  1. Oh yeah, the alternator is a real PITA to get to on these. If you plan on installing a ho alt and would like to know how to go about getting to it, let me know. We put a DC Power 230a alt on the 2008. I don't know how much a shop would charge to do it but it would be worth it if it's not a few hundred (though it may be since it's such a bitch to do).
  2. What year Chevelle? I'm partial to '65-67 models myself, though I would not mind a '70 LS6 at all.
  3. I think everyone loves a nice double kerf. What will you be powering this monster with?
  4. Only 11" for depth? Are you looking to keep some space back there? We managed to fit an 18" in 6 cubes in the back of my brother's 2008 Caliber. He had a couple of different dual 12" setups before this and they were impressive for the cheap subs and cheap, low power he was running.
  5. Crazy, I wonder wtf happened to cause that.
  6. It's got a high performance audio system
  7. Very cool that SSA is carrying Ascendant Audio. This should be good for all parties involved.
  8. Consider used and all of those amps become available to him.
  9. This would be nice.
  10. You should be able to get plenty of output out of them bridged on that amp with the gain low. I wouldn't expect them to last very long with 240 watts per side listening at high volume. It would be hard to find another mid or tweet to go with the rest if you smoke one. I'm not implying in any way that you don't know what you're doing, just would like to see you happy with this set for a long time to come.
  11. If you're wanting new, the AQ 2200D or Crescendo BC2000 would fit in your budget and be a nice match while offering plenty of power in case you decide to get another D1 BL or something else to wire down to 1ohm. If you're not opposed to buying used and you have a little patience, you could surely find something very nice for $450. I know you said $450 max but for another 50, you could get your hands on a nice, new refurbed Sundown SAZ 2500D from Chris @ db-r. Just a couple of suggestions, there are plenty of nice amps out there that will power that BL just fine in your price range.
  12. You got them installed already? I didn't even know they had been delivered yet. I'm sure glad someone is enjoying them.
  13. We will definitely for verification

Should be just enough volume for a nice, custom ported enclosure.
  15. Look like Vmax drivers to me.

Here are the recommended enclosure specs for 12" Sundown Audio drivers - 1.5 - 2.0 cubes ported / 1.0 to 1.25 sealed
  17. a 15" should work well in there

That is awesome, more schools should have something like this.
