  1. You could build it with almost anything, plywood, mdf, formica countertop, pressboard, steel, plastic, 1x4, 2x4, etc. Are you going to carpet it or cover it in some way?
  2. I've got some welding cable in the back of the truck with several inches of insulation missing, just bare braided copper hanging everywhere in several spots. It's been this way for about 5-6 years and gets rained, snowed, pissed on all the time and works as good now as the day it was purchased about 10 years ago. I don't think it's ever been out of the weather overnight. I do not know much about it oxidizing but even if it does, it does not affect the cable's ability to transfer current enough to cause worry imo.
  3. I prefer stock over those halos. How bright are these aftermarket lights?
  4. Aeroports take up less internal volume than a standard slot port.
  5. Welcome back.
  6. If you're just asking what size battery to get, I'd get the biggest one I could fit/afford.
  7. Most people in general are satisfied with a good set of coax. There's more tuning involved with the components but when you dial them in, the listening experience is usually greatly enhanced. Do you plan on running an amp to them? If not, a set of coax would probably be better. What are you using/going to be using for a sub stage?
  8. Xcon and SA series imo are both great choices as they will both work just fine sealed or ported, so you have the option to run ported later if you change vehicles or decide to only run 1. If money's tight, go SA, if you have a little extra in the back pocket, I really doubt you'll be disappointed with a pair of Xcons.
  9. nobody knows... depends on how much strain you're putting on the electrical system. Will it charge the battery as you're sitting in a parking lot demoing your 2,500 watt stereo with lights, heater and windshield wipers going? I doubt it. Will it charge the battery while you're cruising 65 mph down the highway during the day with no AC/heat and the stereo turned down? Probably.
  10. I would just trim it carefully and heatshrink that sucka
  11. nice car I like zee wheels
  12. I have the Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 components, haven't hooked them up yet though. There are several good choices under $150. Crescendo, Alpine type R, Bravox D series come to mind. Are you looking for components, coax, just mids? You sure didn't give us much to go on.
  13. good job on the dual battery tray, I'm thinking about doing the same for my Bronco
  14. Ok, got an email back, this is what I found out... 1. What time does it start? Gates open at 8 am on Sat and Sunday. We have a mini moto planned on Sat and it starts at 5 pm 2. How much does it cost? Spectators are free, vehicles entered into the show cost $20 each on site or $15 on our preregistration page www.kicker.com/bash 3. Will there be any sales on Kicker merchandise? We are planning a small tent sale on Saturday. We also have a retail store in our museum and it sells promo items and KICKER headphones/docks 4. Will there be any spl testing or competition? We are not hosting an SPL competition this year. We have talked about it and if the show gets bigger (this is only our second year), we will contact USACi or someone and get them to sanction the show and run points 5. Will we be able to demo our own car audio/video systems? Not sure what you mean. You will be able to play your systems, sure.. but we do not have power available for demo purposes. 6. Will alcohol be allowed/sold? Alcohol is allowed (like we could stop it if we wanted to J) we will not be hosting alcohol on site, but you are welcome to bring your own. The only thing we ask is that you don’t bring glass and that our guests don’t get slammed and cause trouble.
  15. Nice box. It looks like that TSNS is moving a good bit of air. Can't wait to see what 4 of them will do.
  16. UPS dropped off the other 2 pcs of wire a couple hours ago, just as promised. Very good customer service. I don't see myself buying power/ground cable from anyone else as long as Weldingsupply.com is in business.
  17. So, this is about the only event that I know of even remotely close enough for me to drive to. I will be there (hopefully my Bronco will be done) along with my brother and possibly more people we know around here (Seminole). Hoping this will be a good time and we will be able to demo. I called but got no information whatsoever, I just emailed them to find out some info. I will post up anything I find out. Has anyone else been to one of these events?
  18. Sundown FTMFW
  19. Keep up the good work. I have 0 experience with that type of car, is it unibody?
  20. more internal volume, lower tuning?
  21. dead set on 1 15? you could run multiple small, cheap subs on less power (I'm thinking like 4 10" subs on 1500 watts) and get plenty loud (maybe louder) while taking up the same amount of space approximately and saving some cash, less power also means less strain on your electrical system. For your $700 you could get subs/amp/box building supplies/Big 3. Just a thought, not trying to deter you (I would personally get the Xcon and AQ but I have some electrical upgrades)
