... So I've never had a 15 before... Seems like it might be kinda scary for those not expecting this much bump in a wee little wagon... I'm excited to drop this baby in! The cutout ID is 14 1/8" My hand looks so little... But I can play a 10th on a piano.... Now I'm sure you are all wondering what kind of amp I've got... Here's what I'm powering this baby with: A High Output Dog-Lifier!!! That's my practice marimba at left...

BL 15 box build
It worked!!! Goll'dang I'm happy when I figure out computers!!! Here are more: This is the "top of the top" cut and completed: This is the "bottom of the top" cut and routed and soon to be painted: Here are the jumper cables I'm going to use for speaker wire: The box without top assembled and painted. Assembly shots were lost to stupidity, (mine). Yeah, no 45s, but no one's perfect... "Bottom of top" painted: Both together:
