  1. My xp voltage would vary slightly depending on temperature outside, cold morning ~15.5v, hot afternoon(100 degrees, tucson arizona) it would sometimes sag down to 15.2v or so. All at idle. The alt was very impressive. The alt voltage doesn't need to be adjusted, or should I say meddled with.
  2. Im not going to say which driver is better because: I don't know, and better is all relative to the goal in mind. Install will be a major factor. Personally I use ssa fi / aa, but that's just me. Certainly possible to make a fi Q sound like ass and a spl driver decent, and vice versa.
  3. Then you need to buy some Kickers. Makes sense.
  4. ssh replied to k3n12ock's topic in Classifieds Feedback

  5. Sorry for double post im on mobile, but the above about the abuse testing was the AA Arsenel Another aa / fi driver
  6. to be honest, i didnt think the ssd's would get any votes. but they have got them all so far haha. none for the SA 15's?? Wait ten minutes and someone will say re, sundown, and so forth. Its all about personal opinion and preference. All the fi products I have heard and used have been awesome, ssd is a solid driver made by an american company, what's not to love? There was a topic posted a few months ago, abuse/spl tested multiple mid level drivers, I believe the ssd yielded the most output, handeled more power then others, and its designed for sq not numbers. Says a lot...
  7. Fi SSD. Glad I could help your decision making, lol.
  8. Lucky guess, I know if I was to do a new build I'd be tempted to use a few 15" dcons
  9. This. Although I don't know about the SA's but the Skars sounded like butt to me, no where near what my ICON sounds like. Haven't heard any skars, SAs sounded good to me, but the icons I had were just on another level (sq). Would the SSD's have comparable SQ? The SSD's sound great, but ive never heard an icon to compare. I haven't heard any ssds but I think they would be more comparable to the icons in the sq realm.
  10. I don't believe the sa12s or skars are up to par with ssa icons as far as SQ goes.
  11. How much room do you have? Can you find your net volume?
  12. Ssa icon would be damn good. Sq is superb and still pack a punch.
  13. I can post some more later tonight.
  14. Thanks, but Mark is going to take care of that for us. Didn't know, it was worth a shot Does the motor still weigh 90lbs+, and if so, is this the motor for the divine or genisis? Pretty hefty. I'll probably be doing a smaller scale sq build in a few months, going to keep this in mind!
  15. That's a beautiful basket. Send me one and I'll do product photos, like this
  16. Reminds me when I had my dips, I changed from bessel to butterworth filtering, got better at 10k, worse at 4k, crossed a little differently, moved the spikes around, got it better. Decided it wasn't all that important, got a few beers saw a movie, great day actually. Then I switched amps with 1% better efficiency and slightly lower THD, saw open season 2. Got everything back on an RTA for some measurements and decided I watched Open Season 2 but forgot to see the first one, silly me. Changed from kicker 8awg wire to stinger 8awg wire, the audible difference is amazing, much less clipping, can't hear as much bottoming out thank god. So... I'm sorry but I just had to.
  17. Matches the KTM in my garage I like the detail that goes into hand for your products, simple stuff, yet makes everything a whole lot easier.
  18. In your case your amp is not in a closed off area like a trunk car so your amp gets air flow No it's not in a trunk, It's mounted directly behind my rear window getting baked from 100+ degree weather from outside. And I've seen sundown amps in extreme situations with no problems. But it's hard to tell how much "air flow" there really is when the OP hasn't shown any pictures. It sounds like he has a good power supply too, so that shouldn't be an issue. My previous sundowns on a dc alt were barely warm to the touch, my current amp on stock alt with somewhat bad voltage drop likes to get toasty.
  19. I wonder if you switched amps if you'd still have a problem. I know my sundown doesn't have any issues. Or some Rockford BDs?
