Upfiring enclosure w/ top
how much space would it need to not cancel out and not have unloading problems?

For 400 bucks what would you do?
I would go for a 15" but I can only fit a box with 14" width... ssa and sundown audio are not the only choices, but I do love the fact of their customer service. Perhaps I should look at IA and fi as well I've been leaning towards the sa-12's and so far a couple agree.

For 400 bucks what would you do?
my budget for sub(s) is $400, I've been looking at either getting two sa-12s, two dcon 12"s, or a single xcon 12" My goal is to get loud, (don't want it for burps and competition tho) enclosure will be ported, I have plenty of room (3-6.5cubes) I'm assuming two sa-12"s would be louder than the dcons and louder then a single xcon. But then again I could be full of s***. I'll be powering it with an sae-1200d (1200watts). What would you do? I know the xcon is an amazing sub, but I also figure there is no replacement for displacement AND i'll only be running 1200watts so it won't be at its full potential. P.S: the only subs I have heard besides mine (10" type-r...) is two rockford fosgate punch3 12"s on like 300 watts in a prefab box (and it made me happy, so i'm expecting to have an eargasam from my future subs) -Stefan

direction of port
awesome Looks like i'll be doing port back then
-
direction of port
my subs are going to be upfiring (towards roof), would it sound best to have the port facing the rear of car? or facing roof (same direction as subs)? Or does it even matter? This is going in a 2door jeep wrangler. Thanks

Upfiring enclosure w/ top
Okay so i'm planning on having a box built for 2 12"s and having the subs face the roof (see pic) I'm wondering if I have a top piece of wood above the subs, how that would affect the sound? The top piece of wood would be above the subs by a couple inches. This would allow me to put stuff on my box for storage (ex: my backpack...) Does this make sense?

mounting amp on enclosure
After reading respected members input, I'm just going to make a L-bracket underneath the driver seat and mount the amp vertically behind the seat.

Quiet the ride
What would you use to kill rattles in your dash? I'm looking at the secondskin site but they have so many different products I don't know which would be best for the dash (plastic on plastic). Also the roof of my jeep wrangler is plastic-ish Heres a pic: Would it be worth it to put some "Luxury Liner" or any other product on it? It doesn't rattle, but might make cabin quieter from road noise? Any input? Thanks

3 Sa-8s Vs 1 15 btl
Ignore my post, sorry about that.

3 Sa-8s Vs 1 15 btl
Get the 15" 3 subs will put a weird impedance on your amp, depending on whether you get 2ohm dvc or 4ohm, but either way you won't be able to run 1ohm,2ohm,4ohm,etc unless you want to run multiple amps, but for that amount of power I doubt you do...
- Why ?!

Guys, what do you thing about Pandas ?
don't want to threadjack but I'm curious how a 2door jeep wrangler would be? I only have a single 10" at the moment in my TJ so I can't really say how mine is. The top(roof) is all plastic/fiberglass or whatever instead of metal. Plus the cabins small...

bummer man, can you just replace that part and resolder it on? Is it a fuse block?

mounting amp on enclosure
So my rear tailgate is bent and allowed water to leak in and get on my box... But its alright, I ordered a new tailgate so that problems fixed now... I'm planning on having the new enclosure go from behind the driver seat to the tailgate. The subs will be facing the roof. I'll mount the amp somewhere behind the driver seat and new enclosure.

mounting amp on enclosure
Im getting a sae-1200 amp and 2 sa-12's. So around 1200watts. I'm going to have a enclosure built by argent audio (ported). This will not be in any competitions, just playing music on my way from a to b enclosure volume will be around 4.5cubes, the height being high enough to mount an sae-1200 on the side. I'll post pictures in a bit

mounting amp on enclosure
I'm going to mount my amp vertically on the side of my enclosure, anyone have any tips or suggestions for reducing vibration? I've read where people mounted them straight on the box then ruined the amp after heavy playing... So should I mount the amp to some mdf with rubber grommets then have that mount to the side of the enclosure? Any help would be appreciated
