My Amp Clips When I Have The Bass Up.
WHAT?? are you kidding me? lol the sub is THE thing that will get hurt by clipping. when you clip, the sub actually moves less and has a bit of a pause at each peak. so there is less air being forced through the voice coil and it overheats. just look at a sign wave, that wave is exactly what a speaker is doing. if there is a flat part, the speaker is holding at that point.

Amp putting out its full potential?.. I hope not HELP
use a -6db tone. songs almost never equal a 0db tone. where the gain is will depend on the voltage output of the HU. mine is half way, one friend's is almost all the way up, another had the gain all the way down and it still clipped because he had an 8v preout.

ya the knobs are weird. not much of a difference after half way up. what do you have the subs wired to? 1ohm, 2ohm, 4ohm?

My Amp Clips When I Have The Bass Up.
anything under 12v is a bad thing. i always try to stay above the batteries resting voltage. as for clipping, your gains aren't set correctly. you need to turn the gain down or just dont turn up your remote knob so much. clipping is horrible for subs. the sub will move less and therefore cool itself less, while getting more heat from the amp putting out dirty power. it is the main reason for a blown sub.

eh, it worries me a little bit. i do have foam rubber under the mounting rails. i think having the amps upside down helped with the old amps. all the components are sitting on top of the board instead of hanging from it. takes away some pressure. at least thats my theory. but these amps have a 2 year warranty so... who cares lol.

sound outside the car
who cares who is louder outside? you want to be louder inside. i mean, if you really care about pissing other people off on the road, just put the speakers in your grill. but you old told us your friends subs. we have no idea what you have, subs, box, amps, car. you didnt say shit lol.

Rear loading wall for a wall
Rusty at DC told me about the same thing. seemed unbelievable. im sure it depends on the box but i say give it a try. just put the wood in place with some silicone so its easy to pry out if it doesnt work. and of course if it does work, make it permanent with wood glue.

6000w, two 12"s, 151.3db
hey guys, i just joined this forum so i figured i would introduce myself with a build log. i built this for 149.9 bassracing but i just as i finished everything, i moved to a place where there is no dbdrag so... damn. lol. but for some reason i like being a little different, so im trying to do it with a pair of 12"s. there is a sundown 1500 in most of these pics because thats what i started with. the crescendo amps are new. specs. 2x 12" DC level 4XLs 2x Crescendo 3ks box is 4^ft tuned to 38hz, 2x 6" aeros. my buddy James cutting the holes. glueing on the second baffle. i dont think i used enough clamps... i still had more i just made this thing to keep eyes off my car while it sits in the parking lot all day. but mostly to make my trunk usable. they are not usually in the car, just when i need the extra space. nice 6" aeros here are some 2" aeros. they had a ring on the back side of them that i had to remove. furtunitly i have a steady hand and a ban saw. then i had to cut them so they will fit. got the wood strips onto the box. cut out the holes. strips onto the amp racks. 2" aeros. the fans will be behind these. amp racks cut up and in place. 1st coat of stain. got a good deal darker. as requested painting the trim. its all assembled the sexy shot ports are in. box is in the car! hmmm, but whats missing... oh, i know! then i had to make some mods to fit the 3k's. and the most important... the proof.
