Just finished the install. And wow! What a sound quality difference! Is it the 4v pre-outs that make that much of a difference!???

Yea I can't wait to install mine. Although I will be running passive for now. I like the rear usb vs front that way I can hide my ipod in the glove box. and 4v pre-outs are always nice.

so... i was at BestBuy the other day. just looking. and came across the cda-117. ive always liked the look of the unit and the fact that it has 4v pre-outs... well, i looked at the price and it said $177 clearance. (this means once they are out... they're out) so get it while you can! i was like WHAT!?! so i bought it on an impulse buy. lol. its about #50 from Crutchfield. and lowest i can find is about @285 from an UN-authorized dealer. http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500CDA117/Alpine-CDA-117.html?search=cda-117&skipvs=T SO... if you guys are looking for a nice HU on the cheap, go snatch this up! i was honestly gonna buy the other 2 they had when i got my paycheck and resell for profit... but the were gone. Just go to weldingsupply.com and get the cheapest 1/0 they have. Its pure copper. And the cheapest quality wire. That's what I used and it worked very well. Post pics after you do it. also, wherever u ground at... be sure to sand the paint off so its a metal to metal contact.

Try it ported for sure. Pretty sure it will suite your needs for being "louder". I had a 12" Q in a 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 32hz. It was very flat and even response.
