  1. Man, it sure sucks ass when they start throwing codes left and right, good luck getting it figured out and fixed up.
  2. If the fuse is good and not blowing it, I don't see a problem with a 80 amp. Heck I've clamped over 500RMS from 8gauge and a 30 amp fuse. And I know people who use to compete in MECA when they had the fusing rules, ran a Kicker 2500 on 50 amps of total fusing. There was special ways to make that happen, but that's besides the point. They still use fuse ratings + cone area to determine class. There are several guys doing 150 with 30-40 amps of fusing still. They have placed restrictions on the number of fuses though now. To the OP, check and make sure your fuse holder is not broken. I've had the same problem before and the fuse was fine, just the holder had cracked a bit inside and started allowing the fuse to slip out of the connectors just a tiny bit and the amp was cutting off/on as the fuse slipped in and out of the connection.
  3. Sure, he should be able to wire to 1.5 ohms by wiring series/parallel and be just fine.
  4. I would go back to 2 ohms or keep the volume/gain down until you get the other battery just to be safe.
  5. Nice choice I'm wating on my 2nd db-r Sundown right now.
  6. You can and should amp a passive 2 way component set. All you need to do is hook up and run the speaker wire from the amp's speaker terminals to the crossover, and then wire from the crossover to the separate mid and tweeter. It's very simple and the crossover has markings to let you know where to connect each wire.
  7. We need some better vids! Good shit nonetheless, thanks for sharing
  8. If that's what he wants, go for it, that's a good price if they're not damaged. These are usually 550-600 each new.
  9. I don't blame ya, I'd only do a wall in a show/spl only vehicle.

  11. Anyone going to make it to either of these?

It takes time to build these things by hand.

That's great! Indeed, this is typical.
  14. I highly doubt it, most of the Sony amps I've seen (like the ones from wal-mart) get really hot and do not last when you turn 'em up a bit to actually try to get a decent bit of power from them, you'll likely see about 2-300 watts out of it for a short time before it goes up in smoke. This is at 4 ohms by the way, I'm not even sure if they will handle a 2 ohm load.
  15. Waiting on my 2nd refurbed amp from db-r right now as well, the 100.2 I received last time looked damn near like brand new.
  16. doubt it does anywhere near 1000 watts This^ The one's I have seen used tend to get hot too.

Agreed. I think alot of these people should be forced to have abortions.
  19. Friday night is MSE Test & Tune with Mark Eldridge in Bixby. This is a single point MECA event. Saturday is the Oklahoma Autosound Challenge in Tulsa at Car Toys. This is a double point MECA event. I plan on attending at least one of these (probably Saturday) but I'm going to try to make it to both if possible.

Imagine how bad it would be if we weren't allowed to get abortions.
