  1. Awesome score and video! I read that fiberglass doesn't stick to plastic.... Did you pre drill holes in the plastic?
  2. You shouldn't base your sub selection on somebody else's videos So many variables will be different in your setup than mine. If all you want is a system to do hair tricks then xcon's are more money than what you need to spend. The SA series from Sundown is a proven ground pounder and cost approx half of what xcon's do. Two sa-12's, 3k and an 8" port should be a good start
  3. Now when you were doing the vid, were the seats down? Seats down
  4. Thanks. The XD series from JL are great amps imo. They do rated power cleanly.
  5. It is easier to test the DCR of a single sub in a multi sub setup if every terminal on every coil is accessible without taking the box apart. I know.. hence, why use bolts? I ran all my wires straight out of my wall, one wire per terminal.. you can parallel, series, parallel\series outside of the wall all day long... Measure DCR, bla bla bla.. All adding bolts does is add resistance.. or for those doing daily and wondering how are they gonna get the wires out of the box.. just run them out of the box... Many people over-complicate things.. even i do sometimes when i'm not used to doing something... I see no reason for adding connection-breaks in line with the speaker wire except to say.. oh yea, i use bolts, there they are.. IT's not about just preventing resistance as it is a waste of time and money to use them... Hell, if someone likes the looks of bolts, just order some specialty copper bolts to go along with the cosmetic look.. might as well go all the way. I gotcha bro. It is a personal choice. It's all the same imo, bolts or wires (within the context of this thread). Although I do think it is easier to wire dual voice coil subs, when using 8 or 10 gauge wire, to use bolts as a "distribution point". Most push terminals accept only one 8 or 10 gauge wire (sometimes stuffing two ends of an 8 or 10 gauge wire through a push terminal is impossible without trimming wire). They're are ways around that though. All comes down to personal choice. Neither is wrong imo.
  6. I want to use a JL Audio XD400/4 amplifier to drive my front stage two-way component set. This amplifier is four channel but is bridgeable. I have a two channel input signal for the XD400/4. If I read the manual correctly, I need a y-adapter (I will just make a RCA cable with 2 in 4 out) to connect to the XD400/4 to use the amplifier as a L+R bridged. Right? So basically the XD400/4 needs a four channel input to run as stereo bridged? From the XD400/4 manual: "When a pair of the XD400/4’s channels are operating in bridged mode, the output will be in mono (only one channel). This mono channel can contain right channel only information, left channel only information or the sum of the information from both the right and left channels. In order to achieve one of these options, configure the inputs to that pair of channels in one of these two ways: 1) Left Channel Only or Right Channel Only Information: If you wish to send a left-only or right-only signal to a pair of the XD400/4’s channels, use a “Y-Adaptor” to split the single channel signal into both left and right RCA inputs. This option is useful when using a pair of the XD400/4’s channels to drive left channel speakers only and the other pair of the XD400/4’s channels to drive right channel speakers only. 2) Left + Right Channel Information: When bridged and fed by a stereo input, a pair of the XD400/4’s channels will automatically combine the left and right channels into a summed mono (left + right) channel. This option is useful when using a pair of the XD400/4’s channels to drive a subwoofer system or a summed mono center channel."
  7. It is easier to test the DCR of a single sub in a multi sub setup if every terminal on every coil is accessible without taking the box apart. I agree. The bolt length is only 3 or less inches long.
  8. Damn! That is a nice score man!!!! Congrats!!! One question. How did you get the transition from the fiberglass to the door plastic (area where staples are) so smooth?
  9. That is a DVM. Turn the dial to 20 ohms. It should read around 1 ohm at the speaker wires (disconnected from the amp).
  10. Do you know what the impedence (DCR) is of your suboofer system? Suchas:.you.might have two dual 2 ohm subwoofers wired for 0.5 ohm. If so the impedence (DCR) of your subwoofer system is 0.5 ohms. Set you DVM to ohms and disconnect the speaker wires at your subwoofer amplifier. But one lead from your DVM on the positive speaker wire and your other lead on the negative speaker wire. The display on your DVM should be around 0.3-0.7 (if your impendence is suppose to be 0.5 ohm, just an example) If no measurement then possibly your speaker wires are disconnected at your speakers. I hope I explained this good enough!
  11. you're a baddie Duran!!! play nice.... Its all good man. I will still help Duran remove his door panels when he cannot figure it out himself.
  12. Lol at you busting my balls. You are a clown. Yes there are specs available, call them.
  13. I remember the Lanzar ambulance and the Shaq's van, good stuff. If I recall the ambulance had 15's in plexi isobaric tubes and Shaq's van had neo motored 15's. I wish I would have been able to her Mark's Blazar!!!! Two of my local shops had decent demo cars. One was a Lanzar van walled out with 15's the other was a Kicker Ford Tauraus station wagon with 4 Kicker 18's in an plexiglass isobaric bandpass box. I would love to get my hands on a minty Rockford Power 1000!
  14. Not to mention customer service is great!
  15. Nice truck. Good job with the amp rack. Btl's mmm
  16. Check out TC Sounds Axis 15. TC Sounds Axis 15
  17. LOL and this is a "shallow" mount I love all the testing videos. Thanks!
  18. This really is a great deal fellas. My payment has been sent. Thank you.
  19. I read the manual a few times and I probably need to read a few more times again. Very interesting device. I do wish it had stereo outputs instead of a mono ouput but no biggie. I will be purchasing this soon.
  20. I started a thread about the ZED RA in the ZED Audio section. I am very interested in this a I am 95% sure I will be purchasing it. I would like to know more about it directly from the manufacturer if possible. Thank you for your input Impious

Will you please explain function of this component and how it is different than the Epicenter. Thanks.
  22. That has to be fun! What motor is in it?
