  1. I never heard of turning RCAs off. Gotta look into it. I am thinking that the cause its a faulty speaker but the impedence checks out good. My voltage is 12.54v with my ground to battery, 12.51v with stock ground and car off at the Kenwood plug.
  2. -My replacement hu I was sent does the same thing. The volume cuts out at volume settings above 22/35. -I checked the impedence of the individual speakers from the hu plug. They all measure 3.6 ohms. -I checked my ground wire impedence 0.000 ohms. I even switched my ground wire to the stock ground and the volume drop still happens. -The hu is snug in the dash but does have room to breathe. -I think I may disconnect the factory tweeters in the a-pillars and see if that does anything. -The volume drop is being caused by the hu overheating and going into protect. Why is the hu overheating??????
  3. daaammmnnnn that's a big box!!!!
  4. Thank you . I haven't had the camera out in a while. Between my install and house buying I haven't had any extra time for photography. I might look into an AP Mat install next just to eliminate an enclosure. Yea. I hear ya. Kinda like me with working and school. Not much time for install. But I get time every now and then. And whats so mat? Thanks for the support man. Im very excited about it. BAD NEWS! I went to check my motor mounts today and they are SHOT! All of them. So, that's $200 for parts.( $100 cheaper than retail because I kno people at O'Reilly Auto.) And $200 labor...which is hella cheap. So this means no alt or new batts any time soon. I will still be installing tho. Just no electrical upgrades. Oh man, vehicle repairs always pop up at the most opportune times. AP mats are mostly used for an SQ setup. An AP mat acts like an enclosure, kinda, but less than 0.5^3 ft volume. They were popular in the early 90's. There are pros and cons like all subwoofer systems : #1 con being lower efficiency #1 pro being you get the sound quality benefits of a large box with the power handling and damping control of a small box. Not all subwoofers are good for AP mats. In vehicles that can not mount an infinite baffle type of setup (SUVs, hatchbacks) some have vented the AP mat through the vehicle, kinda cool IMO. I haven't looked into this too much but has always been in the back of my mind. In the future I definitely plan on tinkering with AP mats. USD AP Mats AP Mats tutorial

  6. Looking good. I wish subwoofer enclosures didnt need to be so big. I bet you feel the same.
  7. 152.1 with one 8" Love that song with Nikki in it
  8. Aaaaagggghhhh I loooooooove Zapco!!!!!! Try to get creative with your angles in your shots. Looking straight down on amp boards is, ehh, ok. For your track shots try panning. Using a shutter speed of 1/focal length as a start. This way you can show motion and have a sharp image.
  9. Sweet ride. I love old school Nissans slammed. This should be moved to the build log section.
  10. LMFAO!!!!! Haha that chit happens to me all the time!
  11. That is a bold statement. 4 XCON 15's sealed is going to need alot of cubes, especially if you run individual chambers. Good luck with this.
  12. XS Power is top notch. Check out their chart for your power needs. Or call Nathan he is extremely helpful.
  13. Not dig'n the dome tags at all. I am very curious what the optimal enclosure sizes will be for these bad boys.
  14. Thanks for your advice. I am going to try it without deadener and see how it sounds. I would love to see your setup. Thanks for the heads up on the liner. You most have been determined to get that 1/0 through the firewall, balls to that lol.
  15. The spare tire definitely will not be usable in the spare tire well. I am putting my second D3400 in there instead. So you think I will not have to deaden the trunk with a forward firing setup sealed? Thanks for hit'n me up j-roadtatts
  16. Between working overtime and family stuff I havent had much time at all to work on my install. Biggest update is that I am ditching the 3 way setup I was doing for the front stage. I scored a set of USD A-700 waveguides modified with Selenium DH200E-E drivers :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: I am awaiting funds to purchase SDS products for the trunk then the build will really take off. I made a mock-up box that is the same size as my subwoofer enclosure. It is much easier to move the mock-up box around than the +100lbs subwoofer enclosure. Plan A. Have the subwoofer enclosure mounted rear facing. I made an external skeleton brace. I thought it was going to work...... I think the 15" would be chocked off. My trunk is too small for a box this big rear facing. Plan B. Forward facing subwoofer sealed from trunk
  17. The box build looks fantastic! You don't build a box like that without some sort of experience and training Very impressive work with the angle holes. The kerf is perfect. You seriously built this box yourself?

  19. XS Power makes excellent AGM charges. Not cheap though.
  20. Nice start. I want to see more of that chicka in your sig!!!!!!
  21. Wow, I love the front end swap and the rear frame clip!!!!!!
