Help Me Hit the Lows
You are probably gonna need more airspace and tuned lower. I am not familiar with those subs but 1.6cu seems small for a ported 12. 2.5cu at around 28-30hz would be better I would think.

Blazer 4 door (2) 18s Fi Qs
I cannot imagine how this will sound! You will have to keep wrenches and tools in the truck just to tighten things up every few days, lol.

BTL Trouble
Sounds like he screwed up, If you have that sub firing up at the back glass in a halfway decent box it would hit hard. Much less a FI recommended ported setup. Something sounds wrong

I am done with it for now. I will add the leather arm pad when I get time. I simply cannot say enough about this sub, I am very pleased. I will try and post some vids at some point.

Thanks I did the cooling option and the spider option. There is no BP option anymore it justs comes that way on the new ones. BTW, I turned the freq cutoff up to around 80 or so and stuck Mudvayne in there and it rocks.

Enclosure for Q
3.5 cubes is small for a ported 15? ): Mine is in 3.6 cubes ported and it destroys the low notes but is tuned to do so! I thought you said u had 3.5 before port area and displacement? That will leave you with 2.8 or maybe alittle more if you do a slot port. Its on the lower side but should be plenty to do what you want. Just be aware of what you tune it to. Too high and you will lose low end, tune too low and you will lose the punchy higher notes that you said you like. That why I said go sealed. I had had 3 different sealed setups and they all sounded good with alot of output. 2 of those were trunk cars. Just ask FI what they recommend and they will lead you in the right direction.

Enclosure for Q
If you want it to play 30-80 with decent output I would still do a sealed setup. The Q15 will have plenty of output on 1k. I have mine ported and tuned low, but I could care less about 50+hz being very loud. At 50hz mine sounds very clear and has decent output, but at -40 is where mine starts to shine. Nick would tell you best though

Extending port of Pre-Fab ported box
I would not be hard at all to do what Ram said. Unless you sell it I would give that a try and recarpet.

ssa is the shit!!!
Awesome, I wanna see pics

Enclosure for Q
My opinion would be to go sealed then. Sounds like you want a strong midbass as well. If you want a decent output from 20-200hz I wouldnt even consider a ported setup. Thats a huge range.

I do have room for a second baffle but I am gonna wait on that to make sure the current screws hold the sub in place. I want to be able to add a second baffle later just so I can use longer hardware if I had to. Thanks it turnout better that I thought it would and the sub is just amazing!

sa-8 or sa-15
I personally would much rather have one 15 then multiple 8's. But in the end its all up to what you want.

I have a beltronics radar / voltage meter in dash and it is staying between 13.5-14.2 with it playing but again it doesnt seem like I am really putting much to it just by sub excursion. I will try and play with the gain settings, I just didnt know if it was ok to go full tilt with it the first day which is basically what I will have to do in order to do it by ear. Thanks!

All I can say is Holy Shit! This is the best sounding sub I have heard. It destroys the low notes and is super clean. Dont have any updated pics but curiosity killed me and I had to put the sub in and test fit the box. The measurements were perfect! I feel like I am not really even pushing it though. Gain is set about 35% and with the remote knob all the way up I can tell it will take more to it easily. Would it be ok to have the gain about 1/2 way up? I will leave it the way it is for a few days before messing with it. and see how it loosens up. I am very pleased with how this turned out!!

Thanks guys I am thinking maybe filling, sanding and doing it in a gloss black lacquer finish, then just wrapping a 1/2in board in leather on top. I have the stock pad but it is awfully narrow compared to this beast.

How to wire amp?

How to wire amp?
I have breifly looked but can some please tell me how to wire my saz1500 v2 to my FI 2ohm sub for a 1ohm load. Also does it matter which way the rca's are in? (They are not colored red and white on the amp) Pics would be awesome. I know these may be dumb questions but its the last thing for me to do.

Box is done, All I have to do now is figure if I want to carpet or try leather/vinyl. I'm too tired to hook it up and get it in the truck tonight so I will have to wait till tomorrow to hear it. This will be my first ported box. I have always had sealed. I have about 16hrs in this box. I know that may sound like a lot to yall experienced people but I wantet to try and do it right. Anyway here are the pics. Bracing Test fitting sub I know one thing, this SOB is stout

My friend let me use his small wood shop Some good cuts made piecing together, fits good straight cuts This is a bad mofo starting on bottom first now top using Locktite wood glue and 1 5/8 screws every 4-5inches or so, then sealing the deal with liquid nails deck glue/sealant. 1 inch dowel bracing, top to bottom and side to side Only thing left is to put top on and round over the outside edges, Inside has heavy sealant smoothing out the corners. I am really happy how its turning out seeing that I designed and built the thing and havent done anything like this in years! I cant decide if I want a double baffle on front, doesnt need one for strength but may use it for added screw length and hold with the sub in place. Depends on clearance in truck, I may leave it alone. Now I just hope it sounds good.

I may do the top that way but I cant on the sides because the box is at max dimensions and would press on the sides of each seat pretty good. Worked on the box about 6 hours yesterday. Measuring, drawing, cutting and had so much MDF dust on me it was hard to tell what color my clothes were. Today I have 2 more cuts to make and will glue and screw the box together. I will post build pics this afternoon.

I think I may have to take a front seat and center console out just to install the sub after the box is in place, haha It really isnt as bad as the pics look. But it will be large, It is perfect height for an arm rest as you can see it almost matches the front A look at what kinda room I have to work with. port goes behind seat on right, amp rack behind left seat I will start tomorrow and hopefully have sound by Sunday

Thanks, Nope, all clear. And when I lean it forward there is enough room to adjust the settings too. It even clears the dist box with the seat all the way back. Did another cutout tonight for final measurements out of cardboard. This phucker is huge! LOL I may just carpet it with the leather Harley arm rest on top? I have a hookup at a furniture store to get Black sofa leather but will have to wait a couple weeks for it to come in. Thoughts?
