  1. just remember the RE calculator doesn't include driver and bracing displacement in volume specs. I've also read that the tuning may be a little higher...
  2. What did you use to deaden your roof?
  3. What front speakers do you have?

It's 0.5ohm not volts. Before I stress the amp with .5ohm I'll have sufficient electrical to back it up. As for loving the icons, I own two already and they are phenomenal drivers. I have a build log with what I have so far, it's got pics so check it out. When the new build is here, I'll post more

Thanks for posting the link sefugi I'm be using a saz-1500d on 0.5ohms for now.

If your box is tuned to 31hz and your amp has a fixed ssf at 25hz, then you still have some room for damaging your driver.
  8. What is a good voltmeter? My front speakers are very load and they can handle almost all the volume my deck can produce before becoming staticly, wat kind of 0ga wire? If you put an amp on your front speakers then they'll not only get louder without "static sound" aka distortion but they'll sound better (nothing beats a clean signal) You can either get a dmm digital multimeter for checking voltage and/or a lcd display voltmeter (such as the one made by stinger). I suggest buying both as a dmm is required in this hobby and the stinger voltmeter comes in handy when your inside the cabin and can actually watch the voltage.
  9. Ported: 2.5-2.75ft^3 @ 26-33hz opt. specs are from ssaudio.com I would do 2.75cubes 30hz but whatever volume fits your vehicle

That video is sweet! Goodjob man. cant wait to see some videos from slamology too
  16. How much power are you using? If It was me, I would build a ported enclosure to opt. specs for the BTL, tuned to ~29hz. How much volume(space) do you have in your vehicle for an enclosure?
  17. Happy Birthday Jacob, time to party!!!

okay thanks, so is there enough difference between the volume from 1 15 btl and 2 12 bls to warrant the $200 price difference? Right now i have 2 10" type r's in a prefab ported box and they are pretty loud. how much louder would 1 15" btl be in a ported box tuned for spl? would there be a night and day difference between the two? what vehicle is this going in? how much space do you have (volume)? haha by volume i meant sound output, but it is going into a 2000 ford taurus, so it has a ton of trunk space. my 2 10's take up probably less than a third of it haha by volume I meant volume (SPACE) in your car for an enclosure, not sound output... I definitely have the space to put a 3-5 cu ft box in my trunk. how much difference will there be between two bl 12's and one btl 15 on 1500 watts? will there be a night and day difference between the btl and my two type r 10s? also what does "Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil" mean? does it mean that if i get the dual 2 ohms and wire it in parallel it will actually be .7 ohms instead of 1? its the voice coils resistance, not the impedance, so don't worry about it. one dual 2ohm speaker can be wired to either 1ohm or 4ohm. Two dual 2ohm speakers can be wired to 0.5ohm, 2ohm, or 8ohm. that makes sense. so what about sound output? (spl) Could you fit two 15" BLs?

  24. 8" 10" 12" 15" 18" 21", etc can all reproduce the same notes and frequencies. Most local audio shops have never heard of FI, ssa, sundown, dc, etc, so it doesn't mean much when they say theyve never heard of them before
