I think you will be very happy with an XCON sealed. Although small enclosures in an open air boat may not be too pleasing regardless.

I never owned an EA product. I am sure they are good. Probably comparable to Mechman and Ohio Generator. DC Power will not help you out? They are discontinuing their XP line but I am sure they can make you one based on the CS130D or another variation. They can be difficult to get ahold of sometimes but they really do make the best alternators available.

Why you would mention a multiple alternator setup? Based on the information given by the op an aftermarket alternator may not be needed let alone a multiple alternator setup. Let's just stick to the basics before the less informed (I say that kindly) become confused.

I have two Crescendo amps. I love them. Definitely not cheaply made imo. Sundown products are great. I do think that their prices are high though. It boogles my mind that some people think that if a product is priced fairly it must be crap. Used Sundown 3000D are going for more than a what a brand new 3kwp sold for and it was practically the same amp! The BC amps are not copies of Sundown amps. The boards are completely different and different build house.

I think your challenge is impossible to answer. Too many unknown variables.

"BC" stands for bass clef. Bass clef is a note in a passage of music. Crescendo is a meaning for a climax in a passage of music.

These new boards are completely different than Sundown. Quality is on par though. The 3kwp is nearly identical to the 3000D though.

This thread is getting f'd up fast. Your max system draw is probably under 145 amps. You do not need 1/0 for short runs throughout your engine bay. The 4awg plus your factory wires, if you left them there, are fine based on the information you gave. Assuming the system is installed correctly they're is no need for "big 3" wires to be of larger diameter than your power wire going to your amp, which I assume is 4awg (assuming you used the correct wire diameter). If you have extra cash burning a hole in your pocket upgrade your starting battery to a nice agm unit such as XS Power.

Phuck man. Seariously. I feel bad for you. NOW have alts that you can't use. I have read lots of positive things about DC Power in various corners of the web. I am sure they will eventually get things working for you.

Really depends on a couple different variables. -BUT- Based on your alternator ouput and length of the wire needed you should be able to answer your question fairly quickly. There are many 12v wire charts available, choose one from a reputable source.

I already "guessed" at an enclosure which sounds great and sends my car into a state of destruction but ate my trunk area in the process. So this time around I am trying to think a little more about it so I do not have to redo it again. Honestly Lance, I do not want to have to spend hours/days/weeks tuning this and changing box volumes. I would rather use a little math and help form you guys to do it right the second time aorund. I really do not want to drop $250 for Term-pro either. I do not have the knowledge just yet(!) to predict power handling based on vb and to be able to accurately guesstimate frequency response. I do have Winisd but ehh.... Your experience helps alot, as you stated 3 cubes (qtc of .6) is a start but could be better. OK, how much better.... 1.75 cubes (qtc.7), is better yet. Optimal?

Why is a qtc of 0.60 with a vb of 3.0^3ft better than a qtc of 0.70 with a vb of 1.75^3ft????? May or may not be for you, depends on your goals. Every manufacturer has to pick a Qtc for their recommended box sizes. Normally they end up having someone in marketing choose a number that the engineers present to them that they feel corresponds to their specific market. Generically speaking .7 is considered normal and lower numbers are more damped higher more "warm". On top of that the Q of the box will affect the roll off in the frequency domain. In the car audio world this can also be chosen such that it utilizes the "average" cabin gain effectively. I think no one really answered because you said better or they don't understand Qtc. Different sure, better, maybe. For sealed boxes in a listening area I would definitely encourage polyfill, for a trunk of a car not so much. It isn't only used for making the driver think its in a larger enclosure. Ah, I somewhat understand this better now. So for the XCON 15 in the trunk of my car, forward facing, which qtc value should I use with it's corresponding vb? I want good low end extension with smooth frequency responce. I also do not want to limit power handling due to an improper enclosure size.
