  1. I think you need a better understanding of your amplifier's current draw and you electrical supply before you go any further. I also do not believe that wiring this amplifier to .5 ohm daily will be of any benefit versus 1ohm. RD does not recommend loads under 1 ohm anyways. I think your best bet would be to have your sub reconed to d2 if you want to get the most out of your amp with this sub. Good luck
  2. A tight RCA connector ain't a bad thing in my book. I use an angled needle nose to disconnect my RCA leads. This way no pressure is on the connector to wire connection. I would assume that any RCA connector can be separated from it's lead with enough force.

    Thats a good reason!

    Why are you rear firing?
  5. Were did you see that? It is on a forum that SSA mods do not like
  6. I expect to see some lifted skirts!
  7. Weird. Thier correct number is 941.257.4764 email is [email protected] BTW, they are selling their 1000c4 for $195 shipped!!!
  8. Crescendo is around. Maybe they took an extended trip for SBN.
  9. I haven't looked at your video yet but I would love to how-to on using an o-scope!!!!!!! What brand/model o-scope is good for car audio use?
  10. Sure it is logical if the only thing you want in your vehicle is a box. That isn't practical for the majority of car audio enthusiasts. There are many downsides to having a huge box in your vehicle IMO.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am leaving it as is for now. If other issues arise I will order a recone from denim.
  12. I think with any more power no matter if it is a Stetsom or a Sundown you will need at least more battery reserve and a good battery charger or a HO alternator. If you set your gains cautiously you could be OK as is. I am running my 3kwp currently set for 1750wrms, about 41v at 1 ohm. I have a XS Power D3400 under the hood and another D3400 in the trunk. My voltage stays around 14v if I keep it cranked for a song or two using the factory 90a alt @13.8v. If I had the 3kwp set to produce max output I would probably see lower voltages. I also have a XS Power battery charger that I use once a week.
  13. I think I will remove as much as I can by cutting it off and leave the rest be. Thanks for checking in. So far it is playing fine. Hopefully there isn't enough on it to negatively affect reliability. Thanks
  14. Here are a few mono block amplifers that I like in that power range. 1. Sundown 2500 I really like Sundown products. Their amplifiers are the best imo, but are not cheap$$$$ 2. Crescendo 3kwp (I have this amp) Crescendo is releasing a new line of amplifiers. They should be competitive with Sundown and cheaper. 3. Stetsom 2k5 I like these amplifiers because they are small and are ridiculously effeicent. Based on price and size you can't go wrong with these amps. This was originally my top pick but I bought the Crescendo for $100 less second hand brand new. So if you have the funds buy Sundown. If you can wait till Crescendo has their new amps out then you could buy a comparable (to Sundown) for less coin. If you want a small amp that takes up less space then Stetsom has you covered with a cost between Sundown and Crescendo.
  15. You are right. I planned on switching over to two 12", so no immediate need for a recone. Are SSA XCON recones available? Dude sharts are the worse! Seriously, expanding foam can be great and also awful. You can contact denim for a recone, but I recently saw a topic saying they were out of 12" D1 recones at the moment if you need D1's. I will have to ask him. I have a 15D2 btw. Thanks! That would be great, thank you. I am afraid that an acetone based cleaner would melt the surrond though.

  17. That is amazing. The US has alot to learn from our Eastern countries. One of them is how to stay out of other countries business but that is a whole other topic. We(I) do not even want to start to discuss education........
  18. Lol, no damn it, I am pee'd off! It was a great looking subwoofer! Maybe over time the XCON will rattle the foam off the cone but I doubt it. The foam is probably the most stickiest goop I ever worked with.
  19. The foam works great when it is dry Damn XCON vibrated out all the wet chit lol. I hope the XCON will not be negatively affected with a lil foam on the cone
  20. I wil keep that in mind for the future. FYI, hand lotion takes it off your skin the best.
  21. Yeah its phucked. It already dried on the cone and surrond. It isn't coming off without tearing the surrond. Oh well.
  22. I need to know if acetone is harmful to the dust cap/cone and surrond on the XCON.
  23. Not yet. I probably have less than two hours or so until it will be more solidified since it isn't a large amount.
  24. I will add that before I left for work there was no seepage. After driving and sound vibrations there was seepage of un-dried foam which I did not expect after a long cure time.
  25. During the initial application I did take caution in apply it. I really expected it to be all dry after over 16 hours.
