  1. How is the BTL now that you had it for a while?
  2. I agree! Is the spray foam hard to remove and clean off of unwanted areas? I have 3 cans of it to seal of my trunk. Its on the to do list
  3. Thanks for the input. If anybody is charging batteries this way please share your experience.
  4. I have talked to these guys a few times. Their product appeared to have good reviews but I never purchased an alternator from them. Let us know how things go.

  6. I have a XS Power D3400 as my starting battery mounted in the engine compartment and an axuiliry D3400 mounted in my trunk. The batteries are wired in parallel with no isolator/relay. I have an alternator on order from DC Power but I have yet to receive it. My stock alternator is 90 amps. My system draw can be over 100 amps but I have it tuned down for now. I monitor my voltage which stays above 13.3 volts, worse case with engine running. I am concerned that I will damage my stock alternator and XS Power batteries with my system demands. I am getting more and more ticked that it is taking DC Power over 4 months to get me my alternator and I still do not know when I will have it. Question is: Can I connect an XS Power 12v battery charger (over night 8-12hrs) to my starting battery to charge both batteries? I do not want to have to disconnect anything. I want to maintain a good charge on my expensive batteries and keep my stock alternator from being over loaded.
  7. Thank you Next up is to seal off the trunk. Then I have to start the front stage. Not really looking forward to fiberglassing, I have never done it to this extent
  8. Thanks. I wish I had more time for photography, I really enjoy it.

I would get some air flow across those amps!
  10. Simple question...simple answer, cone area is key.
  11. You definitely do not need 300 amps for a aq2200d I have been waiting four months now...........
  12. I did not expect the XCON to be so violent I am really liking this subwoofer, too bad I cant listen to it more often. DC POWER get me my alt it has been over four months now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recent shot of the trunk.
  13. Yeah PA sucks ass, dont get me started lol. My shots would be even better if I had a macro lens I am using a +4 filter on my standard 35-55mm until I get my macro lens.
  14. I ordered my alt November of 2010. You should expect a long wait to get it. Robbie is somewhat hard to get a hold of. I do talk to him every 2 to 3 weeks though and I am hoping to get my alt any day now.
  15. Thanks! It is definitely one of those things that the more you make the better they get. I highly recommend the WES51. It is an excellent unit.
  16. No doubt Thanks Little teaser video at approx. 35v (approx. 1200w at 1ohm) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lvtoLLFBV0
  17. The issue is that my XCON at my trunk lol. I need to get some storage area back. I do want a smaller enclosure but I do not want to sacrifice output. PRs are amazing. An extremely low tuning can be achieved, ported enclosure efficency to name a few. IMO the only cons are cost and mounting requirements. I have heard two car audio PR systems in the past. I think they sound great. I need to do more research before I dive into this. I am going to look into a semi external port as well through the rear deck. With two 12's and an external port I may be able to get what I want.
  18. I started working on my RCA wires. I am posting up some pics but this is definitely not a full blown how-to. If you have any questions though please ask! Weller WES51 pen solder station. 10/10 I love it. Clamp stand, ehh ok, not as adjustable as I like. I am using : - Gepco 61801EZ wire. Plain and simple and easy to use. - P3 RCA connectors. Plain simple does the job well. - cable pants - Techflex NeonBlue - .032" 60/40 rosin core solder - heat shrink Gepco 61801EZ ia a 2 conductor with a drain wire Drain at the source for unbalanced connections. Wires tinned P3 connectors do not have solder cups but I did presolder them Wires soldered to the connector Heat shrink to prevent grounding to the connector body. Connector fastened! Repeat for left channel. Cable pants and Techflex on and ready to solder the other end. Drain wire snipped off Repeat above soldering steps. Done! 4 or 5 more custom lengths to make. It is probably cheaper or the same cost to buy premade RCA wires but I just like to make chit!
  19. Thanks. I will be contacting you for design assistance within the upcoming months.
  20. I am thinking of ditching the xcon. I would love to run to dual Sundown 12" in a dual 15" PR setup. Smaller box with more output with the same if not better sound quality. AP mats are sweet but the subs I want do not fit the criteria.
  21. That's what I was thinking.
  22. I would love to use PR for car audio application. Before I start designing the system I have a couple questions. 1. Will the automobile environment be too abusive for PRs? With a vehicle in motion, going over bumps and accelerating/deaccelerating, cause the PR's cone to move affecting performance? 2. I have read that downward firing a PR will cause the diaphragm to be displaced downward. If the PR is mounted cone up will the cause a similiar situation (diaphram sinks towards spiders)? In my current vehicle the only way I can use PRs is with cones pointed upward.
  23. Thanks for explaining that.
